IC: THE CURSE OF THE SHARAI SPRING
For years sat an unmarked fountain just beyond the fields of the central terrace of the Sharai. For as long as anyone can remember, it's been there. When workers cease their prescribed labor, they oft go to sit next to the fountain, easing their aching feet on some of the benches clustered nearby. Superstition says that any who takes a drink of the fountain will have good luck for the day. Thus it is in the practice of Lhavitians to regularly stop by to wash their hands and faces and partake of the clean, cool water. Some believe in the luck. Others just enjoy the experience.
One Spring day like any other, many people stopped by the fountain. This day in particular was nice and warm. Children laughed and played in the waters. Using the bowl of their hands, many drank whatever it was they could collect before the precious substance slipped through their fingers. It tasted sweeter, perhaps for the long Winter or perhaps because of the levity they shared. But no matter the reason, it wasn't long before people began feeling different. By the next day, any who touched the spring had been altered in some way.

This season, you can choose to have your character can be one of those who drank from the fountain. Those who do can either develop a magical discipline which they temporarily have no control over or they can roll for random effects on a table which can include altered physical states, cognitive changes and more! You get your choice of a single personal magic, outside of the lost disciplines and familiary. If you'd really like a lost discipline and you've got a really incredible plot idea to go with it, PM me! For those daring enough to roll for what they get, please say so in the form below. For those who do develop a magic, they find it to be absolutely out of hand. If it is reimancy for example, they may discharge Res at random and all over the place. If they've developed auristic sight, they may start to focus and become unable to stop. Overgiving can and will happen, but all who try to gain control over the magic and play accordingly will still receive skill points for using it! Think of it as magical Tourette's Syndrome TM. At the most inconvenient times, your character will feel themselves triggered and must fight to regain control.
Those who want to go on the quest to the Spring to figure out what the heck is wrong with it, just mention this in your sign-up sheet. The thread will be started next week! I'm not limiting it to players but be warned that I will be posting to it at minimum twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. That means if we haven't gone a full post rotation by then, I'll post the next little bit to keep things moving.
I won't be kicking anyone out or limiting it to players but I do want to make sure we get this one done by the end of the season, as my quests have a nasty habit of going on for decades.OOC: A BIG-ASS PARTY; THE FESTIVAL OF FELLOWSHIP
In typical Lhavitian style, there will be a huge celebration at the conclusion of the quest. Those of you who want in can start posting about it right away. I will make a separate post explaining the way the different terraces are set up and timeframes of the party. For more details, check the description in the seasonal calendar. Likewise, I will make an open thread as well for those too timid to post their own but smaller threads are encouraged. Use every part of the buffalo, ladies and gentleman! There will be activities suitable every character that plays here. Which brings me to my next point.
Since I never made good on my promise to guerilla moderate, this is where the magic will happen. If you start a thread about the Festival of Fellowship or if you post in the open thread, go in with the expectation I've got something in store for you. I have many moldy old plot ideas that have yet to be unleashed on the population, so look out! That way, even if your character misses out on jumping into the main quest (once we're actually past a certain point in the thread, joining will be quite impossible) they can still get some love.

If you choose to go for an random effect, PM me! We can discuss things further. If you've got some effect you reaaaaaaally want, no sweat. Just ask for it. I have no problem with handing out random side-effects rather than forcing you to roll for them, but we'll still talk about it first. Likewise, if you don't like what you rolled... Well, we can re-roll as many times as you like. Contrary to what Prophet says, I'm not a monster!
