The Art of Speaking
Valerius Nitrozian’s Kenashern office was surprisingly plain and small, a square building that was covered with ivy, with a door and two windows at the front. The floor was made of simple polished wood. There were no pictures on them for Valerius had no need of such frivolities. There were just a desk with a lockbox on it, a few chairs and a shelf that contained scrolls and books, the bare necessities for most of Valerius’ business took place elsewhere.
He usually visited the children of the dynasties at home and tutored them rather than bringing them here, and thus he had decided not to waste any more money than he had to on an office building, but spent it on a few of the luxury items he was used to from his life in Ravok instead.
The subject he most often taught was rhetorics for most of the young people of Kenash seemed to be sorely unaware that there was a difference between speaking and speaking correctly and using one's voice to its fullest effect. Other subjects such as lessons in Nader-canoch or interrogation techniques were only available upon request.
