The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

48th Day, Spring Season, 516. Planter's First Adventure, Prologue

'Ahh, what a wonderful spring morning!' Planter thought. Planter stretched with a mental yawn as bit of dirt fell from his joints. The little clay pot man peeked out of his one man tent, which had sunk down on the sides from the weight of morning dew that had collected on his tent walls. "Hmm, I'll need to work on that, but how about some breakfast!." to no one in particular. Ducking back into his tent, he began rummaging through his back pack for abit of clay to munch on,"Nope, not that. Oh, that's where I put that! Keep that for later." He pulled out a piece of red clay and brushed off the bit of dried apple off of it and chewed greedily on it, save for a small piece that he set aside. He casually molded the bit of clay; as best as he could, into what would've been anyone guess, an anthromorphic representation of a horse... or dog or some other four legged animal. Planter whispered, " And for you Harameus. May you always be the change we need." as he set the figurine outside his tent.

As everyone in the merchant camp began setting up to continue their journey for the Endrykas camp, Planter began cleaning up his little camp ground. The caravan meister, Ohljanis; a stoic Akalakian merchant in wares of the blood spilling type, let out a sharp whistle. All the other merchants and caravan guards made their final preparations, before the journey for Endrykas and from what Planter heard, onto Kenash.

As the little clay pot man, stored his tent and securely fastened his trade good, an idea popped into his head,' You know what I need! I need to get myself a journal! Yeah, that'd be great! Write down all my adventures and when I come back home, I can show Mama and Papa all that I've done. Oh, I can also try my hand at drawing some new flora that I find and I maybe the first one to ever discover a new plant! ' He laughed to himself at the prospect of making a once in a life time discovery such as that, even in his lifetime, but a Pycon can dream can't he? Finishing with his campsite, he hasty moved to one of the merchants he knew would have such an item available, Tomas the Tome Dealer.

The little clay pot man clopped towards where he remembered the tome dealer had staged his camp, which was hard to miss due to it being the most colorful. Even though Tomas was in the midst of tearing down his lime-green/azure colored tent along with his teamster employees, Planter walked to the pot bellied book seller and tugged on his pant leg," S'cuse me, Tomas the Tome Dealer? We never officially met, but I'm Planter.

The portly man never even took his eyes off the labor that he was supervising, "Yeah, yeah. Look, nice to meet you and all, but I gotta get this tent packed up and ready to go before Ohljanis leaves us for the Glassbeaks." he looked down, annoyance playing across his face. Planter oblivious to the fact, " Oh, well it is a pleasure to meet you Mister Tomas and I was hoping I could purchase a blank tome from you, say for 13 gold mizas?" Tomas annoyance flashed a bit of anger, then quickly subsided back into annoyance, " Look, I don't have time to haggle over a book and these are top quality." As if he couldn't help himself, he quickly went into his salesman pitch of his goods, " These items sell very quickly, especially for the business and slave holders in Kenash. I can sell you one of my leather bound books, with it's own clasp. It's even travel sized, which would be perfect for someone as compact as you." Planter smiled on the inside at the compliment, " I can part with this one for 37 gold mizas." Planter tried to calculate the actual value of the book in his head, but without writing anything down, his mind got muddled. Without a moments notice, he said " Sure! Sounds like a great deal! Thank you! Oh, you wouldn't happened to have some ink and a pen, would you?" as he quickly fished out the 37 gold mizas from his bag and handed it to the book dealer. Tomas's face changed from annoyance to something close to upbeat, though it was difficult to tell with the amount of jowls on the man, " You know, since I'm in a cheerful mood today, I'll throw that in, free of charge." The tome dealer went to one of his chests that was loaded on his wagon and fished out a key to unlock his wares. He rummaged through a series of different books, before finding the one he was looking for: a light brown leather bound book, with a fastening string on the front and a glass ink well with a quill pen. Tomas closed the chest and re-locked it and handed the items to Planter, who took it, smiling on the inside.

Bidding the tome dealer farewell, Planter clopped toward the head of the caravan, where everyone had mounted up and were waiting for the caravan meister's signal to restart their trek. Ohljanis looked down at the Pycon and offered him his hand, " About time you arrived. I was thinking maybe a snake ate you." he said with no hint of jesting. Planter took his hand as the caravan meister lifted the Pycon onto the front of the wagon, he Pycon laughed nervously, " Nope, no snakes here. Thankfully... Wait, why would a snake eat me?
