"Like lions, fear is a different thing in different men, but to me the only pleasure in the hunt is the knowledge that the hunted thing has power to harm me as much as I have to harm him. If I went out with a couple of rifles and a gun bearer, and twenty or thirty beaters, to hunt a lion, I should not feel that the lion had much chance, and so the pleasure of the hunt would be lessened in proportion to the increased safety which I felt."
"Then I am to take it that Monsieur Tarzan would prefer to go naked into the jungle, armed only with a jackknife, to kill the king of beasts," laughed the other good naturedly, but with the merest touch of sarcasm in his tone.
"And a piece of rope," added Tarzan."

History
Riluc early life is a blur of memories and events. He couldn't even begin to piece them together into anything chronological. He do occasionally have flashes of faces in his memory or images of places, but he has except that those memories are lost. Riluc couldn't tell you how it was that he caame to live with a group of wild dogs in the streets of Sunberth. He just remember the warm darkness and the smell of dog fur. It was comforting and soothing. He felt love and protection there in that dark warmth. His parents were different than most human children but he felt he had similar feelings towards those who raised him.
He didn't realize that Grrw and the others were different than from him at first, but he soon came to realize that he was different. One of the first clues he got was when Grrw forced himto walk on just two legs, and the biggest thing he noticed was that he did walked better on two legs then on the four legs. There were other aspects of the physical difference that slowly came to his attention. His teeth were obvious different as here his nails.
Despite physical differences though the pack taught him how to survive. There were many skills that I learned in those first years that allowed me to survive on the streets. It helped that he moved with the pack and stayed close. He was part of the wild side of the city of Sunberth, which included avoiding the two legs. He was to young and nieve to realize that if he had been caught he would have been taken as a slave. He just assumed he would have been killed like other animals caught in the city of Sunberth. He was about eight when the pack he was in got chased beyond the edge of the city and into the hills and fields surrounding the city of Sunberth. It was there that he really saw plant life and began to listen to nature.
In the city the animals he saw ran around in packs or solo. There were difference between the two worlds but at base level they were the same. As they wandered the forest he watched the animals, and he was fascinated by them and the various plant life. It was then that He first heard the call of Cahyia. He began to understand more and more about the balance of nature. He began to see it first outside in nature proper. It was during his times when wandered out of the city and into nature that He first attracted the goddess attention.
Riluc continued to grow and learn as Hewandered the streets of the city and in the forest nearest it. He learned how to survive in the wild and on the streets of the city. It was during his twelfth year that the greatest disaster of his life occurred. His pack had over the years changed as some dies and new ones were born. By that he was one of the older members, even his mother had dies, but he was still very much part of the pack. On day though the pack fell victim to a trap set by some do gooder trying to clean up the streets. His pack could't resist the bait as it was early spring and food was scarces. Riluc tried to stop them but they wouldn't listen as the alpha at the time lead the pack forward. They were slaughtered by the dog hunters. Riluc was visiously hurt myself as He tried to stop the slaughter of the pack. He did manage to crawl away even with his wounds. He collapsed a few streets away convinces He would join his family in death. Luckly for him Caiyha had sent one of her witches to take him under her wing. So it was that he was rescued by his second mother. A konti witch named Gaelsa Lorrani.
Gaelsa didn't waist time but took Riluc off of the streets. Riluc didn't remember what really happened at that point. He remembered her gentle touch and her soothing voice as he struggled back from death. When he truly woke up it was to find himself on a ship sailing for Mura. He had awoken in bed to see a beautiful face looking down on him. The woman's blond hair was braided and hung over her left shoulder. Her face hinted at scales that seemed to enhance her beauty. It was her gentle eyes that really claimed his focus. There was a mother look in her eyes that calmed Rilux and allowed his to drift back to sleep.
So it was that Riluc moved to Mura. There he continued learn more about being a witch of Caiyha. He was also adopted into the konti Lorrani family, as Garlsa was unable to have children so she claimed Riluc as her own and raised him as such.
