8th Day of Summer
The morning hadn't yet come but the sky was beginning to lighten in the east hinting at the promise of a beautiful day. Riluc's green eyes took in the faint light as he stood outside his tent peace feeling his soul at the majesty of the world. The ugliness of Sunberth was hidden in the predawn light. The young man sighed, his expression soft as he shouldered his bag and quietly began to walk through the tent city. The true humor was that he felt a need to be quieter walking through the tent city in early morning then at any point in the forest out beyond the city.
Once Riluc was beyond the last of the tent he began a steady jog that carried him through the fields beyond the city limits. He breathed in deep enjoying the moist air. Riluc as a child had hated the morning dew as it could chill a sleeping body in the early morning's chill. He even know wasn't a fan but he had grown to love the smell of water in the air. Now the moisture seem to refresh him as he ran through the predawn.
He loved the feeling of his muscles stretching as he jogged, and watching the scenery flash by as he moved. The scenery was actually rather bland right around him as it was just young growing plants, but as a follower of Caiyha he loved to see the plants grow. He found the farms themselves a little pompous as they tried to control plant life, but in the same breath it was an effective use of Caiyha’s creatures. Farmers had to balance themselves with nature or everything would fall apart.
Riluc cleared his mind and focused on the day ahead. Today he would focus mostly on his traps and finding small game. He figured he would head towards one of his rope traps that he had set closer to the edge of the forest were smaller game would be found in its efforts to steal seeds and such from the farms. He had set it the morning before and had plans to see what it had captured.
He continued to run through the fields moving his thoughts beyond that trap to the others. While he enjoyed hunting in all its variation. He sadly did have to make some coin to buy those supplies he didn't have enough skills to make, or couldn't find in the wild. One day he would be completely self sufficent and be able to wander the wilds as a Witch of Caiyha for days on end. He would be able to handle the monstrous dangers of the wild with little problem. Riluc loved that thought and it brought a smile to his face.
