Day 1, Winter, Year 510 AV
Why hadn’t she got a chance to do this yet?
She’d been here nearly a month, and she had never taken a step into the Sea of Grass. It was beautiful, even with her human eyes, when most things looked strangely less detailed. The ground seemed to move like waves, and well trodden paths were hard to find.
Just the way she liked it.
She hadn’t transformed since that night, and now it felt so different. She took off her clothes, and left them in a place she could remember, well hidden except to her own eyes. She transformed, and at once everything was a little blurry, a little fuzzy. She felt slightly dizzy, but soon she came to her senses and everything sparkled with wonderful clarity… it really was breathtaking. All the shades of green, the wonderful blue of the sky, and the lovely white clouds. You could barely tell it was Winter now.
She started to gallop quickly. She knew it wasn’t that safe out here, in the wilds, and it was exhilarating. She could only rely in her senses to tell her when danger was near. She was one with the earth and the grass and the air, and like an amber bullet she sped along.
And then something made her slow down suddenly, and made her stop and stare intently, wondering if she had got it correct.
No…
Was it… her?
