Cha Summer 9th 516Av Perhaps it was Cha's fault, perhaps it was was simply fate but after only two days of silence following Cha's killing of the Sunset Quarter's local drug peddler a new body had filled the man's position. As per usual It didn't take too long for the words to travel through the orphanage, one of the few perks of living in such crowded space. Cha had felt rather unpleasant since she had killed the first man, she still had a rather unpleasant bruise to her stomach ware the man had landed a particularly powerful punch. That said below the revulsion, their was another feeling, like a guilty satisfaction, she had rid her brethren of a worry for a moment, for a blessed moment Cha had been able to feel like she had paid back the orphanage in some small way, so upon finding out that her work, her sacrifices had been for naught, a darker emotion sprouted in her. It felt unpleasant, her work going to waste, but at the sane tie perhaps her goal had been naive, his was Sunberth the town of her birth and one death never proved a thing, perhaps it would take more, one dead drug dealer was a deal gone wrong, two was an oddity, but five was a point proven. Thinking that the girl looked at her hands and mentally cursed herself. You can't make a difference, mom and pop were stringer than I've ever been and they got erased in a single night, what could I ever do? Holding her fathers axe Cha stroked the blade, coldsteel was the material the blade had been made of. The permanently cool touch of the metal brought some sort of serenity to Cha. Something about how fate was cruel struck Cha's mind and mind and made her smile. It really was funny how the more you wanted things to change the more they stayed the same. Sighing Cha dropped the hand axe into her belt and set out thinking to herself if she could take one out, then she could out two. As Cha approached the area where she had heard the man would be she thought to herself as to how she could improve upon her ability to kill, the last fight had been to long and to risky, it had been a mild miracle that nobody had stumbled across it. This time it needed to be faster, more effective. Cha wasn't too horrible with her weapon, she'd seen how her father would swing it when he would fight invisible foes, and Cha was fairly certain that if she could fell a tree with the small axe, and bark was harder than skin, then a human shouldn't fair to well against a good well aimed chop. Finally reaching the area Cha crouched low in a alley and began to search for the man that would be selling the drugs, Unlike last time she didn't have a good description of the man that she'd be dealing with so she Would have to do some looking. Looking up and down the street Cha squinted, their were only a few stragglers about in the afternoon hours most heading home or to whatever haunts they liked to spend the night in. But These people all seemed to be moving with some sort of goal in mind, the man Cha was looking for would be loitering. Then Cha saw Him, a larger man than the last and in place f stained rags All Cha ould see of him was a tattered brown cloak that concealed what looked to be a scarred up face. Beyond that his features were concealed. Well it's not like that mattered too much . Using the same technique as Cha had tried before She began a treck around the block until She came to rest behind the man's alley, his was a little more frustratingly clean, less things to hide behind and use as cover. That mean that she' have to faster. Stepping into the alley Cha walked forward Her feet landing heel first and rolling forward slowly so that her footfalls were soft and less noisy. For the first several steps things went well and Cha made it about three fourths of the way down the Alley when the man turned about and saw her, as His eyes widened in recognition Cha was already closing the gap her axe trailing behind her in a deadly arc. As the man pulled forth a Sword Cha's Ax ate into the man's shoulder, his height in comparison had saved it from being his neck. Her one shot kill attack failing Cha hopped back a couple paces, the man was now holding a sword in his right hand His left and coming up to grip the hilt for a two handed stance. It was obvious that his left arm would be a weak side, but her opponent looked strong. Cha had never fought against an armed opponent so the sword struck a chill in her, fists could hurt but swords could kill, this wouldn't be like the last fight. |
