AppearanceRace: Svefra
Gnosis: Oceanus - level 1 - Marked individuals can first and foremost spot Otani readily. Otani will recognize them and often seek them out to play and communicate. Individuals with one Laviku mark can also drink salt water and have the mark automatically convert it to fresh water for ocean survival. Individuals know the direction of the sea if they are on land and how far away it is (in approx miles). They also immediately recognize where progression tide is, meaning if it is incoming or outgoing or in transition between.
Gender: Male
Birthday: 63rd of Winter, 496
Birthplace: Suvan Sea
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 225 lbs.
Appearance: Titus is a tall, well-built man of the sea. Like all Svefra, he has striking blue eyes, sun-kissed skin and a healthy form. His body is muscular and toned but not bulky. This comes from the perfect exercise of swimming and the very physical task of sailing. His hair is a dark blonde or chestnut at the roots but hours in Syna's light have washed the strands and tips to a much lighter more golden color. The natural shape is long and wavy; a bit wild and tends to fall around his shoulders though there are times when he will tie it back in a ponytail. He has broad shoulders and a slim waist and lacks the bulk of a warrior. His hands are rough and callused from life on the sea and the majority of his skin is weathered like the hide of a turtle; smooth and thick.
Titus has several tattoos. One for his pod, the Galesong which is on his left arm. The cherry blossoms represent the red hair and sweet demeanor of the Lias in his pod line. Titus's Oceanus mark is buried within the ink of this tattoo and seems to make the waves move. He has a sea turtle on his right foot for his pod's longtime association with the creatures. Titus learned how to swim with these noble animals and was bitten on the foot by one as a boy of nine which is why he chose the specific location for this tattoo. Titus bears one final tattoo and it's personal; a design for his Tavan, a blacktip reef shark named, Ushaka.
Character ConceptTitus is a free spirit like many of his people. He has a heart for adventure, fun and loves a good challenge. His age is revealed in fickle behavior that may seem uncharacteristic for his 'norm'. Sometimes, he will simply change his mind for no apparent reason and cannot be approached on the subject without risking an outburst. Titus loves everything about the water and up to this point in his life has done very little in cities or on land. He comes from a very large pod that was mostly destroyed with survivors that were scattered to the four winds. This has left him a bit detached from forming lasting relationships but he loves to socialize and get intertwined into brief affairs.

Character HistoryTitus was born to the Galesong pod. They were a very large pod founded by his great-grandmother, Asia. She was given the Pardisa of the sea turtle to begin anew from a pod that had become reckless and divided. Through her sound judgement and wise choice of mates, Asia began a family of smart, strong and compassionate people. The pod grew quickly and began to expand from the North Suvan into the Middle. The more the Galesong traveled, the more they grew. Asia passed on her leadership and personality to her second daughter who took over and continued the trend. All of these women were fire-haired commanders of the sea and those around them. In another generation, the pod had grown so large that they were bordering on becoming a fleet with half a dozen Palivars and almost twenty Casinors.
This is how Titus was raised. He had more family than he could track but was never lacking in someone to teach him a skill or join him in his trouble making. He loved his life sailing all over the Suvan and grew to be strong and useful in his own rite. When he had turned seventeen, the Lia decided it was time to leave the Suvan Sea for open water. Some were fearful but many welcomed the possibility of an even bigger playground. There was even talk of sailing around Mizahar which excited the teenager.
Not too long into their voyage, a massive storm overtook the pod. It came from nowhere and despite having Blessed individuals of both Zulrav and Laviku, there was no escape for the Galesong. The cluster of ships was tossed about in such a way that many crashed into one another. Titus was thrown from his family's Palivar and into a Casinor. Unable to reach his family, he set about trying to wrest control of the ship back from the storm. He was nearly capsized twice and ended up being tossed against the deck and knocked unconscious.
When he awoke, he was alone amongst debris as far as his eyes would allow him to see. Unsure in how to proceed, Titus simply sank down and wept. He cried for bells until his tears dried up but the sorrow was not gone. Some time later, an Avikka lighted upon his gunwhale and it was carrying a message. Titus patiently coaxed the animal until he could retrieve the slip of paper. All it said was "Blessed."
Titus took the paper and made a fist around it. He was alive and had to do something with the life he'd been given. Already away from the Suvan and unsure where he should go, he simply began to sail. After some time, he found the shore and tracked it until he came to a place not far from Wind Reach. He fished and he traded with the red-haired eagle riders. The ginger complexion reminded him of so many in his family that it was comforting for him. The young man eventually found himself wanting to find more of his brethren and bid farewell to the shores beneath Mt. Skyinarta and Storm Bay. He sailed out and to the west, followed the coastline south until he came to the small inlet beneath the mountains of Lhavit. He has many talents and hopes to expand upon them in a city that never sleeps.

TavanName: Ushaka
Species: Blacktip Reef Shark
Length: 7’1"
Weight: 118 lbs.
Notes: Ushaka and Titus came together in an unusual circumstance. While fishing, the young man caught the shark in his net. They were both looking for food and so Titus showed mercy on the big fish and released him from the net. For one reason or another, the shark began to follow the Casinor, from a distance at first, then closer as time wore on. The Svefra became aware of this and took his time to study the shark, to learn what he could from simple observation. After several weeks, Titus's curiosity got the best of him and the young man elected to take a swim and see if he could communicate with the predator. Caution and pride kept them both close but never directly in harm's way. After months of swimming near one another, a levy broke and a line of communication was given between man and beast. The duo often swim together and when conditions are favorable, Titus and Ushaka work at perfecting the art of team fishing.
