On the Road

Syna had nearly fallen below the horizon now as the caravan that the trio traveled with reached its stop for the day, their haul a long and tiresome one as they worked to move further and further along the Kabrin Road to reach the only place that offered what could only be Ricky's hope for survival. Lately he had been dealing with things he would rather not talk about, hallucinations of dead people he didn't want to see again as well as... well whatever it was that occurred several nights ago. At any given rate he was definitely struggling to cope with this illness he had as it slowly whittled his life away, the willpower to persevere like he normally did finally started to dwindle just a little as he had but... Gods knew how many days were left before they would reach Syliras. They had to hurry though, they were pressed for time and sure enough the peddler they'd been traveling with did his best to speed things along.
Yet even so... there was still the long dreary part of the day that involved walking, riding the wagon, walking some more, momentarily stopping for a break or two, more walking or riding. It was the same schedule everyday and it led Ricky to further hate the idea of traveling even more, enough to the point where he would never want to travel anywhere again. Ever. Yet when they reached the stop for the night and were given the instructions, Ricky was to collect firewood from a nearby grove so they could light a fire for the evening. Thus he and Telion were out together collecting firewood, Telion of course along to make sure he wouldn't fall over or hurt himself in the process, Gods already knew he was wearing himself out faster by trying to overdo things half the time.
"Please be careful Ricky!" Telion pleaded a time or two when Ricky seemed to take a moment to pull a heavy branch onto his shoulder. He muttered a silent curse towards himself as he felt yet another pathetic nosebleed come afterwards, in turn leading him to allow Telion to have the satisfaction of lecturing him while she used the same old rag that had now been moderately covered in dried blood from earlier nosebleeds on this trip. He didn't care much anymore, he just wanted all this to be done and over with. Soon.
