6th Fall, 516AV Deliath had finished getting ready, and now placed one foot in front of the other as she left her house in the Sunset Quarter to walk to her place of work - The Pig Foot Tavern. Since starting her work there, she found the name more amusing, as she had dealt with a lot of men in there that she viewed as nothing more than pigs, driven by their own greed and lust, most of whom had not been pleasant customers. As she walked, she imagined that the streets of Sunberth would be a funhouse for Yshul, with the lack of laws and all the thieves and deviants that ran wild in the place. Silently, she shuddered remembering that she was an obvious target for such thieves. She was weak compared to most, and she lacked any sort of fighting skill. "Gold on legs..." she spoke softly to herself, although she knew that any thief would be very much disappointed in the lack of value they would find on her, before the Pigs Foot Tavern came into view. She quickened her pace, feeling even more uneasy, as though something was watching her, until she had reached the entrance of the Tavern and she could exhaled a sigh of relief.
She entered the tavern, nodding a greeting to a barmaid that was obviously getting ready to leave, as Deliath moved to stand behind the bar with a warm smile on her face.
Already, a collection of used, dirty mugs, tankards and glasses had gathered on the bar, and it became obvious that the other girl hadn't done much towards the cleanliness of the place. Sighing, Deliath ran a bowl of water and began cleaning each of the vessels, making sure not to break any of them. It was a tedious process, but more for the fact that they had all been left and nobody had tried to keep on top of the mess, which should have been a somewhat simple task. But Deliath managed to build a rhythm. Grab the vessel, put it in the water, rub it clean, and then place it upside down to her left so the water could drain from it, ready for her to dry each vessel and do her best to polish them. It wasn't long before all the mugs and tankards were done and only a few, more delicate, glasses and wine glasses remained. She took even more care with those, making sure to handle them gently as she didn't want to risk them breaking and cutting her, or having to pay for the replacements. She had enough trouble paying for her own food at the moment, never mind things that weren't hers. She smiled slightly as she glanced around the tavern. Everybody there seemed satisfied with what they had, leaving her with the time to get on with what should have been done before she got there.
Deliath went to grab another glass, not looking at where they had been, but found her hand hitting nothing but the hard wood of the bar. She looked, unsure of what had happened, only to found that she had cleaned the last glance and that all of them were happily draining to her left. "All cleaned already? Onto drying I guess?" she thought to herself softly as she grabbed a clean and dry cloth from behind her, and one of the wine glasses. Carefully, she began rubbing the wine glass with the cloth, removing the remaining droplets of water until the glass shone cleanly in the dim lighting. It was dry. She glanced around until she spotted the shelf that the wine glasses were house and carefully placed it with them, before picking up the next wine glass and repeating the process until the wine glasses were all done. Sighing, she moved onto the tankards, finding that they belonged on a shelf underneath the wine glasses, then finally onto the mugs. "Where do you live, little mug..." she thought to herself. With the mugs, she wasn't sure at all where they belonged, and after a few moments of searching she found a fairly bare shelf tucked under the bar which held only three mugs. Grinning, she carefully dried each of the mugs and placed them with the three, before hearing somebody approach the bar. Before she turned around, she made sure to pull down her dress slightly so her bust was more visible, in the hope that it would aid in some subtle seduction. ~ |
