“huz-ahhhh! Hahahahah I made it!” Cheered Trios brandishing his cutlass and waving it in the air in celebration at the journey’s end.

It had been a long tiring journey and test of patience and will to not kill his guides that had lead him here. After all of the trickery, pointless idle chat and arrogance form the Drykas guides Trios thought it best to let them be for a while blow off steam buy working on his objective. Spending another second with them would test the Isu’s ability to refrain from punching them each in the face out of annoyance. Gods know-eth that they had deserved it!

Crossing the threshold into the encampment the Isurian had finally entered the Drykas’s tent city. Sheathing his cutlass and with spirits bolstered from the humiliating journey to the camp the Isur could now get the much needed supplies and shelter that he needed to survive here until he could captain his own ship.

“Now where is the market I’ve got loads to buy!” Laughed Trios in his cold manner his eye’s scanning the camp.

9 Day of Winter

Fade had been trailing along with a caravan headed to Endrykas, she was stiff from riding and sore.
She kept her head down until some commotion drew her back to the world, as she looked up she spotted Endrykas the migrating tent city. She smiled to herself as she patted Cahira’s neck as they continued onwards through the grass plain.

They approached the Knotted Gates, their course monitored by guardsmen astride noble Striders. Her eyes drifted along the moving city. She had come here to start again or learn new things that she could use. Off all the places she could go she had chosen Endrykas, a decision which had come easy but she couldn’t explain it to herself now. She inhaled the smell of the city, the cooking fires the grass and the horses. The guards let them pass nodding at their Drykas guards. And all at once entered the knotted gates she felt totally at a loss but the sensation passed as her mind was occupied with urgent matters such as food and training. She hadn’t been training a lot while travelling and she was all stiff and sure, she grimaced at the thought of having to get in stride again.

5th day of winter

Guides (still ongoing though): http://www.mizahar.com/forums/topic6231.html

Conrad had a big smile on his face as he walked through the knotted gates. Not bothered by the guards that were looking at him like a possible thread.
"Finally we got to endryakas!" Conrad laughed, his parrot giving a confirming squawk. rubbing his beak in a friendly way against his cheek. He just gave the parrot a pat on the head.
"I was lucky that I ran into those women when I did wasn't I" Conrad continued to ramble to his parrot as he entered the city."Otherwise I would just be a half rotten corpse right now. Now lets see how different this city is from riverfall. Conrad said with a big smile on his face.

She rode through the gate feeling a little bit like a slave fleeing freedom. The trip to Endrykas had been a quick one, especially mounted on her fleet little buckskin strider. He'd made short work of the journey which was a good thing since she'd told no one other than Aweston and Raiha at Sanctuary she'd be gone. Kavala didn't want to worry anyone, but truthfully to get her breeding program off the ground, she needed to find a stallion that suited her needs. Sivak, her Seme stallion was a great size builder, and Windsong was good for speed, but they didn't exactly have the qualities she needed in a horse to start a new breed for Riverfall. Hatot also had a Zavian stallion, but again he wasn't exactly what Kavala was looking for. And truth be told, she couldn't tell someone exactly what she was looking for, only what she wasn't looking for and that was some of the qualities she already had in stallions.

But, thankfully, Kavala would know it when she found it.

Endrykas was the place to look. And while she was here she could stay at her Father's Pavilion and visit with him a day or two while she searched. So she rode through the gates and headed for the Sapphire Clan encampment to pay her respects before she got really busy with the business at hand.

  • Kavala is a Konti but was raised in the Drykas culture so her accent is entirely Pavi though she can speak Common, Pavi, and Tukant well. She's only conversational in Kontinese.

68th Winter 510AV

It was a ridiculous whim, one that made the Akontak's heart race as fast as a pounding drum on the eve of war. Daeva found the Sea of Grass to be breathtakingly beautiful, a wonder to behold in such a vast wealth of clear skies and endless landscape. She was away from the wretched forest of the wildlands, and the akontak was genuinely glad. Masou had accompanied her for a while before heading off to do his own hunting for the remainder of the day, and once he had had his fill, he would return to the hand of Daeva once more. An eager companion, especially with the bombardment of new scents.

The akontak, one would suppose, was lucky, for instead of meeting the usual bandit or two on the roads, she met what appeared to be a sun-kissed woman on a beautiful horse. She had asked her if she was lost, to which Daeva only gave a smirk and responded with, "If by lost you mean I have no petching idea where I'm going? You'd be correct."

You have such a way with words.

Just shut your mouth.

Daeva wasn't sure if the woman was shocked by her appearance (after all a blue woman that was not an Akalak seemed beyond ordinary) or if she had been simply hospitable. The woman offered to show her to the grand city of Endrykas, home of the Drykas, and Daeva, grudgingly fond of all things new and untold, obliged. She followed the woman far until they arrived at the knotted gates, where the akontak felt the eyes of hundreds of men and women boring into her skin. Unsettling, and almost irritating.

And there were tents, tents everywhere! As far as the eye could see. With men, women, children, horses, dogs, all mulling about. Off to their own business or whatever matters they needed taken care of. The woman turned and spread her arms open, and in a grand voice she announced,

"Welcome to the city of Endrykas!"

Postby Isham on January 28th, 2011, 7:35 pm

70th of Winter, 510 AV

Isham fumed beneath his calm exterior as Efram crested yet another hill in this fabled Sea of Grass. It was unsettling, being among this much green when for so long he had known only the drab shades of the desert. The air felt much too wet, and the tall grass seemed to press in on him from all sides like a collapsing dune. Efram didn't seem to mind it much, the camel seemed to have little problem adjusting to the change in climate, and indeed, almost seemed to welcome the abundance of food. More than once Isham had had to kick the obstinate beast back into motion when he had stopped to graze. The relationship between boy and camel was...complicated at best. Sometimes, Isham swore by Yahal that the stubborn animal tried to irritate him on purpose!

However, despite the reliability of his vexing boat-of-the-desert companion, Isham was hopelessly lost among the grasslands of Cyphrus. He had heard that one could not safely navigate the Sea of Grass without a Drykas guide, but had dismissed that as mere rumor. As always, Yahal would provide. Keeping his face resolute, Isham clucked at Efram and shook the reigns, moving the camel forward once more in its graceful, almost gliding motion. Isham felt a prickling between his shoulderblades that was not from his resting ponytail. Someone was watching him, he was almost certain of it. Quickly he wrapped the black cloth of his veil about his face, leaving only his eyes exposed as he withdrew his shortbow, notching an arrow as his face surveyed the waving green all around him.

Suddenly, with a thunder of hooves, Isham was surrounded by a group of four Drykas warriors, probably scouts or outriders. "You are foolish to travel alone, outsider," a particularly burly looking male, likely the leader, spoke in Common. "What is your purpose here?" Isham drew himself up, slowly undoing the veil from his face and replacing his arrow in the quiver at his saddle. "I am merely a traveler on my way north. I had hoped to find the city of Endrykas, and travel with them for a season or two."

The Drykas simply stared at him for a moment, making strange gestures with his fingers at the other riders. Finally, after what seemed an eternity of Isham holding his breath, the men nodded. "We will take you to Endrykas, desert man. Follow." With that, he turned his horse, a truly magnificent animal, and trotted off through the grass. Clucking furiously at Efram, Isham pulled the reigns on the camel to follow them.

The journey was not long, perhaps an hour, thought it felt like an eternity. These riders were not the most talkative folk, and they kept casting strange looks at Isham's camel. When at long last they came upon the sprawling tents, Isham was struck by how curiously the city resembled the Tents of his father. Kicking Efram faster, Isham followed the Drykas riders into the city, wondering at how lost he would have been had he continued alone. As always, Yahal had provided a way for the faithful.

72nd of Winter
(I will be having a grandfathered thread, and it would be polite if I left a sign that Jilitse of Sahova was here.)

Jilitse and Jasa'lah decided to join Aslode and the caravan in their entry into Endrykas. The weather in the Sea of Grass had been unkind for the past few days, and they were advised not to brave a winter tempest.

The horsemen were wary of the undead, but traveling with Jilitse for the last season had proven that, while she was not exactly very sociable neither was she a threat to them. She actually proved to be polite and somewhat friendly. She was an unusual Nuit, something about her made her less fearsome. Maybe it was her demeanor? Or maybe some of them trusted her more once they learned that she bore the mark of Priskil. Her story was not hidden from some of the members of the caravan, and some of them wished her luck for her endless travels ahead.

Even before they came to the Knotted Gates of Endrykas, Jilitse and Jasa'lah had already separated their belongings from the traveling group. "It would be better to travel with a wagon," Jasa'lah had said, "we aren't exactly traveling lightly. I do not want to burden our horses. Actually... it would be more advisable to travel with a camel. The desert would be very unkind to our rides. It gets really dry, and water is not very abundant in Eyktol."

She tossed Jasa'lah's words in the air. The man had a knack for suggesting ways on how to spend money. No wonder he lost his family's wallet when he went to Syliras. Still, she said, "Somebody should make undead horses."

Jasa'lah's gave her an uncertain smile. She turned it into a frown by saying, "They won't whine about not getting food or water or rest." She laughed a hoarse laugh, "I was merely humoring you. You always claim that I am too stiff, too serious." She chuckled to herself, satisfied with annoying her friend. He'll be sure to come up with something in retort, so Jilitse started moving forward, leaving the Benshiran to pack their belongings properly.

I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common woman with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.

Postby Anila on April 4th, 2011, 2:04 am

Almost there! A smile split Anila's face as she stared up at the entrance of Endrykas, backdropped by a blue sky and mildly grey clouds. The wind gently blew her hair back, a cold nip which flushed her pale cheeks. Spring scents were carried on it, tickling her senses. One hand lay solidly against the leather of her gilding's saddle, fingers curled loosely around the horn.

Her cloak lay draped over her, shielding her from the climate. Hazel eyes scanned the distance, flickering with both excitement and caution. Inside her moccasins, her toes furled and unfurled. Her long hair was curled back into a braid, though little strands had escaped and hung around her face, framing it.

"Gremian, get back over here!" her voice cut the silence such as a knife through cheesecake and echoed back eerily. Quite aways away, the fox looked up, ears perked before trotting back towards her general direction. Overhead several birds flew from the trees, squaking angrily to be interupted of their daily activities. The gilding's body tensed, orbs searching for the commotion. Anila barely heard it, too absorbed in her own thoughts.

Such a distance to have covered from her family's home to here.. To, Endrykas, where her race lived and she hoped to make a start, preferably, if she could find them, with the Diamond Clan. Whether it be in wrestling or healing, though she hoped for something with animals, Anila would take it.

"We're here... We're finally here," she whispered, lips forming the words as if that would make it anymore realistic. Grabbing her reins, Anila lead both her gilding and her fox to the entrance, still in awe, sliding through it into the streets of Endrykas.

Postby Bright Detone on May 1st, 2011, 4:47 pm

Bright was only just returning from his three day herb gathering trip, that he had taken upon himself to do. He had learned much on this voyage, and is hoping that he can use this new found knowledge to better himself as a healer.

As he drew nearer to the Knotted Gates of his home, he could hear the voices and sounds of the people and animals that dwelled within. Drawing nearer he could see the smoke of fires rising above the gate, and smell the well cooked meal being prepared. His stomach suddenly felt a little more empty. A good meal sounded nice right about now.

With silent intent he passed through the gates and headed out for his families section of the tents, where he knew his sister's were waiting for him.

Postby Raven Black on May 14th, 2011, 3:35 am

Raven Black stumbled a few more steps. Her feet and body were getting weaker. She was in the sea of grass for too long. Her head started to spin.

Just keep going a little further.

Raven knew she needed to find help. She was safe in the grass for such a long time and the she ran into the Glass Beaks. In the night, her fire went out and they came. The Glass Beaks attacked.

Raven wandered to Sea of Grass looking for salvation. She found a gate and started to head towards it. She was certain she was just dying and seeing things before she died. Her legs gave out and she fell down. Gasping for breath, Raven Black got back up. She needed to get help and this was her last chance.

She stumbles the rest of the way. Feeling the gate she wandered in and fell. Raven made it this far. The gate was real. Now she was in a real city! Raven now had the goal of getting help and some more food.
