Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 17 Appearance: Rionne is a young woman with a diminutive stature, though obviously not one who is a stranger to physical work. Beneath her deeply-tanned skin, wiry muscle runs along her limbs. Little visible fat clings to her flesh, a hint to the kind of lifestyle she lives. A narrow frame makes her gender almost indiscernible, if it weren't for the barest curve of her hips and chest, or the softness of her jaw. Her eyes are a brown so dark, one might mistake it for black in most circumstances. Tawny curls bleached a dull brown by frequent exposure to the sun fall to her shoulders, often a frizzy mess and kept tied back. Perching above her eyes are a pair of thick brows, while long lashes frame her eyes.

Birthday: Summer 7th, 499 AV Birthplace: Zeltiva Used to the relative silence of the waters, Rionne herself can be considered insecure, though most wouldn't be able to tell, and quiet in personality. That is, for the most part. Quick to offend, Rionne has the patience of an angered god--that is to say, little at all. She almost always seems to be looking for a fight, taking the smallest slights personally. True to the saying regarding sailors, when she opens her mouth, it's not uncommon for half of what she says to be profanity. Along with the cursing, she is generally blunt-spoken and prefers to cut straight to the point. She values honesty over most other things, but sometimes she may be a bit *too* honest, and has gotten into trouble for this multiple times over the years. Always having dreamed of studying in the University, Rionne has a curious mind. She acts first based on her feelings, or for the satiation of her curiosity. Always interested in hearing about past expeditions and topics regarding the known geography of the surrounding lands, she often speaks with her father about such things. She dreams to one day sail the seas as the captain of her own ship, and not just as a simple deckhand.

History

Born to a seafarer and a seamstress, Rionne lived as regular a childhood as one can have in Zeltiva, Mizahar. She often frequented the docks or the market, depending on which of her parents might've snagged her away to do some work. Her father was away frequently, though when he did come home, he often took Rionne out fishing, sailing the waters close to the shore. As she grew older and begged for her father to do so, her father would bring her out more often, teaching her the ways of the sea. Rionne loved it. She loved the smell of the salty waters, the sea splashing against her face, the constant rocking of the ship, the frequent curse spat out. Soon, she began entertaining dreams of sailing out even further, traveling the known and unknown. A curiosity developed within her, a thirst to know what was out there. The few Kontinese women she'd come across about the docks were an incredible intrigue to her, and often she bothered those foreign to Zeltiva about the lands beyond her — in her mind — ever-shrinking homeland. Her mother had grumbled when Rionne brought up her desire to leave home one day, stating that without her husband and her child around, who would help carry loads of goods to and fro the market? She'd smiled sadly soon after, returning to her quiet stitching. The thought of actually seeing places she'd only ever heard about before was thrilling to Rionne--but it terrified her, too. She hadn't admitted it to anyone, but she feared the idea of leaving the familiarity of home, of being far from her mother and her father. In her hesitance, Rionne's mind drifted towards studies. Admittedly, this was partially so that she might push aside the thought of leaving home. A large part of her wished to own her own ship, as well, and captain a crew. How else would she gain such a thing but to study in one of the most renowned universities? It was a distant dream that Rionne found herself slowly gravitating towards.
