The Cursed Children
of Morwen

Greetings Mizaharians!

It has come to our attention that the Goddess Morwen has refused to do her duty this Season and walk forth from Avanthal where she resides to spread winter across the land. This is an insult to us, the rest of the Seasons, and irresponsible to the core. There is no reason, great or small, for a Season to shirk their duty. And this is definitely what has happened.

There will be repercussions.

We have hired an elite group of people to make sure these repercussions happen. We have the support of the other Gods in this endeavor. We will hunt down every follower of Morwen - every single marked member of her 'family' - and call for their death. Yes. We are calling for the outright slaughter of Morwen's children until such a time as Morwen resumes her duty or steps aside.

We prefer that She steps aside and gives her powers over to another.

To this end will will send PRIESTS and PRIESTESSES of our faith to every city in the land. To assure the success of this venture, these followers will be paying a bounty on the bodies of any follower turned into them. A coin payoff of 1,000 Mizas will be the reward.

Without Winter happening, the land becomes seriously damaged. Snow packs don't accumulate so drought is guaranteed in the Spring and Summer of the land. Wildfires will abound. Insects will flood the land unchecked. They will damage crops and forests without mercy. Spring plants will bloom early and often miss the windows of their pollinators. Seeds that depend on winter freeze will not germinate. Animal migrations will be off schedule and some will starve and die. The predator season of plenty will not occur so that predators will be forced to move into population centers to find easier foodstuff and raze these areas.

We will show no Mercy to Morwen or Her followers for this gross derelict of duty. If She refuses to step down, we will be forced to replace her anyhow and we will do it with the strongest display of power we see during this manhunt. No one will be safe. And if someone is caught offering shelter to the Vantha marked by Morwen, such as a city or group, we will turn our wrath on them as well and include them in the bounty. Look for our Priests and Priestesses. Show them respect. Enjoy collecting the bounties they offer.

Lessons must be learned.

Bala, Tavasi & Sivah

Tavasi
ImageName: Marta Longlein
Race: Human
DoB: 3rd Spring, 491
PoB: Karjin
Title: Priestess of the Spring God
Skills: Leadership 65, Tattooing 71, Painting 35, Weapon (Throwing Dagger): 55, Writing: 35, Weaponsmithing: 40.
Gnosis: Innovia lvl 3
Additional Info:
Marta is a born-and-bred follower of Tavasi. She was born in the God's own city, but left when she turned sixteen to preach his will throughout Mizahar. She is a firm believer in creating things and loves art, literature, and hard work. Fiercely competitive, Marta made her name as a talented marksman before turning her hand to tattooing. After recently recieving her third mark of Innovia, the woman now fills her heart with the desire to bring the world to rights, and aims to hunt down as many Vantha as she can. She's hot-headed and impulsive, and wouldn't hesitate to follow through with whatever her God wished.

Sivah
ImageName: Garath Morgan Trenavi
Race: Human
DoB: 1st Autumn, 478
PoB: Syliras
Title: Priest of Sivah
Skills: Weapon (Bastard Sword): 65, Weapon (Longbow): 50, Weapon (Snake Spear): 45, Socialisation: 70, Leadership: 45, Persuasion: 40, Seduction: 40, Acting: 50, Vinting: 32.
Gnosis: Sivah's gnosis lvl 3, Illusionism lvl 2
Additional Info: Garath was born to two what he considered boring knights in the thriving city of Syliras. He had what some would call a misspent youth, constantly getting into trouble with the law, partying and drinking and generally making a nuisance of himself. It got so bad that the man was forced to leave Syliras. The next stop on his journey was Alvadas, and he's stayed here ever since. He is a well-known face in the right circles, a man known to host the most wickedly decadent parties that often leave the more sensitively minded people scandalised. Throughout all, the man is a fervent believer in the Summer God, who has blessed the man with his greatest feature. His arrival in Alvadas also caught the attention of the trickster god, who sensed that something was not quite right behind the easy-going act that Garath put on. Parties that he hosted regularly featured 'accidents' that always somehow lead to Garath' benefiting.
Image
At his side constantly runs a hunting dog. Garath uses Ionu's gift to disguise his dog as a wolf, dressed in flourishing leaves of Sivah's Summer. Garath simply calls him, "Dog".

Bala
ImageName: Veranai Atana
Race: Inarta
DoB: Summer 71st, 486
PoB: Alvadas
Title: Priestess of Bala
Skills: Weapon (Talon Sword):65, Sewing: 32, Agriculture: 60, Tanning: 25, Teaching: 35, Glassblowing: 25, Animal Husbandry: 50, Farming: 56.
Gnosis: Cultivation lvl 3.
Additional Info:

Of Inartan parents living in Alvadas, Veranai has had a quiet life. Gifted a beautiful talon sword as a child, Vera has practised daily to get where she is now. Fond of a good laugh and a hearty meal, Vera is mostly quiet and retiring, but her true passion shines through when she is working the land. For a long period of time, the woman spent her days in the fields of the Mithryn Outpost, but returns now to her hometown on Bala's orders.

On the 2nd of Winter, notices are posted throughout Alvadas, and the three representatives of Bala, Tavasi, and Sivah introduce themselves through various means (talks, spreading the rumour, etc). It takes little time for this story to get out, and soon the three are inundated with questions, accusations, and in some cases outright abuse. Yet their message is soon found to be genuine, and this leaves the governmental forces of Alvadas scurrying to come up with an official stance.

The Seamstress is the first to speak up, standing in support with the three priests and priestesses. She tells her dedicated followers that not only is it Ionu's will that this order is undertaken, but to consider what her punishment would be for those that caused the kind of destruction Morwen has caused through inaction. Needless to say, her followers take her words to heart.

It takes a little longer for the other Speakers to speak up, causing confusion amongst their followers. Wanting to provide a united front, they eventually join together to put on a play at the Crooked Playhouse lambasting Morwen. Yet their message isn't entirely clear, and some are left wondering where they truly stand. The play, on the 48th, is well-advertised and has free entry.

On the 30th, the Sheathewhisps make their intentions clear. They capture one Vantha woman and hand her over to Marta, Garath and Veranai for them to deal with. Yet after this, the group has an internal fight, and some members leave for good, severely reducing the 'Whisps effectiveness. The remaining members hunt rather ineffectually for whatever Vantha are left in the city, without much luck.

OOC:

The priests of the Seasons are only to be self-modded upon approval of an NPC Vantha kill. Otherwise, unless there was anything specifically PM-worthy to ask, please do not roleplay them. However, they each have 3 acolytes/servants that accompany them, which you can use to get further information, as long as you do not name them or fully describe them. All wear somewhere on them a symbol representing the god/goddess that they follow. This could be a wheat sheaf for Bala, blossoming flower for Tavasi, etc. The information is mostly just what it written on the notices, also a bit about Morwen's crimes and what they require from you to give the bounty (proof, like the whole Vantha, or just the gnosis mark on the skin cut off (grisly, I know)).

Please note: the killing of Vantha NPCs is permitted, provided you fully write up the NPC beforehand. There is a limit of one NPC for each person. Please PM me if you wish to take a stab (quite literally, lol) at one of the already existing Vantha NPCs in the city. These are:

It is much preferred to kill these already existing NPCs than making new ones just to kill. Each and every kill must be approved by me first before being roleplayed. Any successful kill will receive the bounty.

Klarress, of Ionu's Stand is exempt. Please do not use this NPC in a thread if death is the outcome.

Please leave a link to the thread(s) involving this Vantha/Morwen storyline, so that we can collect our findings and see what horrors we get up to! This includes saving Vantha storylines too, as I know there are some of you who are wanting to do this.

NOTE: There are roughly 200 Vantha spread throughout the entirety of actual Mizahar, which means there are probably only about 20 Vantha in Alvadas. Please make sure you portray this accurately in your threads. 7 of these will be holed up in Morwen's Ice Palace. The remaining 13 are scattered around. I'll keep track in the post below.

Any questions, post them here for all to see. Thanks, and good luck out there!

The Stance of the Speakers

Severus the Serpent

Image- Publicly: The Serpent is a cool, refreshing breeze of a man, prone to observations and fierce judgements once truly provoked. Before the play at the Crooked Playhouse, Severus' opinion is not known. He makes it known on the 48th via the play that he is against Morwen. On the 52nd, Severus launches a blistering attack on a man who thought to stand against the priests and priestesses of the Seasons, making it clear that although he isn't going out and finding Vantha to kill, he is certainly supporting the other Seasons in their quest to bring Morwen back out into Mizahar.

- Stance: Not particularly fond of murder, Severus will tolerate the murder of Vantha but only just. Secretly, he wishes that the deaths could be avoided, but understands that a message needs to be sent. Those that kill Alvads, on the other hand, will be treated in much the same way as usual- their crimes will be met like with like by the Silencers. Severus will not hesitate to punish those who speak out against the cull- verbally, publicly, mortifyingly.

Aysu the Sea

Image- Publicly: Although Aysu will join in with the play against Morwen, she will mostly stay silent for the rest of the season. In recent times, the Sea has grown still, flat, as if the breeze has stopped and the oceans have deadened. A sadness will appear on her face from time to time. Mostly, Aysu will be dealing more and more intensely with the more petty crimes that still exist in Alvadas. Her Speaker's Events will be amusing, embarrassing for those being punished, but hardly ever touching on the subject of Morwen and the Seasons. Any issues regarding this she would artfully direct them to one of the other Speakers.

- Stance: Although not going out of her way to protect the Vantha, the Sea would make sure that she is less careful with her information gathering than usual. Anything she does find out she would pass along, in an unusual move, to the other Speakers. For her, it is distasteful to murder the Vantha, as she considers any who live in Alvadas to be an Alvad.

Kaleo the Mockingbird

Image- Publicly: Kaleo seems to join with Sanjanya the Seamstress. During the play, his words and actions seem to direct much spite towards Morwen. Afterwards, he is active in finding those who are actively protesting against the murders. His punishments are a confusing display, but his stance is just as confusing. One day, seeming to empathise with the Vantha's plight, and other days spent lambasting Morwen and her ilk. His Speaker's Events range from downright angry, to a more lilting display of trickery and mocking. Not afraid to show his support, he believes that as Ionu is against Morwen, then he should be too.

- Stance: As above.

Sanjanya the Seamstress and Iman the Tailor

ImageImage- Publicly: On the 21st, Sanjanya captures someone who was trying to find Vantha to protect, and puts on a show for all who wish to see. By the end of it, the man is left blind when before he was sighted. Her speech centers around the stance of Ionu, and the crime of slacking on a job. She derides any who think it is okay to neglect their duties, and actively tries to help the Season's priests in their duty. The play is mostly organised by her and Iman, who supports her views. The Speaker's Events put on by these two are particularly targeting those who wish to help the Vantha.

- Stance: As above.

Ersal Byrde, Lady of Swords

Image- Publicly: Ersal and her Sheathewhisps tend to keep themselves separately from the rest of the Speakers, yet are still connected to them. On the 30th however, Ersal captures a Vantha and delivers them to the Season's priests and priestesses. After this, the group effectively splits in two, one half leaving for good and the remaining half dedicated to helping the priests and priestesses.

- Stance: Ersal herself is completely dedicated to the city and to Ionu. Ionu is against Morwen, so she feels that this is her course of action too. Secretly, she also worries about the threats that the Seasons pose to the city, and fears that if Alvadas doesn't comply, then they will feel something along the lines of last Winter's horrors. As such, she feels that killing the Vantha is just the hardline way to make sure Alvadas as a whole stays safe.
