Phira laughed at his words, "Quite. Though I can't say this blessing has served any purpose other than being a nice way to lure people in." she said teasingly.

A smile crept on her face as he continued on. She would take his boasting words about his race as a win for her, even though she could still hear the skepticism in his voice. She shrugged her shoulder,
"I have no idea about human evolution or any kind of evolution, but I do know that humans are an amazing race." Maybe to him the grass was greener on the other side, which was fine, as long as he saw how green his side of the fence was. That small little boost of pride in his words showed her that he saw a little green, so she wouldn't press the issue any further.

She looked him up and down, well being a mercenary would explain the weaponry he was carrying around. She nodded and tucked her hair behind her ear,
"I understand completely. I used to have to prostitute to get by even a little. she said understanding completely what it was like to do anything you needed to make it through another day.

She gave him a little smile,
"I have a great job now at the Surf and Turf. If you haven't been there it's amazing! Right on the beach and is overlooking the Rainbow Caldera. she advertised. She knew it was just a barmaid job, but it was better than never knowing if you got a bad customer or not. And it paid better...most of the time.

His last little sentence didn't go unnoticed by her. On the contrary, her heart began to speed up. Those few chivalrous words were could be so dangerous if they mean what she thinks they mean. She smiled and hooked her arm through his,
"You are very noble person. I am glad I met an alike soul who would help those who are troubled and unfortunate. she hinted back at him. He was certainly trying to tell her something, and she would feel silly if it wasn't what she was thinking it was.

She growled softly in frustration just thinking about her first few days in this city.
"A little too much fun. Even for 20 people it was far too much fun to have. But I am growing to like it little by little every day. she said in contentment. This city took some getting used to, more than other cities, but it was worth it. This city was unlike any other in the whole of Mizahar, and that excited her that she could be apart of it.

She listened intently as he explained them then put them back in his shirt. She smiled at his tone when he showed her his sigil for Nikali. She ran her hands up and down his arm slowly,
"Passion and pleasure hmm? Well I can confidently say that there will be a lot of that going on soon. she purred and let his memories remain his.

She eyes closed and she shivered in delight when he began whispering in her ear, even if it was about what it was. His breath still hot on her ear, she turned her head and looked up at him, her lips just inches from his
"I am betting on helping no matter the odds. she whispered into his mouth, as she looked into his green eyes. She smiled and turned her head back to the path ahead.

She could feel her body flush with heat. She hoped they got to someone's room soon. She didn't want this heat to go away before she could use it. She barely heard his first words because she was lost in her thoughts of what the night might have in store for her, but she heard him say about being hard to get in to the Wolf's Cave. She forgot about that tidbit of information. She bit her lip,
"That's right. Well if we are approached then maybe we can lie about you being a kelvic. Or if you want we could sneak you in through the back door. Usually Korin is out back chopping wood, but it's night, so to speak, so he should be inside helping Mikah out behind the counter. But they are wolves, so they will smell you from a mile away unless you smell like something else. she said pausing to see which option he wanted to take.
So my computer hasn't been acting up lately and I am going to give posting a shot. So if you are still here and have been waiting for me to reply, thank you for your patience, and thank you for being understanding. I will get to them as soon as I can ;)

“I can see how you’d be luring in people with them they are rather unique.” His words weren’t meant in a flirting manner but that was how they seemed to come out.

“Eh evolution is basically something that happens slowly. But since it takes so long it’s not really worth going over.” He let the topic slide about the humans. However the comment about having to prostitute herself brought a bit of a dark pall to his features. “y’know you’re the second Kelvic that I’ve met that has done that. And she was also a large cat type Kelvic too.” He let the comment hang in the air not like a challenge but letting her know that she wasn’t alone in that regard. Though when she continued on about her job he could see why she was in such good spirits. “Any job that you can be happy about is one that’s worth doing.” His words were met and received with small air of endearment.

As her arm slipped into his won he caught her actions and it seemed as if she’d cottoned onto what he was saying about protecting people. Her words seemed to corroborate the feeling he’d garnered. Even as she held tightly onto his arm. “It’s not really nobility in the situation. It’s more the feeling of an obligation.” He spoke in such a way that he was a little worried that a part of his actual nobility might tumble free from him. Tipping her off to the fact he was more than just a simple merc. Still though the small growl she let out in her human form was oddly cute. Not quite in cat form is it didn’t have the implication of anger that it may have supposed to have been. “Alvadas has that effect. It’s growing on me as well but not in the best of ways.” He spoke with a tone that seemed less annoyed than hers yet was understanding of where she was coming from.

At her comment of who Nikali was Alex held back from saying anything particularly intrusive instead opting for a rather soft spoken smile, of just knowing. However when she swung around and held her face inches from his own lips barely a few centimetres away at this point she spoke as her eyes held a look on his own. And for a minute he almost had a flashback to a dream of his. “You’ll just have to wait and see. Won’t you?” He spoke back with another soft smirk.

Despite that he could feel the warmth running through her despite being wrapped in only his jacket. However her plan to try and smuggle him in was something he’d thought of but he held a moment considering the options. “Either of those options of there is always the option if simply saying I’m a guest of yours? Perhaps that would work enough? If I’m not staying and have a reason to go iside perhaps they’d let me?” His reasoning was sound after all when accompanied by someone it often made gaining entry much easier.

Phira winked at him and then frowned,"Yes well as good as they are at that, they aren't good at picking the right people to lure in. I have been far too lucky with luring in friendly people. I know some people who draw the wrong attention from the wrong people." she said with a frown. But she shook her head and managed to smile up at him as to not ruin the mood, "I got lucky again today. You seem like a charming man." she said hoping she feeling that she was't wrong.

He explained evolution, and she listened but still didn't get it. But she didn't say anything because now was not the time to let him know that she just didn't understand something unless she could do it and experience it. He went dark and she wondered if she said something wrong, and began speaking of another kelvic that had to prostitute. Her bright features dimmed a bit too,
"I have learned that on the mainland unbonded kelvics are more often than not slaves. At least that has been the case in the places I've been. I would rather prostitute my entire life than be a slave to any one for a single day. she said with conviction. There was no way she was going to do a job without getting paid for it. As greedy as that sounded, there was nothing scarier to her then not being free.

She liked how he worded it. Yes it wasn't the most thrilling of jobs, but it did make her happy to do for now. It was nice to do while she was trying to find whatever she was supposed to find in life.
"I think so too and I am happy. But I still want more. In fact I want as much as I can get. she said seriously but with an air of lightness so the mood wouldn't turn too serious.

"It's not really nobility in the situation. It's more the feeling of an obligation." he said while obviously holding something in. She arched an eyebrow at him,
"I won't pry but your obligations certainly look noble. she said and shrugged her shoulder, "But I suppose you can't judge a book by it's cover." she said quoting her friend Remy from Sunberth. She had no idea what that meant until the mysterious librarian told her. It was one of her favorite sayings, even though she never really got to used it.

She held back a smile as he spoke about the city. It was hard to adapt to a city that constantly changed. But she found that if she didn't think too hard about why and just accepted it as it was then the city became far easier to deal with.
"It just takes a lot of patience while keeping in mind that this city doesn't abide by the rules of nature. she advised. It wasn't much advice but it worked for her.

His mysterious words were received with another small growl.
"Tease. she said under her breath. When he told her his way of getting in to the Wolf's Den she laughed, "Of course! I am just so used to sneaking around I didn't even think of just asking. Straight and simple. I like it. she explained herself. Usually she sneaked in and out of most places, just a habit she picked up ever since she lived in Zeltiva. You only need to be caught by the wife once to learn to never take more than a few seconds getting out of the house. Of course she rarely ever went back to a clients house, and hooking a married client was even more rare than that, but it did happened more than once; and once was all it took to learn to move silently.

She began pulling him towards where the Wolf's Den should be and as they turned the corner...

OOCI will let you decide whether or not they find it there or not...sorry XD

The frown and words which followed. “Luck. Luck is what some people have in spades and others seem to be scrounging for it at every turn.” He smirked implying he was one of those without luck. However at her comment towards him he tilted his head looking at her a little sideways. “How can you be so sure?” He spoke with atone that was oddly enticing almost drawing her to ask more but cautioning her not too. Her words about rather selling herself than living as a slave he could see her point there.

“I see where you’re coming from there Phira...” Alex spoke with a quiet resignation knowing that he used to live in one of the cities that didn’t just promote slavery but had kind of cornered the market on it. “I’m sorry to hear that though… I didn’t know Kelvics had it so tough…” His voice seemed to trail off into nothing as he continued walking alongside her. And at his response to her being happy with her job he couldn’t help but give a small smile again that practiced one that looked so close to genuine it was scary. “That’s good to hear. And it’s never a bad thing to want more out of life.”

“That’s right never judge by appearances. I did and almost caused a very serious incident a few minutes ago instead of having the company of a lovely young woman.” And as the conversation flowed into Alvadas’s ever shifting nature he simply responded. “It’s easier to find where you’re going when you aren’t actively looking for it, I find at least.” He gave a slight and subtle knowing smirk. And the second growl accompanied by a single word. One that made his smirk grow a little.

And she was right they’d just have to see when they arrived. As they rounded the corner the wolves cave loomed upon them the Look he got from the gate keeper was one that he fully expect to come his way. An almost condescending look of superiority. One he was used too and all he gave him back was a quaint smile of “back off buddy" edged with the intimidation it warranted less a roaring flame just that underlying feeling that something was just plain wrong with him. He was exuding the feeling that the Apex predator gives off.

Instead of speaking Alex let Phira talk and instead simply let the sheer presence he gave off, enough to say everything.

She threw him a mock frown and some sad eyes,"Poor thing. Maybe meeting me is your luck turning around. At least for tonight." she ended in a knowing smile. His next question was daring her to answer, yet the tone in which he said it told her not to. She ran her tongue over her fangs and gave him a 'we'll-see' look.

"...I didn't know Kelvics had it so tough." he spoke with a sort of sympathy that came from knowing how bad slaves had it. She shrugged and furrowed her brows,
"I can't speak for all Kelvics, but there is a sort of need deep down inside me that wants me to serve. So I understand why Kelvics are popular slaves to keep. It's a sick sort of irony." she spoke slowly trying to find the right words to explain. It was deeper than just being told what to do, it was a hole that needed to be filled and a need that had to be sated. As far as she knew only bondmates could do those things, at least that is what her mother had told her.

She gave a slight nod and returned his smile. She knew she could get him to smile. It was unpracticed, and a little off, but it was still a smile.
"I hope you are happy. And if you aren't, I hope you find what makes you happy. For tonight I hope that's me." she said genuinely.

She laughed heartily,
"And I wouldn't have had the company of a to be determined 'charming' man." His advice with navigating the city was as sound as any. Not really caring where she was going what how she found the Wolf's Cave her first few days here, maybe he was on to something. His growing smirk made her happier and happier. She liked making people happy, and like making people who normally didn't smile, smile. She didn't know how often he smiled or how often he was happy, she could only go by the few conversations they had to know that his life needed more happy moments.

When they approached the gate of the Wolf's Cave she could feel the testosterone oozing out from the two men. She watched the two and wondered how Alex was going to handle it. Alex's subtle smile and the feeling like he could pounce at any minute was far more attractive to her than any out right display of dominance. And the fact that the gate keeper didn't pounce could attribute to the fact that Alex was prepared for any sort of fight thrown his way.

She approached the the gate keeper who she knew to be a shark Kelvic of some kind,
"It's alright, he's my friend." she explained simply, hoping that it was enough to let him by.

The shark sniffed the air as his eyes ran up and down her form, "Yer 'friend' has a lot of weapons on him. Ya wouldn't be sneaken' him in to hunt one of yer own would ya?" he said surprisingly smooth for how gruff he looked.

She gave him a breathy laugh,
"He had the chance to catch me, the prettiest animal here, and he managed to refrain himself. I think everyone else is safe. I promise that he is here for a friendly visit is all." Her words were thick and her smile knowing. She began pulling him in towards her room ignoring all the other gazes on them.

The mocking frown wasn’t lost on him and the fake sadness in her look was enough to let him know she was still tempting him. And as much as the temptation to just leap into something was there Alex just enjoyed the view. “We’ll see wont we?” His tone shifted between the first sentence and the second. “After all, it is just going to be the two of us…” He let his words trial off almost inviting her to question them.

Though her words about Kelvics needing to serve somewhat startled him. “I think I see where you’re coming from there. Like something that you can’t help but do.” Alex was speaking from a very different perspective however his was from the angle of protection rather than servitude but wasn’t that within the same vein of thought? Though she was a lot sharper with her notice than even he’d given her credit for. One of the first few people to see through his smile, through the mask. His expression changed a little, a more genuine tint to the edge of his smile now.

“I can’t really allow myself to be happy. It breeds complacency. And if I get complacent, I get stagnant.” His words weren’t the whole truth but hopefully was enough of it to let her know he couldn’t give the real reasons but that it wasn’t because he didn’t have the reasons to be. Though her words about him being “happy with her” made his mind snap back to someone else. “Perhaps. Though the question is, will you be happy with what you’re getting yourself in for?” He teased her with his words knowing full well what probably was going to happen.

The battle between the two men spoke more than it should have as much as he could see the temptation to throw Alex out on his ass he could see that he knew better. One doesn’t simply poke the tiger when it’s sleeping. Perhaps these people knew it best dealing with Kelvics of all manners. And as much as he would have liked to stand there all night and compare masculinity, he had better things to do. So with a knowing smile as she pulled him past and led him to her room he just let the kelvic know he’d lost that round.

“Well…I could disarm every weapon I’ve got.” He spoke lightly as he walked with Phira. “But I don’t think that all of them would come off.” He spoke with a slight joke in his tone letting her lead him where she wanted to go. And as of yet in all the places in Alvadas he’d been, within this building wasn’t one of them.

"If you don't think so, then we can keep trying until you do feel lucky." she offered. She was ready for anything that he might throw her way. Anything. "Now the question is if I am as nice as I seem. The tone hinted at what the night could have in store for him if that was what he wanted. She could play all sorts of roles, it didn't really matter which he preferred.

She thought about it, and he was on the right train of thought.
"Something like that." Her mother said that kelvics that didn't find their bondmate in time become more feral than human, and that they were so irritable that anything could set them off. Her grandmother was supposedly this way because she didn't find her bondmate. That wasn't as scary of a thought as her mother made it seem. But she was still so young, she had a little more time to be on her own. She looked at the upturns of his mouth and it made her wonder about him. She wouldn't lie to herself, her life was amazing compared to a lot of people that she has met. She may not have a lot of money, and there had been time where she went days at a time with no food, but she had always been able to smile and laugh. But she barely knew him and asking such personal questions wouldn't be kindly received. But she would keep an ear open, as she did with all of her friends.

She shook her head in disagreement,
Happiness breeds strength. It's the joyous times that we look back at in times of struggle. Just because you are happy doesn't mean you have to stop wanting more or that you have to stop growing. I hope I am making some sort of sense." She couldn't always articulate her thoughts into words, but she always thought she made sense.

His next question made her smile again. She pretended to think about it for a few moments before she gave a small chuckle.
"That remains to be seen. But I can tell you that I plan on making you happy." she purred, again letting his imagination go where it will with that.

She laughed as she pulled him up to her room.
"Oh I bet I can get some of them off." she said with a completely different meaning. She unlocked her door and pulled him into her room before locking it behind her. It was a plain room as in she really didn't have any sort of personal things lying about. On the nightstand was just the spice box her parents gave her before leaving Black Rock, and folded on the chest at the end of her bed were her clothes. She sat down on her bed and crossed her legs, and waited patiently for him. She would let him chose how fast or slow things went.

Alex smirked and glanced towards Phira as he followed behind. “The problem with Happiness is as much as I know it’s supposed to help people. I can’t afford to be happy, I give happiness to everyone around me or at the very least a feeling of hope.” Alex followed her into her room with a small cautious step just something out of his former past creeping into him. Her words as usual held onto a simple thread from before. Even as she spoke about planning to make him happy. Alex just smirked allowing her to lock the door behind him and then motioned to walk around the room.

Promising about getting his weapons off of him. He knew almost immediately what she was talking about however held off on doing anything too drastic yet. Instead leaving her to walk to the bed. His eyes glazed the room lightly a box upon the end table. Her clothes neatly folded at the foot of it. And then her legs crossed as she sat down. Giving him a clear view. He didn’t let anything slip his notice especially a she pulled one of the chairs nearby over to sit opposite her. At the same time unbuckling the weapon harness that held his blades across him.

“So if I got what you were saying correctly.” He smirked and sat down opposite her setting his weapons on the back of the chair. “If I caught your wording right, you’re one of the ones looking after the vantha.” His open display of disarming himself before saying this should have told her enough to know that he was being genuine in his meaning and manner.

“We can have some fun later I just want to know who I’m getting into bed with, so to speak.” He ended with a smile leaving a knowing joke and comment to hang in the air. As he did he started to unbuckle the straps across his leather armour.

She blew a sigh of concern, "Can't afford it? Who told you that happiness cost something? She knew she shouldn't ask that question to someone she just met. But she couldn't let him think he needed to pay to be happy. She shook her head quickly before he could answer, "I'm sorry. It's just happiness is a necessity in life. If you aren't living life happily, then what are you doing? Helping people and giving them hope? What should people hope for if not to be happy? She knew she was speaking fast and she really didn't expect him to answer any of those things. She looked at his neck where his sigils rested against his chest, "If you have one of those sigil things for Syna, then maybe you should reflect on it. Ask yourself why you think you can't afford it or what is exactly is the cost of happiness. For today though, I will pay the price for you to be happy. she said. She would make him smile, maybe even make him laugh tonight no matter what price she had to pay.

She watched him with curious eyes as he pulled the chair opposite her. What could he possibly want to discuss right now? She watched him even closer when he began to take off his weapons then his armor. She hopped up and kneeled down in front of him,
"Let me help. she said began unbuckling the strap he didn't get to. Then he began speaking of the Vantha and finally asked her out right about her stance on the subject. He was smart in wanting to know who he was about to lie with. She could get him in trouble and vice versa.

She inhaled a sharp breath and gave him a little grin.
"Business before pleasure as it were. she quoted a business owner from Zeltiva that she knew. She sighed and took a deep breath before uttering the words she had never dared say allowed before now, "I want to be. So far all I can do is hope and pray for their safety. I don't really have the resources or the knowledge of this city to guide them away from harm. And everyone that I know avoids the subject or they out right bash them. She admitted to him only because from what she could tell from his words earlier he too was a sympathizer. Once she got his straps unbuckled she ran her hands down his chest, as she looked up at him, "You have to understand, I am not happy with Morwen, for all I care she can be stripped of her title. she said as she slid up his body in one, slow, fluid motion never taking her eyes off him, "But I am not going to stand by and watch as her people get punished for her wrongs. She said with authority. Her mind was made up and she wasn't going to be swayed from it, she just hoped she found a friend in Alex and no an enemy.
