I remember in chat that someone said bartering will be prominent in Syka. How would that affect mercenary type occupations and job threads? Do I hunt animals/monsters and artifacts in exchange for miza's, hide, or other items?

Also, Npc's! I had the craziest idea to have a few of the severely injured charoda become Syka Npc's after they are rescued and treated. Those that survive could stay in Syka while a few leave and spread the news of Syka's hospitality. The PC's that are involved could be deemed honorary heroes of Syka and given titles of their choosing so that they could be recognized by the masses?

Is the idea good?
Who's interested in the little dramatic, action thread?

I'm not sure how that would work Xen, but in theory it sounds good. Via a PC-PC basis I'm sure it's possible.

Also, the Charoda NPCs sound fun. Currently I have quite a few threads planned/going on so I'm not available for that, but all the best!

Hello there So I've made a plan for my character to take a journey from his current city (Syliras) to Syka. From my journey plan (which I'll admit is mostly guesswork) he'll be sailing for 8 days and will arrive in-game on the 58th, and will then stay ten days before the ship departs home. I'm looking to make the most of the journey to Syka, so if anyone would like to have a thread with me while I'm there PM me and we can sort something out. I'm particularly interested in exploring and treasure hunting, but I'm open to anything really. Additionally my intended way of getting to Syka was on a small merchant vessel that'd heard tell of the founding of Syka and is now exploring the possibility of trading with them. It is only a very small ship (a modified Catamaran probably) and will not bring any cargo with it (as they dont know what imports Syka needs) but would be looking to purchase samples of local nuts, spices etc. or other trade goods to bring back with them. If anyone wants to use this in their own posts feel free. (Gossamer if there is any problem with me doing this let me know and I'll change it immediately.) Thanks for reading. Additionally: let's get the ball rolling here, folks. Syka is so quiet at the moment, we all plot to ourselves but let's plot together! There are a tonne of brilliant things that Goss has got for us here, and all Syka needs now are writers, goddamnit! Where are y'all hiding?

Michael, I'd love to write with you if you're still around here. I know he's only 'passing through', but is he planning to pass through Syka again? Karin would be overjoyed to help build a trading fleet (I say that loosely, meaning one or two ships haha), once she's got the capabilities and the funds and suchforth.

One of the main things that would be amazing to set up properly would be the Sawmill. I spoke about it before, but wondered if the original responders were still around and still interested? If so, we should probably start planning what we're going to do with that in the Spring. Currently, I'm planning for Karin to fell her own trees and make them usable, but in the long run this isn't viable. A operating sawmill would benefit not only Karin's business, but everyone, I believe.

I also truly believe that everyone who lives in Syka should thread together... Really, it's because the settlement is so small that you would undoubtedly meet other people. Of course, there is an inherent sort of loneliness to the settler life, but that gives even more importance to human interaction. Being alone sucks, and that's coming from an introvert who really dislikes people. So, please chip in here, even if you haven't written in a while, if you're around. Then we can all know who's active and who isn't. Otherwise we're going off the character registry, and I don't know if a lot of them are still here..? *shrugs*

Anyway, happy plotting. I hope there are some people around, because I <3 Syka and I think it has so much potential. It makes me sad to see the inactivity. And if anyone's thinking of writing here, please do! Karin would welcome you with begrudging open arms! The more the merrier, as they say.

Dust is happy to participate in anything and everything, but I suspect I'm going to spend a lot of Spring catching up placeholders from the last couple seasons. If anyone wants a Winter thread with Dust I'm game, but I'm not going to commit to anything in Spring at this time.

I don't think that there's any problem with me still posting in Syka as long as the threads are timestamped between the 58th and 68th. Is there anything you'd like to make a thread about? Maybe some treasure hunting? Or perhaps something to do with ships since Karin's a shipwright and Michael's a sailor?

Michael, do you have any goals for your character that you'd like to develop? Karin is not actually a shipwright yet, although she will be. I'd be happy to talk about ships though, if you wanted. Hooray for end of season plotting!
