A half-collapsed city of alabaster and gold fiercely governed by Eypharians. Even partially ruined, it is the crown of the desert and a worthy testament to old glories and rising powers.

About This Book

From the author, Hasprita Kuni

Welcome to Ahnatep, the City of Beauty Above All, where the Eypharian race rules with grace and skill amongst the gathering storms the desert brings. Full of wonder and delight, any traveller would be lucky to call this their destination.

Within this book I will be pouring my dedication to the city, as I attempt to faithfully categorise and record our history, our culture, our faith, our governance, and most importantly the city itself. We are immensely proud of Ahnatep, and by the end of this book, you will be too.

From your storyteller

Welcome to Ahnatep, City of Old, where the buildings and society broken by the Valterrian are in the process of being restored. Welcome to the City of Balance on a Knife's Edge, where ancient relationships with the Dhani hang in the balance, and where those of new blood shout for revolution. Finally, welcome to the City of Beauty. Prepare yourself for overwhelming pride, excessive competitiveness, and an exhilarating dance with the cut-throat world of elegance and Eypharians. This is Ahnatep.

A Brief Overview

Although commonly called
"The Lesser Person's Historian",
Hasprita Kuni was the first to write
such a comprehensive guidebook, and
foreigners who arrive in Ahnatep
are recommended to find a copy.

Ahnatep is the physical representation of the desire to maintain the past and to preserve Eypharian power. A beautiful city surrounded firstly by ruins and then by the great desert of Eyktol, Ahnatep is a city that takes pride in its history. Situated along a grand river estuary that spills out into the shimmering Sebakem Ocean, the city is well-connected via water and hosts a large dock. Although the majority of people here are Eypharians, other species are welcomed so long as they follow the rules.

City Rules

  1. Murder is to be met with an equal and opposite reaction. Those that kill must not be allowed to live themselves.
  2. Theft is not to be tolerated.
  3. Destruction of public or private property, whether it be your own or not, is illegal.
  4. Freeing a slave without permission is a punishable offence.
  5. Marrying or producing children without first consulting the Zapatl is not tolerated.

Ahnatep: From Land or Sea, & Linkmap

Approaching Ahnatep

From Land

Image

Most respectable visitors approach from the sea, but for those that choose to traverse the dangerous, shifting sands, the first thing you might see are the ruins of our once mighty city. Surrounding Ahnatep lies a great area of broken stone and worn-away roads so eroded by constant sand blasting that they are barely visible. Yet these ruins are more dangerous than you might think. Sudden pitfalls can trap wary travellers for days, and hungry predators roam the ancient streets, hoping for a chance of a meal. The only safe route in to Ahnatep lies in the north, where the breadth of the ruins is narrowest. Here, an old road has been cleared, allowing swift transport into the outskirts of the city.

From Sea

In comparison, approaching Ahnatep from the sea gives the visitor a spectacular view of the coast and the city. TBD.
