Easing into Training
66th, Spring, 517av
Throughout her time spent in Endrykas, Ramona Silvertongue of Gamora and Akilly Silvertongue, had learned plenty. Although, she had developed concepts that of which she hadn't found it pleasing. She didn't enjoy bringing up her past, it was something that felt difficult... challenging even for her to do. It's been awhile since her parents had died by the hands of a couple nasty Ziths who had even dared setting their wings on their land. She remembered, those nightmares she still had after both of her parents had been killed. They were quite vivid, and very very real. Although, her nightmares don't occur as much as they did back then, she still has them occasionally, and she wanted to make them go away. Though, she knew quite well... her fears were a part of her self conscious, and there was nothing she could do about it.
For a few years, her father, Akilly had been teaching her how to do many things; how to fight, how to use a bow, webbing even, and of course, hunting. Just a few years before they died, her father had introduced her into using the short bow. Ramona was excited about it of course, and why wouldn't she? It was a thing of pride that she felt with her father teaching her how to do all of these things, but now... it's going to be challenging for her.
She still has her brother Bhug, who is only five years of age. He's barely learning how to understand the world around him, and he's understanding by learning how to fight. Almost like his sister, but his sister, Ramona, didn't want to understand the world through survival. Although... it was a thing that every Drykas has to go through, no doubt behind it. So of course, the one place where she would go, was the Warstorm Pavillion. She heard of some of the stories of the Champions that fought during the tournaments of battle. She wanted to be strong like them, and to do that... she of course needed to train. She brought what she needed; her short bow, her quiver of arrows, and her fists.
Ramona listened to the whispers of the winds, she could hear the Djed calling out to her. She needed to make sure that her tent was fine, and make sure that Bhug was alright. He usually hangs around with the other kids his age that are a part of the Diamond Clan, and would occasionally stay near his tent. She could sense that his link was still close to the tent.
Hopefully, he won't stray too far away. Ramona still has yet to see his responsibility.
Ramona was steadily riding on top of Anthem, her strider. To which, she is bonded to, her windmarks on her arms prove her bonds. Anthem had a dark coat of fur, like the color of a crows. White hooves, as white as snow itself.
"Anthem, thank you for the ride." Ramona said in a pleased tone, she swung one leg over while Anthem continued to trot, he trotted closer and closer towards the Warstorm Pavillion. Anthem nickered in response and shook his head. Ramona patted the strider, and quickly slid down the side of his body. She stumbled a bit, as she wasn't used to jumping off of the stallion. The strider slowed his pace, and Ramona went to recover her short bow. She struggled a bit to get the short bow out of the grasp when she tied it around the Yvas. She also went and fairly managed to gather her quiver. She took a deep breath, and patiently waited for the Djed to flow out of her system.
It took a few chimes, but Ramona had felt a slight wave of dizziness, no thanks to the effects of using Djed, and although she is just a novice, she was glad she hadn't passed out. If she was, she would think that she needed some more practice with it. Anthem trotted beside her, matching her slow pace when he can. She smiled over to him, and slung her short bow over her shoulder. She patted the strider with her left hand. She was glad to have him by her side, and she knew that he was glad to have her also.
Ramona was surprised, just by a bit, to see her fellow Drykas among the training fields of the Warstorm Pavillion. There was a couple of dummies set up for combat, one of them was unoccupied, and Ramona had decided that that one would be hers for training.
"How about, you go lie down Anthem. Yes?" She asked the strider sweetly and motioned him to lie over by a nice clean space beneath the tree. Anthem snorted, then nickered, and trotted over to the aloof tree. Ramona wasn't worried of Anthem running off, but if he did, he would usually stay as close as he can to her. The huntress then ambled over to the dummy, and stood at least 10-15ft away, she readied an arrow, as she pulled one out of the quiver, and carefully aimed towards the chest of the dummy.
She released the arrow. It flew the distance of where she stood. Though, unfortunately, it hit the ground, it had seemed that she hadn't used enough force when pulling the string, or it might have been the bend of where she was? She didn't understand... not entirely. Though, it didn't hurt for her to try again.
