The beautiful, grand structure that is the Bharani library has a notable reputation for being one of the only libraries to hold the vast majority of rare literature stored within it's walls. It is a testament to the sheer thinking power of the various beings of Mizahar. From the smallest, most trivial books to indexes, extensive history of long-forgotten language and culture, excerpts of fighting styles, magic and lost artifacts. For nearly 500 years, the Bharani library has grown from the modest structure it used to be to the grand glittering near-palace like edifice it is now. A specialized group of men and women called the Seekers, followers of Eyris in conjunction to the revered Lady Zintila, protect and search for lost information of the ages. They are dedicated wholly to the preservation of knowledge and all that it stands for, and are often the ones who go on expeditions across the world with the protection of the Shinya to seek out these obscured artifacts. A man well into his years named Sosho Tayin holds the title of Grand Seeker, and oversees the passage of information from the shelves of the library into the hands of individuals who seek it. "Checking out" a book in the library is simple, yet might be difficult for the average person to do so. The Bharani library requires a contribution in order to allow people to browse their halls and take a book home with them for a strict amount of time, and only those books who have copies made for the general public. Contribution to the library may come in a variety of ways. Be it scrolls on how to create a poultice, how to construct an instrument, or as magnificent as an extremely rare piece of literature or artifact from the ancient world. Once someone has contributed to the vast collection of the library, they are allowed access for an unlimited amount of time. The Bharani Library itself is located on the Tenten Peak, specifically on the third tier overlooking the vast majority of the misty peaks. Grand glittering steps lead to an equally grand and glimmering set of doors with Shinya guards stationed on either side. The architecture inside is framed with skyglass crystals, with shelves upon shelves stocked neatly with books, knickknacks, artifacts and maps. To the left down a short hallway is the office of Sosho Tayin, and various white-robed figures can be seen passing through the assortment of shelves to help any visitor who enters their sanctum. oocModeration is required for this area, inquire with the DS about certain books/information. |
