Laying on the ground in a heap, it sure didn't look like much to work with. Aladari had gathered together all of her things, including those she had purchased earlier that morning, and laid them outside in an attempt to make some sense of it all. She needed a disguise if she was to go into the city with any regularity, and a simple cloak would not do it.
She glanced at her reflection in the pond, watching her eyes shift colors with speed and grace, easily portraying her emotions, and more importantly, her race. It was normally a subtle detail- not one that she really thought about- but all of a sudden it was the biggest problem in her life.
Start small. Baby steps. She reminded herself. Her Gnosis would be easy to cover, so she would work on that first.
The first step was to open up her disguise kit. Though the man who had sold it to her was slightly suspicious, he had only charged her 50 GM for what seemed like a valuable purchase. The kit contained plenty of makeup, including some skin-colored powder (only slightly lighter than her own skin), kohl for eye-lining, lip pomades, and a simple scrub and dye for coloring her hair. It also included a few other things like a make-shift megaphone crafted from parchment, and the box folded into a platform on which to stand, but those things were not needed here.
Aladari selected the skin-powder cautiously, so as not to spill. Then she picked up the brush from the box and dipped it in. The powder was less firm than she had expected, and so her force was too much; she pushed the brush deep into the makeup, successfully coating it up to the handle. Aladari winced at the mistake. It was a waste of expensive product. Nonetheless, she carried on.
Aladari leaned away from her left shoulder so that she could see her Gnosis better. Then, she softly brushed the makeup onto her skin, woth mild success.
The makeup did cover her Gnosis for the most part, as it colored in the design. However, the outline was still clearly visible as a snowflake. Aladari frowned. She would have to cover it up with clothing anyway. Retrieving the scarf she had purchased, she threw it over her shoulder and wrapped it around. Although it was nearly uncomfortably warm in the weather, it would do the job.
