It was hot as usual, and Anibesa had risen from a few hours of sleep she'd managed to get after a restless night.
Being an Ethaefal of Leth, she preferred to spend the nights outside, but she still had to sleep, and so she did so. She'd slept for a few hours, in the entrance to her tent so she could refresh herself in the moonlight.
Unfortunately, sleeping in the open wasn't as easy, and she'd found herself being woken by a few wild animals that had attempted to sneak into her tent, and eventually she'd given up trying to sleep, and instead caught up on that sleep during the morning once the sun had rose.
Now she was somewhat refreshed and ready to get on with her day, and today she had planned to practice swimming, to maybe try and get a hang of how to swim when she actually wanted to swim, and not just manage to barely stay afloat when she was desperate.
It wasn't long before she was on her way, and the community pool ended up closer than she thought it was.
Grinning slightly, she glanced at the pools, seeing one smaller pool that seemed somewhat shallower, maybe designed for a more relaxing soak, and a much larger and deeper pool that seemed as though it was designed for swimming.
Sighing, she glanced around to see that nobody else was there, and feeling slightly nervous she removed her shirt and pants, so she was stood in her underwear, before she sat on the edge of the larger pool.
"You can do this Ani!" she encouraged herself, before sliding into the pool messily, a splash sounding as she slid under the water before finding herself and holding onto the side of the pool, using it to hold herself out of the water as she looked around again, making sure nobody else had arrived.
Then she stretched her legs out to find that if she stood on her tip toes, she could just touch the bottom of the pool, so she let go of the side of the pool and tentatively walked to the centre of the larger pool, her arms flailing as they attempted to propel herself through the water at a faster speed.
Eventually, her erratic arm movements caused the young woman to slip and for a few brief moments her head slipped under the water and she lost sense of which was up.
It took a few moments before she managed to find the bottom of the pool with her feet and she brought herself back up to standing, coughing and spluttering as she surfaced.
