While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Ruins of Nial
Late evening during a Waxing Gibbous (almost full moon)

She was naked, basking if you will under her lovers light. It was said long ago that the wolf was a man, a lover of the moon who shared the sky to lay with her. The sun grew angry with the moon's love and told the man to collect the moons favorite flowers from the land. So the man did. Unknown to him once his skin touched earth he would never return to his love but would instead be bound in a wolf's skin, alone to howl and call her name when she shines her brightest fro him. The flower to this day is wolf's bane.

She had been bathing in the moons light till she eventually fell asleep until now when she felt the ache in her legs and back. The ache and need to run. She stood and stretched tall. Her pale skin was glowing in the faint light of the moon and her dark red and black hair that was held in several braids waved around her pushed by the wind. She had a silver scar that ran across her left hip in the shape of a waning crescent. She opened her eyelids softly to show off dark orbs that scanned the forrest around her. She gathered her clothing from under a thorny rose and looked over at the ruins before her with a sigh before turning back to the almost full moon. The moon held no power over her or her change it just became a familiar and comforting sight. The protection of night. Every muscle and bone ached, she was more wolf than woman and she welcomed it.

She is a Kelvic able to take the form of an animal and a human, an old and dying race of shapeshifter that are left to wander the world without a true home, lost, and looking for companionship. All she had was stories, no past just heritage. No family just sketches of a life she once had. No home or possessions except a vile of Wolf's bane. She ran her hands over the vile with its chain latched around her slender neck. She could feel the warmth and weight of the vile as it sat against her. She collected her sketches also scatted under the rose and folded them into her right boot before dressing herself in breeches and a loose shirt.

Her hair was long and thick. She has several braids of several sizes, some held beads others held metals and all held her dark red and black hair. Few strands wisp across her face and brush her full heart shaped lips, she pulled two braids one from each side and tied the rest of her hair together with those two braids so her hair hung in a loose ponytail. A few strands hung across her face like a fringe to hid her dark eyes. Her leather bodice that she strapped on and soft cotton shirt all radiated the glow of the pale light upon her. Her dark breeches and boots blended her in with the bushes around her. She was one with the moon, a child of it, a creature of it.

She looked up at the moon and remembered the family she once had. They were up there as stars, that's where her mother told her they would go when they passed away, then they could look down and watch her grow. She wondered where she would wonder next and where she would be safe to turn back to her natural wolf state. She would have to hunt soon, it was moments like this she longed for a companion, someone to look after her and for her to look after. All these thoughts were soon interrupted by the smell of Wolf's bane and the snapping of twigs. She darted quietly and quickly behind the ruins with her dark orbs watching and searching for the interruption. It was a man, or at least appeared to be a man but had he seen her?

She had been hunting bandits and messing them around in payback for the crimes they had committed to her family, she knew they were after her now and they were getting smart. She looked to the moon then at the man "What do you want?" she whispered moving her position so they would not spot her. "Here to hunt the beast? The wolf? or here to take advantage of a lone female in the woods?" she asked as she circled the man from the tree line. "What do you want?" she growled.

Lycanthropy (open)

He had been on the run for days, but exhaustion soon caught up. He then collapsed off, and into the water in front of him, allowing it to drift him, take him away from memories which made him an abomination, free himself from the world which he was thrown in. He knew he did not belong, never to be a piece to any puzzle, never to be like any other. He would be nothing, and would stay nothing.

Minutes grew into hours, and soon enough he drifted to a river bank, placed in a forest of silence. He awoke to find himself in no place he has ever visited, someplace new. He was unsure if he was still near them, the one's who tried to kill him for what he was, a Kelvic. The moonlight shine upon his pale skin, his short black hair seeming to shine. He stood to inspect his damage.

The fall from the cliff, had barely hurt him, creating minor cuts, but most of the damage was to his clothing. He had nothing to his name, only the clothing he wore, or parts of clothing which he wore. He had only his pants, the shirt torn to shreds by his feet. He wanted to find shelter, he wanted to be hidden inside, but to where could he be hidden. He began walking towards the inner forest.

He was alone, and at the moment not wanting to be. Stepping over a bush or two, he slid down a hill. Quickly stopping himself, he continued forward. He was lost, and he knew it, but oddly he sensed another nearby, but could not see anything. He stepped through a patch of Wolf's Bane, trying to keep silent, but the forest would not aid him, thus him stepping on twigs.

He could here movement, even if it was kept low. He stood in the middle of what he knew was now a hunting ground. He could hear the person, which had been circling him. "What do you want?" came a growl from his side, and He turned swiftly to see a dark figure move behind the tree near him.

"A bit jumpy, aren't you, for being a..." He paused and smelt the air. "Wolf." He said, standing straight, crossing his arms.

Ra' was watching his every move from her delicate hiding spot amongst the trees and leaves that twisted and turned around her and clung onto her hair. Her dark orbs moved from side to side in quick motions as she took in the detail before her. He had pale skin in the moon light like her own giving off a porcelain feel but she knew as well as herself that this man would be nothing like porcelain. She could tell there was muscle under the fragile flesh. His black hair reflected the moons light as he stood exposed to the rays of faint light. His clothing was damaged she observed, his shirt was torn and hanging loosely over his torso, pale skin was illuminated through the gaps where the fabric had broken away.

She looked to his feel and saw the remnants of the Wolf's bane that he had stepped though, Ra' softly moved her hand to the vile of it around her neck. He was standing still, she knew he knew she was there. He was growling at her "I asked you first" she growled back as she moved between the trees. She stopped again and took a deep breath. He knew what she was, she watched him smell the air for her and for a moment she felt panic. "What do you want? Your not a bandit are you?" she said in a softer tone as she paused. "If you are here for me I will kill you before you can say your own name" she growled again feeling slightly threatened by this male figure standing in the moon's light with his arms crossed.

Ra' knew the bandits had been getting smarter with their hunting tactics. They now used dogs to sniff her out, they set traps to hold her till they could catch up to her, they covered fresh meat in Wolf's bane knowing at some point she would get hungry and an easy meal was right there. She growled slightly, Ra' knew if she was to attack she would have to as a wolf for it was her stronger form. However if he knew she was wolf maybe he had planned an attack for the wolf. "Have you any weapons?" she asked planning a move "if you are a decent man you will drop them to the ground and step back from them, if not then I may attack and I can not promise I will let you live" She had made an offer and now she carefully and quietly watched him to see what path he would follow.

He could sense the person around him, asking what he wanted, if he was a bandit. "Me a bandit, I sure do look the type, don't I." He said humorously, looking at his clothing which hung loosely. He could sense panic, and decided to sit where he stood. He didn't feel threatened, or scared. The person in hiding growled again, and he then knew she was female. "So your a female." He said, ripping off the remnants of his shirt, and inspecting it.

Then she asked if he had weapons, and to throw them away from him. "Right now, a weapon would do, in a forest like this, but other then that, I can't throw you my hand's and teeth, need them more then anything." He said, picking up vines from in front of where he was sitting. "You must run into bandits alot, since you are what you are." He said trying to tie his shirt together.

Ra' felt herself smirk at his statement, indeed he didn't look the type and he didn't give off that vibe but she felt it only natural to ask. Ra' felt her orbs staring at the man before her as he sat, he was clearly not scared or alarmed by the fact he could not see her. She smiled again watching him rip off his shirt to inspect the damage. "What makes you think I'm female" she said in her most girly mocking tone. "Indeed I am" she said again in her normal tone.

She lifted her chin slightly as her eyes narrowed to see if he had infact hidden any weapons and when her eyes told her mind there was none, she watched him pick up vines as he started to tie his shirt together. Ra' let her guard down but before stepping out before him she took off her blouse under her corset leathers and then moved her leathers to cover her breasts. The corset alone was a good top, she just chose to wear a blouse for comfort. Ra' moved forth to stand before him and tossed the blouse at him. "It's big on me so it should fit you" she said looking down at him.

She stood 5'5" tall with pale skin and long and thick red and black hair. She has several braids of several sizes, some held beads others held metals and all held her dark red and black hair. Few strands wisp across her face and brush her full heart shaped lips, she pulled two braids one from each side and tied the rest of her hair together with those two braids so her hair hung in a loose ponytail that hung to one side. A few strands hung across her face like a fringe to hid her dark eyes. She wore dark breeches, dark brown boots that came up to mid calf and her leathers across her torso. She rested one hand on her hip as she looked down upon the man before her. "I guess you could say I run into bandits a lot yes" she said laughing slightly. "they come looking for me" she said.

"Where are you from?" she said lifting her chin a little "Your not fully human are you?" she asked feeling something different about his presence.

She stepped out from hiding, and thrown a blouse in his direction. "Thanks, I didn't think the vines would suffice." He said, putting it on. He unbuckled his belt, he had no real need for it to be used with pants, and wrapped it around his waist over the shirt. He wanted the shirt to be a tighter fit.

She spoke about bandits chasing her down. "I am being chased down too, but not from bandits, I don't really know who they were." He said unwrapping some vines from his pants legs. She asked where he was from. "Well that's a funny question, because I don't know, I was never allowed outside of the building I was kept in." He said looking up at the woman.

She knew he was different, and he could see it in her eyes. "I thought you would recognize one of your own kind, but maybe it is just me who can differentiate people." He said smiling, and returning to his pants legs.

She laughed "I know for a fact they wont" she said watching him put her blouse on. Indeed it was a bit big but once he used his belt it became more fitted to his body shape. "If your being chased... are they near?" she asked listening to the sounds around her, only birds and crickets let their song ring throughout the air. She then lifted her nose and opened her smell to everything, the smell of soil and rotting leaves, the odd smell of the man before her and Wolf's bane.

"You are a slave?" she asked tilting her head a little. She thought back to a man she had met but a few moons ago called Cathan, he was a Kelvic like herself and he had taught her much about living with humans as a dog-fighter and hunter. She smiled remembering having the companionship that she now longed for. "Ahh I see you're a Kelvic also" she said with a smile "I'm used to being on my own so I wasn't too sure, but I knew something was different about you" she said. She watched him as he tried to repair his pants. "I don't have spare breeches but I do have a cloak you can wear for now if you want?" she asked watching him with amusement.

"Sorry I was rude and questioned you" she said changing the mood completely feeling a warmer tone to her voice. "I just had to make sure that I wasn't falling into a trap or something" she said. "not used to people or Kelvics for that matter. Names Tierranalin" she said stretching her hand out towards the man before her in a friendly gesture. "Have you a name?" she asked with a laugh.

Giving up on his pants, he stood up to face the person. She was curious if he was still being followed. "No, they can't trace me, well especially since I dove off a cliff into some lake." He said whipping the soil off his pants. She had asked if he was a slave, it made him smile. "Not precisely a slave, close, but more of a guinea pig, I was used for experimentation reasons. That's why I was created in the first place." He said looking up at the moonlight.

It made him think of how subtle his life could of been, to just howl at the moon, and be an animal, but being a human didn't bother him either. She said she had no extra breeches. "No matter, I can make it with these on, and no thanks about the cloak." He said rushing his hands through his hair to fix it.

She began apologizing, "No need to apologize, I would of done the same, it's just a defense reflex, I understand." He said waving his hand, as a gesture to the past being gone. Her name was Tierranalin. "My name is Tristian, pleasure to meet you." Tristian said meeting his hand with her's in a formal shaking.

She nodded "Good move" she said thinking about what she would do in that situation, most likely the same. She shivered "Experimentation?" She shivered again "What? Could you explain?" she asked a little unsure of what he was saying. "I've only herd stories of experiments" she said. She thought about the old man who used to live down from her family farm, he only had one leg and most of his skin was burnt but no one knew why all he said was 'experimentation'.

Ra' nodded at him before putting her cloak around herself. "Well Tristian pleasure's all mine" she said feeling and watching him take her hand in his. It made her smile, the warmth of it and the feeling of human flesh on flesh. "Guess you need a place to camp?" she asked as she readjusted her pack on her back. "You fed?" she asked looking at his belly. "I've got meat in my bag if you want it" she said thinking about the hunt she had a few moons ago with Cathan. The two of them had managed to take down a large stag and she had collected the meat to last her a week or so.

She shivered at his words on experimentation. "Indeed, look here." Tristian said, seperating his hair on his head, revealing a long scar which spanned from the middle to the back of his head. "Something about our blood being reigned by magic, since we are created by it, so we have the ability to be enhanced. They messed with my brain, so that it is more receptive in other brain frequency's." Tristian said, swiping his hair back to normal.

"Telepathy, if you ever heard of it, the transfer of thoughts between two. Well I have a grasp on it, they were trying to get Kelvic controllers for the army, I even got scars on my back, from where they were implanting things to make me live longer then normal Kelvic. I was a ragdoll." Tristian said looking down at the ground.

She said something about camping, and Tristian sat back on the ground. "I would love to rest, haven't done it in two days." He said sighing in relief. She offered food, but he denyed, he wasn't hungry.
