A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

Character Name: Maya Lark
Type of Residence: Citizen
Profession: Slaver
Briefly Describe Your Character: Give us a line or two about you.
Need Moderator’s Assistance: not at the moment
Preferred Thread Type: I like all kinds action and intrigue are two of my favorites

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least? I enjoy the difference between it and every other city. Sunberth has some of the same features as Ravok, there is a different air between them.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Maya enjoys the city as a whole. Being raised in one of the main families has helped her learn more than the normal citizen or visitor could learn

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden? Maya as a Lark in general has many secrets. She sees it as every family and person has a secret they try to hide.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok? The amazing friends I have made is what has kept me writing on Miz.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything? I know you are working on this prophet, but more in depth information on the families and their estates would be great

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong? N/A it all looks good to me

You may ask one question of your ST. is there a dance school in the city or do the families hire private tutors to teach the kids formal dancing?

.
Character Name: Baran
Type of Residence: Ex-visitor, now slave
Profession: Previously a musician, now a slave... you get the picture
Briefly Describe Your Character: This season, Baran is at his lowest yet. He could potentially be driven to anything.
Need Moderator’s Assistance: Yes, I'll PM but it's about his new slavedom.
Preferred Thread Type: I'll pick Intrigue, although I am a fan of many styles.

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least? As a writer, I enjoy the rich setting. It means you can write about each part of the city and not be in the dark. I can't really think of a least enjoyable thing right now.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Baran enjoys very little of this city, but prior to this season he enjoyed the elegance of it. Now, he hates what he considers the restrictions to his freedom.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden? Baran's only secret are his dreams... OOCly, that could be interesting this season.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok? The only reason I write now is to write with other people. I don't particularly care too much about my own character's goals or ambitions or achievements- all I want out of writing and Ravok is collaborative, fun storytelling.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything? More PC Ebonstryfe!

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong? I don't think so. The only thing I could think of was that there are a couple of locations that exist which are relatively similar... the two music shops for instance, and the two carving-esque shops.

You may ask one question of your ST. What annoys a noisy oyster most? :P

Character Name: Solomon Black
Type of Residence: Citizen
Profession: Muscle for the Sliver Sliver
Briefly Describe Your Character: An old lonely warrior trying to get by and also struggling with demons of his past.
Need Moderator’s Assistance: No.
Preferred Thread Type: Action/Social but I can do 'em all

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least?
So far, just enjoying the nuances of being evil but relatively normal.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least?
"It's not that I want to leave, It's that there is no longer anything here for me. Everything that matters is outside this city... This place also breeds bad decisions for me."

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden?
"That I am apathetic at best towards Rhysol and their followers, a secret I guard well."

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok?
Potentially interesting stories keep me in Miz, the potential for personal growth for Solomon in Ravok.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything?
No, but as I have been doing a decent amount of flashback from 20+ years ago a more defined view of the city back then would nice. Not needed, but nice.

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong?
Not really.

You may ask one question of your ST.

Character Name: Alija
Type of Residence: Visitor
Profession: Blacksmith
Briefly Describe Your Character: Lost with her love for blacksmithing, Alija is fascinated by all things metal and wants to learn anything that helps her with it, including the magics alchemy and auristics. At the same time, she wants her life to be normal, but why won't strange things stop happening?
Need Moderator’s Assistance: Yes - interested in joining the Lark family as personal blacksmith
Preferred Thread Type: Intrigue

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least? The evil sinister vibe. That's for most and least.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least? It's not covered in dead people (well, not on the surface, anyway). But she doesn't want to be here anyway.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden?
Haha, where does she start? She wants to keep everything hidden - like her aunt going mad and selling her mother to slavery. That she spent several seasons studying in Sahova. The way she left Nyka. They're not going to stay hidden, though.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok?
Absolutely everything. The plots and the characters here. The amazing people to write with. The rich and never-ending lore that ties everything together.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything?
Me! But on a more serious note, family estates for people other than the Nitrozians. There's barely anything about them!

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong?
Not sure about this one...

You may ask one question of your ST. Where can I practice Alchemy as secretly as possible?

Character Name: Shiress
Type of Residence: Slave
Profession: What does your PC do for money? I'll never tell |:)
Need Moderator’s Assistance: Maybe
Preferred Thread Type: Action and Intrigue

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least? There's such a vast variety of PC's. You never know what you'll get when you write with someone for the first time.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Born and raised in Zeltiva, Shiress loves being surrounded by water again. She thinks Ravok is a gorgeous city, she just wishes she could be free within it.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden? Shiress wishes to keep her enslavement a secret from anyone she meets, but of late, that's proven a little harder to accomplish.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok? The writers, most definitely! I'm an odd ball, instead of being motivated by IC plot, it's the writers that keep me coming back.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything? Maybe a secret, slave ran organization that's planning a major revolt and escape

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong? Nah

You may ask one question of your ST. If you had to pick one thread that you think everyone should read, which would it be?

Postby Clyde Sullins on December 3rd, 2017, 3:16 pm

Character Name: Clyde Sullins
Type of Residence: Citizen
Profession: Ebonstryfe Commander- Mage
Briefly Describe Your Character: Self interested mage, always looking for more- knowledge, money, power, henchmen, etc.
Need Moderator’s Assistance: Yes, on existing Magic Staff secret plot for Cha.
Preferred Thread Type: Action sequences are fun, though I've rather gotten away from it of late. I try to focus on skills I'm still working on increasing. Intrigue, IC less so but OOC I often find them interesting. Relationships, IC only in so much as they are good for Clyde/lead to further uses and advantages for Clyde, OOC often the first step to further plots.

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Enjoy the setting, and the honesty most people approach the city with. People don't usually hide their self serving nature IC.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Most, access to resources and power as a member of the Ebonstryfe and as a powerful mage. Least, the racism and turning upon each other so commonly seen. Not because I inherently wants to defend those people or out of some humanitarian desire, I find most everyone equally inferior to myself, but because I feels it is wasteful in terms of effort and resources to turn upon those also serving Ravok and Rhysol. Much better to turn on those opposing Rhysol and the city, outwards. When a snake bites its own tail, it only ends up with a bloody tail.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden? Nope, I'm always truthful about the stuff I say. And the stuff I don't say, well I don't say it for a reason.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok? The sense of accomplishment, growing as a writer and a character, along with the stories and people I meet and make over time. He's moved about a lot, and is in Ravok for the moment, perhaps not forever, but while he's here he'll enjoy it and do what he can.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything? IC wise, I think it needs a good group to focus upon hating, rather than turning inwardly upon itself destructively. Rather like the Rising Dawn that got taken out a few years ago... Snake and its tail thing.

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong? Not in particular.

You may ask one question of your ST. What group that exists in another city do you think would work well in Ravok (from an OOC perspective, not necessarily an IC getting along with other factions way, not that in Ravok many factions really get along IC)
Clydes Stuff

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

Character Name: Rhyson Halfhame
Type of Residence: Citizen
Profession: Unemployed (Pending Job Application)
Briefly Describe Your Character: An armless Isurian who likes to dissect people, mostly in the metaphorical sense. Rhyson also has a fascination with Rhysol, and intends to become, in the distant future, a symbol of what he believes Rhysol to represent; Selfish independence and disregard for others as a means to advance one's own position.
Need Moderator’s Assistance: No.
Preferred Thread Type: Intrigue/Relationships

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Not sure as of yet, but what intrigues me is the cadence of the environment, if that makes sense. Of all the cities in Mizahar, I think Ravok is the best for my inquisitorial vengeful character, especially if the dark things I have planned for Rhyson come to fruition. I have no idea what I might enjoy least.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least? Rhyson is drawn to Ravok's age, its majesty, and its gravitas. He appreciates the grandfatherly nature of Ravok's patron god, and he thinks there's plenty for him to sink his teeth into in the city. Whether Rhyson is absorbed in a sermon delivered by a member of the Black Sun, or is eavesdropping on conversations being held in the seedier areas of the city, his newfound attachment to the city is borne from an abiding desire to break down the complexities and reveal the simple truths of the City on the Lake.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden? Rhyson's real name, is Idurno Forgefaith Vizerian.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok? Most of my drive to write on Miz comes from a need to practice writing, and to do so in a community of peers who can comment on and provide feedback at a moment's notice. Ravok is one of the city's in Mizahar I'd deem to be seedy, suspect, and full to the brim with criminality, both overt and covert. Like Sunberth, Alvadas, and Lhavit, there's a duality to Ravok that I appreciate greatly. It makes RPing there enticing.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything? No.

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong? No.

You may ask one question of your ST. Prophet, how am I doing?

Postby Baelin Holt on December 4th, 2017, 12:26 am

Character Name: Baelin Holt
Type of Residence: Non-citizen Resident
Profession: Armorer at The Defiled Blade
Briefly Describe Your Character: Baelin likes to keep his head down and continue with his isolated routine. Needless to say, wreaking havoc on that routine is almost always my aim.
Need Moderator’s Assistance: I don’t think so
Preferred Thread Type: I suppose if I had to put one at the top, that’d be Relationships. I really enjoy Action too. Intrigue’s a bit hard with Baelin.

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least?
I haven’t really explored the city (my own fault), but it seems like Ravok provides an excellent environment for really exploring your character’s darker depths. The racism (elitism?) seems a bit tricky to work with though.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least?
IC: No matter how many times he wondered it, Baelin couldn’t decide which he preferred: Ravok or Syliras. On one hand, Sylirans at least would pretend to embrace diversity. Baelin hadn’t realized how easy he’d had it until he left the protective shell. But, on the other hand, Ravokians raw acceptance of humanity’s nature was like a breath of fresh air. Syliras, with its blind trust it its supposedly incorrigible knighthood, could never even come close.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden?
IC: As far as Baelin’s concerned, he’s bona fide human. Anyone who says different can go petch themselves.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok?
I absolutely love Mizahar, there’s nothing else like it. The community, the IC world and its lore, the diversity and range of PCs, the way that every thread matters – all of it. You’re never getting rid of me. As for Ravok? I still have a lot to learn about the city. Definitely looking forward to getting to know it better.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything?
Not that I can think of.

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong?
All seems to fit to me. How a large smithy can exist on a dock sometimes stumps me, but then I remember magic.

You may ask one question of your ST.
Is there a standard sort of armor that would get requested in Ravok?

Profession: Stryfe

Secret :
Briefly Describe Your Character:
A twisted concoction of ambition and zealotry fueled by magic and madness.

Need Moderator’s Assistance: -

Preferred Thread Type:
Action and intrigue

What do you, as a writer, enjoy most about Ravok? Least?
The potential. To me, the antagonist of any story has to be a strong and compelling one for the tale to feel like it has any real stakes. More so than any random bandit attack or fanged monster hiding in the bushes, its the dark city of Ravok and its ominous promise of doom looming in the north that has the most potential to be Mizahar's greatest villain. What I enjoy the least is when I see the opportunity to do things towards that end squandered or simply overlooked.

What does your character enjoy most about Ravok? Least?
Its my home. Its what defines me. I can't escape its hold even if I wanted to.

Does your character have a secret he or she wishes to keep hidden?
I failed my first crucible, if it could even be called that. That failure has haunted my every waking moment since.

As a player, what drives you to keep writing on Miz? In Ravok?
Personal achievement and interesting stories. I enjoy watching my skill points go up almost as much as I love watching amazing plots come to fruition.

Do you feel that Ravok is in desperate need of anything?
Nothing comes to mind. I think that's because that fancy Proofet fella is doing a bang up job on taking care of things, whoever he is.

Is there anything in Ravok that you feel does not belong?
That feeling you get when you're about to sneeze, but then it passes... That's really gotta go.

You may ask one question of your ST.
Gun to your head; if you had to think of some new names for Ravok's outposts other than 'northern' and 'southern' what would they be?
