Appearance

Deep chocolate eyes are set within high cheekbones, defined by an intense smattering of freckles. Her milky complexion is framed by long, flowing, fiery locks often salt caked and tangled. A life at sea has born a muscular, lusty frame; elegance is not within her nature. Her skin is sea-coarse and Syna-touched; her fingers calloused and tough from years of sailing.

Z'ily's sense of style is mimicked from her Svefra kin, mashing different colours and cultures together to form her own individual fashion. Favouring bare feet, Z'ily's toes are often sand or dirt crusted. Her ginger mane is often intertwined with shells or beads that she discovers on the beaches or "picks up" along her travels.

Whimsy. Intuitive. A Dreamer. An enthusiastic, free spirit fluttering from whichever notion strikes her in the moment. She is shifty and sometimes perceived as odd, bouncing from pillar to post and often without warning. She wears her heart on her sleeve; her emotions as turbulent as Laviku's oceans.

While strongly independent, she craves acceptance and family connection.

Z'ily desires nothing more than to elevate into Laviku's grace. Unmarked at birth, she feels rejected by her father. She strives to make him proud and do his will in the hopes that he will some day welcome her into his family with open arms. Despite this distance, she clings to his guidance and prays to him daily. Although he remains silent and distant from her, she does not let this taint her feelings towards him.

Z'ily admires and respects Zulrav's power and influence in a fearful reverence. She knows his influence can result in either life or death. When at sea especially she prays to the God for favourable winds and safe passage.

History

　

A child born without Laviku's gift! The coupling of two Svefra has resulted in the birth of a child holding the gaze of the Earth - not the ocean from whence their kin came. As per their culture she was surely destined to be cast into the oceans - a gift returned to their father, Laviku. Despite missing Laviku's official Oceanus Mark upon birth; she did however bear a strange birthmark upon her shoulder that mysteriously resembled a splash of water. Was this a sign that she was indeed Svefra? But surely the lack of the ocean in her eyes spoke otherwise?

Debates of distaste were argued. It was finally settled by the Lia, that the child lacked Laviku's gift and should be returned to the ocean's grace.

However, a merchant ship had been travelling alongside the Pod awhile. The Captain, half-Svefra himself, couldn't bear the thought of the loss of life of an infant.He rushed to steal the baby into his arms and declared his protection of her.He would raise her as his own, what would it matter to the Pod if he took her away? It took fierce arguing, but he convinced them to allow his adoption of Z'ily, whom he named that day.

Although her life had been saved, the Lia proclaimed that despite the blood of the Svefra running through her viens, she still lacked the ocean's grace and therefore could never be truly Svefra. She was to be disowned from her kin;
an outcast of society.

So, Z'ily was co-raised by the half-Svefra and his tightly knit crew upon his merchant ship. She lived a life of relative normality. She lived a life at sea; where her heart belongs. He taught her the ways of the Svefra, their culture; yet however close she felt to the Svefra, she was doomed to never truly be apart of their kin. At every interaction, they jeered that she did not belong on the oceans, that she belonged with the landlubbers. Self-doubt tugs at her;
are they right? Or is she willing to fight to prove she is Svefra?

Heirloom

This bundle of multicoloured, tattered cloth swaddled Z'ily as an infant. It was the cloth she was nearly cast into the ocean with and is the only connection she has to her family and Svefran kin. She is rarely seen without it, often adorning it as a scarf in some fashion.
