Ruvya is not an extraordinary looking woman among her own people; it is outside of her grassland home that this drykas poses a striking semblance. Tall and wiry, standing at 5'11" & weighing 148lbs, Ruvya unconsciously emanates a bold, imposing vibe in the way she stands and walks. She possesses long, thick black hair, which reaches her buttocks & is often plaited intricately in drykas fashion. Her face is heart-shaped with a flat nose, small jaw, wide forehead, prominent cheekbones and nude rosebud-shaped lips. Set against her copper skin, her eyes are narrow, dark-brown, and full of life. Ruvya tends to don clothing that is form-fitting enough to stay out of her way but loose enough to let her move, preferring blouses in woven fabrics and pants in wool. The drykas is agile and tends to move quietly. Her ears are pierced, as is her nose, and she wears her windmarks with pride amid a myriad of black-work tattoos.

Beneath her imposing exterior, Ruvya is an intuitive, emotional woman, who feels deeply, which makes her prone to wearing her heart on her sleeve, and being sensitive.

Ruvya has lived through the loss of a strider young in her life and this loss has inextricably shaped her. Her spirit is splintered, the drykas can no longer find a place that feels like 'home' and feels slightly out of place, wherever she is, no matter who she is with. It is her superstition and spirituality that forges her resilience and the drykas meditates to seek the gods' favor, and for the strength to live her life well. Despite her troubled heart Ruvya, like her people, possesses a deep passion for living. The drykas can catch even those that know her well by surprise with her bursts of wild and her sense of adventure.

After her strider's death, Ruvya discarded her birth-name for 'Nomad', feeling that it reflects who she truly is. Recently the drykas has begun to reclaim her birth-name, as she now reclaims herself.

BORN 73 FALL 500
As Ruvya, youngest daughter of the Nighthoof pavilion in the Ruby Clan, renowned for their craftsmanship in basket weaving & the midnight black striders they breed.

SUMMER 500 to WINTER 510
Ruvya grows into the drykas life with passion. In the Winter snows she bonds with a black strider foal with a gentle heart & a distinct white sock on his front right hoof. Ryvva's life is full of joy as she earns her windmarks & joins her twelve elder siblings as fully fledged drykas.

WINTER 513
Ruvya's strider dies during a storm when a pride of nightlions venture too close to the city & attack pavilion herds. Ruvya spends half a night by the side of her maimed foal, pleading the gods to let him live, before letting the Nighthoof ankal perform a mercy killing. After a ritual to mark the death, Ruvya does not speak for three winters—the length of time she had with her strider—using only grass-sign to communicate. Her pavilion pray to the gods to bless their youngest daughter with another strider, meanwhile Ruvya endures her pain as is the drykas way.

SPRING 514
After a walk by the river at dusk Ruvya has a strange dream in which she sees herself on trails far beyond Cyphrus following a nightlion. Unable to shake the feelings invoked by the dream, the drykas seeks out drykas fortune-teller Ferem. Two nights and a day later, Ruvya changes her name to 'Kuhama', which means 'nomad', & begins to speak again.

SPRING 516 to 518
Ruvya leaves her family, her heart can no longer stay in the grasslands as Summer after Summer passes by without a bonding. After a somber ritual with her family—in which her ankal gifts her heirloom—Ruvya leaves the grasslands. She journeys with merchants & caravans, for as far north as the land will take her, through a myriad of wilderness to cities filled with exotic cultures & peoples. It revives the drykas a little, beginning the slow mending of her spirit.
