20th day of Fall, 518

The Institute’s labs were ever the bustle of activity, with apprentices and wizards alike moving to and fro to examine this project or that. One such sorcerer was bent over his workplace, parchment scattered about his stained hands with ink and rejected runic layouts. Each one possessed this flaw or that and were thus utterly worthless in his perfectionist eyes, little better than kindling for the flames.

To an on looker Elias would have appeared rather tired and worn out, his eyes possessing dark circles around them and were near bloodshot. Sweat beaded on his forehead and stained his pits. His beard too had grown far more disheveled than it ever should have been allowed, and yet he could find not the time to deal with it. Heavy casting had taken its toll upon his form, were it not fore his clear the gentle rise and fall of his chest, he might have been mistaken for a nuit. Ever since his promotion to the rank of commander, Elias had felt and known a powerful urge to grow stronger, smarter and all around better prepared. He would be responsible for the lives of the men and women of the Ebonstryfe under his command, and to go into such a momentous task as if this were just another regular assignment would have been beyond foolhardy. It would have been treacherous. Service to the black order was all important, and it was his duty that fueled him, guided him, and as of today, it was what had brought him back here.

Elias hissed in frustration as he looked back over his work, tossing it aside dramatically and snatching up a clean parchment. The Path had been overly complex, its functionality ruined by and overlap with one of the barriers. He needed perfection here. Once he refined this construct he'd possess a much more powerful scroll, indeed one better suited to combat situations.

He closed his eyes and took a few deep and calming breaths, trying to block out the myriad distractions of the surrounding labs. The design came to the forefront of his mind, three focus glyphs connected by Paths with the magic within contain inside of barriers. Switch glyphs would break up the casting into phases and they would all be bound by a single trigger located in the center. It was a much more refined version of what he'd attempted the last time he’d taken to glyphing with such enthusiasm, but he felt confident it would work. It symbolized a shift in his scroll making techniques, a weapon that if further refined could potentially be made into an intricate glyphed array that could unleash a salvo of death.

First things first, he needed to actually make the damned thing. The problem here was the Paths themselves, along with the switch glyphs. The trigger itself was a simple thing, it would send a signal along the paths to the switches with in turn would deactivate the barriers to release the magic. The problem here was trying to arrange the paths so the function could actually work, without compromising the structural integrity of the whole scroll.

He fiddled with his brush for a moment, thinking on the dilemma long and hard. The Paths were connected to two points, connecting them to more than that compromised their ability to function as desired. So then perhaps he was over thinking the problem and using too many paths. Maybe he could simplify it by instead only have a trio of paths connecting to the focus, with a switch around each barrier to release it so that the magic could be unleashed. Indeed, perhaps it was better to start more basic and then to worry about possibly evolving it to release the magic in a sequence. Simultaneous release would work just as fine, and it would save his the headache of yet another failure. From the base design he could build more.

The stryfer took another deep breath before looking down at the large sheet of parchment, his brush already dipped and setting to work on the first focus near the top of the page. The whole design would be in the shape of a right side up triangle, a geometric shape to further compliment the overall structure. As he set through the broad and confident strokes of his brush he was feeling more and more confident.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes! This is the one, it will be perfect. It must be perfect. He thought eagerly, his brushwork alive once more as seemingly a font of newfound energy found his.

The focus came to life in his work with each streak of black ink, the outline of his stylized inverted triangle already shaping up. His glyphs always too the shape of geometric designs, they made sense and were the most structurally sound designs in his opinion. This particular project would take a good deal of time, no doubt about it. One mistake and he would need to start from scratch, again.

The first focus was drawn so Elias started on the barrier that surrounded it, the tiny runes encircling the focus neatly and carefully. The barrier was always something to approach with care, unlike the focus there was always potential for a grievous mistake here. A mistake that could cost the entire integrity of the scroll. The barrier possessed a single that stood apart from the others, one that he teased lightly with his brush and handled with especial care. It was what he called a connector rune, it would eventually connect the barrier to the switch which in turn would be connected to the path.

Elias was nearly oblivious to the world around his, if Rhysol himself walked up to his he likely wouldn't have noticed as he was far to focused on his work.

Elias's Barrier Glyphs followed a pattern of stylized geometric shapes, a right side up triangle came first, which was followed by a rectangle, finally followed by a diamond. This pattern repeated itself over and over until the ring was complete. The only difference or deviation was the Connector Glyph, which simply changed the rectangle into a 'T' like shape. Once he finished up the Barrier he started upon the Switch.

The Switch took the form of a stylized square with a tiny triangle pointing to each side. The importance of this Glyph was to separate functions for the overall sigil, namely deactivating the Barrier when it received a signal from the Trigger. Normally he didn't need to utilize Paths with a Scroll sigil, but since there were two other Focus' they were needed to activate all of them.

Elias finished up the Switch, dipping his brush in ink as he started on another stylized inverted triangle on the top most corner of the parchment. It was best to get the basics out of the way before attempting to connect everything together. His brush moved easily along the parchment, the second Focus coming to life easily enough. Its creation was then followed by another series of Barrier Glyphs ringing it, with a Switch Glyph and Connector Rune bleeding onto the parchment as well.

The Sorcerer looked over his work again for flaws, finding none he simply started on the last series of Glyphs needed before the actual act of connecting everything together was needed. As before it was relatively simple, a Focus, followed by the Barrier, which was followed by the Switch. By this point these patterns had been engraved into his skull, their meanings cemented within his. Scrolls were rather easy to create, though his triggers had yet to gain the sophistication that defined higher tier Glyphers. He had no doubt it would come in time.

Once the third set of Glyphs was complete Elias stood back to admire his handiwork, deciding that it was time to start on the Trigger. No time to rest on laurels, he needed to get this little experiment out of the way so he could move on to other matters. With more scrolls his casting potential became that much more great. His goal for today was at least six. Lofty, but possible.

The Trigger was actually going to be non-verbal this time. A risk but it was best to branch outside of the comfort zone every now and then. It was simple, 'when blood touches this Glyph'. This particular trigger received no instructions in common because he was actually going to use it once it was completed, to test its functionality. Naturally this meant he was going to utilize air to fill the Glyphs, not really even that much. The real reimancy was going to come after he had his six scrolls made.

This task accomplished the mage started on connecting the Trigger to the three Barriers via Paths. His Paths had the opposite pattern that his Barriers possessed, going diamond first, the rectangle, and the triangle followed soon after. He took care in ensuring the pattern was correct and that it flowed as desired, a mess up might very well confuse the overall sigil. He repeated the process three times, connecting everything nicely.

The mage set down his brush and focused on his center, calling the Djed within himself to gather under his tongue. From here he willed it to rise up, taking the form a small and steady stream of blue, effervescent gas. The res was drawn outwards from his body and split into three small clouds, which hovered above the Focus Glyphs. He willed the gas downwards, willing a transmutation to occur as he did. A gentle breeze was absorbed into each Focus, the Glyphs rippling slightly as the magic was absorbed.

The mage waited for a chime, then another just to make certain that it wouldn't fall apart. Despite his apprehension, nothing of the sort occurred and the overall sigil looked very stable. Nodding to himself the mage promptly leaned over the scroll, withdrew his dagger, and allowed a droplet of his own blood to fall from a slice on his finger onto the awaiting Trigger.

The effect was instant, the Trigger activated the Switches which in turn lowered the Barrier Glyphs to cause the Focus' to release the magic contained within them. A gentle breeze flowed upwards, ruffling his shirt and little more. So the scroll design actually would work, that only raised further experiments. The most prominent one being how much he could actually force into the Sigil? How much magic could he funnel onto one scroll? Enough to create an explosive weapon perhaps?

It was something to pursue then, especially considering how problematic his enemy’s tactics were growing with each attempt on his life. He would need any and every edge he could get.

Elias brushed the crumpled remains of the parchment from the table and produced six new sheets of parchment. It was time for more practical creations, he needed scrolls for his future dealings. That would increase his casting potential greatly.

Elias produced another few pieces of parchment, it was highly unlikely he'd mess up here as scroll creation was rather simple all things considered. The necessary Glyphs were common to him at this point and the Sigil itself was not exactly complicated, proof of how far he had come along. Once creating six scrolls would have looked to be quite a daunting task, both as a Glypher and a Reimancer. However things changed, his abilities had matured with time which resulted in his potential growing exponentially.

His brush moved with confidence and surety as he drew his first Focus, the inverted triangle hardly taking that long to create. Once upon a time, in a classroom in Zeltiva he had possessed difficulty just making this one Glyph. Separating the style of his instructor from his own had been rather difficult, however in the end he had done it. Now what he forged was his and his alone, and none could claim comparison. It was as much a point of pride as it was a testament to his progress.

With the Focus done he followed up with his Barrier, a bit more care shown in its creation as messing up on the pattern would confuse the rest of the Sigil. Glyphing was all about balance and consistency, without either Glyphs were rather unreliable. The form the Glyphs took was unimportant, however that form needed to be consistent. It was one of many observations he'd made regarding the World Magic.

Idly he inked his brush again, having placed the last touches upon the Barrier and was now moving onto the Trigger. Elias decided it would be best if he continued with the theme of non-verbal Triggers, best to prevent catastrophe. The mage thought for a moment, nodding to himself in deciding to make the Trigger 'when the word “Umrekhat” is uttered'. It was simple enough, a common word in nader canoch that mean to unchain, or unleash.

The mage didn't bother with words in common, simply setting the scroll aside for the moment to start upon the second one. Another blank sheet of parchment was produced and his brush was already at work with the next series of Glyphs to be bled upon the parchment. As always he started with the Focus.

Really this task was rather monotonous, very single minded and actually rather dull. It was a necessity more than anything else, to create these weapons to be used against the dangers within the Heartlands. It wasn't exciting like testing a new Reimancy technique or exploring the limits of what Glyphing could accomplish. It was actual work, doing something because he had to.

He started on the next Barrier, the pattern of Glyphs following the same as it always did. The Ravokian sighed as he finished up the next Barrier and started on the Trigger. The mage finished the Focus soon after, already moving his brush along its familiar patterns of the Barrier. Really, he'd actually be grateful to start casting once he had these scrolls completed, today had been nothing but dull business, despite its importance.

As he started upon the Trigger the soldier thought about exactly what kind of spell's he'd need to store. Lightning was always appealing, though if not used carefully it might very well cause a bit of a disaster in the Labs. Lava was likely to catch everything around it on fire, air was too defensive and wouldn't do much for his unless he was dealing with projectiles. Fire, in large enough quantities might very well incinerate most threats. A large amount of Earthen Needles would shred most anything, so that was a definite must. The choices were as endless as his imagination.

When the Trigger was drawn out in its normal position in the upper right hand corner the mage paused for a moment, rolling his shoulders and stretching slightly in his chair. He had to have been sitting here for about at least a bell, probably longer. Unfortunately he was still only about half way done with the task of finishing up his scrolls. After this brief moment of respite the Caldera took up his brush again, starting on a new sheet of parchment.

As the pale mage started upon the fourth scroll this day he let his mind begin to wander, figuring he needed something to do to pass the time. Considering his current task and who he served it was no real surprise that his thoughts turned to Malachai and his new squad. The idea brought a thoughtful crease to his brow, his mind drifting off. He had yet to assemble his men, review their cohesion, address his fellow commanders or much of anything really. There was a mind boggling amount to do, and almost no time to do any of it anymore. The stress and frustration of it all was only compounded upon by the fact that not all of this was because of his poor planning, but because forces outside his control were hampering him. Unlike most commanders, Elias wasn’t allowed to choose his own men for his sqaud. Someone, or someones was attempting to underhand him, obfuscating his will and forcing him to accept a sqaud that was not of his choosing. It seemed even now, he still had foes within the upper echelons of the holy order who still saw him as a threat. Well good, that just meant he was doing something right.

Unfortunately for the mage his thoughts became a little too expressed in his action, which made his strokes on the Barrier a little too sharp and wild. This came to bite him in the ass as when next he attempted to dip his brush he accidently knocked over the inkwell and spilled the black liquid all over the incomplete scroll. Annoyed and more than a little angry the reimancer jumped from his seat, hissing in annoyance.

“Petch me!”

Quickly he righted the inkwell, though the incomplete scroll was sadly unsalvageable at this point. With a dramatic sigh the mage placed the ruined scroll with the failures from his previous experiment, sitting down once more to start anew. A fresh sheet of parchment was produced and placed away from the rest of the spill. He was certainly the glad for the Institute’s copious amount of supplies. In Zeltiva that particular mistake would have earned him a harsh glare cost his some miza's to boot.

Elias finished up the Barrier and started upon the Trigger, his brush strokes slowing accordingly. As before the Trigger simply required blood to be spilt upon it, a drop would be all that was needed. He completed this rather quickly, nodding with satisfaction as he viewed the finished product. With that he placed the completed scroll with the rest of his work and pulled another blank piece of parchment out. As before the Focus was the first thing drawn.

As he drew a jarring thought occurred to Elias. Could it have been Aemelli who was working against him? The Druvin had gone out of her way to single him out once, attempting to rope the poor stryfer into whatever ridiculous plot her kind was likely always getting up to behind the scenes. For Elias though, the idea of making an enemy of one of Rhysol’s chosen to get in the good graces of another -and if he was being brutally honest, one he trusted about as far as he could throw-… about as far as she could throw-… about as much as he trusted anyone in this city, it didn’t sit right with him to the say the least. Thankfully he had skirted around the seductress’s request as smoothly as one could expect, but he felt he’d still done some harm to the immortal’s pride.

That woman... she troubled him in a way that stretched far beyond simple fear or awe. In that immortal's milky white gaze, Elias had seen the sickness of Ravok's dying heart made manifest. She was everything wrong with this city. Unchanging. Uncaring. Unworthy. She was Rhysol's chosen, but not Elias's. If there was to be a new order, a rebirth, then there would first have to be a reckoning. Amelli's name was on the top of the Caldera's list. As would be most of the Druvin, as he expected. It would be the price they paid for their lethargy and self imposed stagnation.

Elias shivered as he started on the Trigger, the thought of Aemelli targeting him, or any of the chosen for that matter, was enough to keep him up at night. What would he do if one decided they could no longer tolerate his presence and made an attempt on his life? He didn’t know enough about the druvin to answer that. They lived forever, as far as he knew, but could they be killed? He’d have to find out, and the sooner the better.

The mage finished up the fifth scroll, placing it aside and starting upon the last one. His brush moved more slowly, matching his ponderous thoughts regarding his future.

Elias started on the Barrier, thinking on the matter a little deeper. This new command would likely bring Elias much prestige, if he survived. House Caldera, if it could even be called that, would also benefit. With his ascension, so to would the family grow greater as a result. It could become a name worth recognizing in this city once again, like the times of old. Of course, that felt like a long time away now. Even his father, the contemptible Torian had made it to paladin, and his legacy had done more harm to the Caldera than good. The old bastard had burned too many bridges, bit too many hands, ruined too many lives. As it was with his own shame, Elias now found he was dealing with his father’s as well now the wretched petch was dead and gone. The burden was growing almost too much to bear.

The swordsman finished up the Trigger, throwing these thoughts to the back of his mind for the time being as he stood and rolled his shoulders. The scrolls were completed, now he just needed to prime them with spells.

The first scroll was moved away from the others by a good margin, ensuring that should the magic get out of control that nothing else important would be damaged. Naturally he also made certain to look around to make certain that he wouldn't run the risk of killing anyone. Reimancy, especially the Para-Elements, could be extremely destructive. Considering the power of his spells Elias found that he was constantly needing to check himself, to make certain he didn't go too far. Not just for the sake of others, but also himself.

At his full power he knew that his spells would completely overwhelm and destroy the scroll, so he needed to tone down the lightning he would summon. Three moderately sized bolts would likely be enough to kill most anything, even whatever horrors the wilderness held. They wouldn't overwhelm the Sigil either, so it was an acceptable compromise.

Nodding to himself the mage willed his Djed to gather under his tongue again, focusing it to pool at a singular point. From here he willed the vital essence of self to push outwards and form as a familiar blue gas. Each breath saw more and more of the gas be pushed outwards and the mage allowed a sigh of pleasure to escape his lips. It was taking the edge off of his weariness, which was certainly very welcome.

He willed the res to gather over the scroll, splitting into three separate clouds of somewhat respectable size. Elias backed up a little, making certain that he was a somewhat safe distance from the res. Lightning could very easily kill the user if not used carefully, as it was a very chaotic and fickle Para-Element. The mage curled his fingers downwards, which was the signal for the res to arc downwards towards the Focus and ignite.

The air around the res crackled malevolently, some of the hairs on Elias's neck standing on end as he felt the odd prickly feeling that came with lightning being formed nearby. The newly born lightning bolts looked like spears of destructive light, speeding down towards the Focus frighteningly quickly. The expected thunderous boom would never come however as the trio of lightning bolts were absorbed into the Focus, priming the first scroll.

Elias recovered from the tingling feeling and moved the scroll aside cautiously, as blowing himself up was certainly not being on the agenda. Likely if any living thing were struck with that much lightning they would be reduced to quivering mess, or worse, chunks. The mage felt the waves of pleasure from the Djed expenditure, the urge whispering in his mind for his to do it again. For one of the few times in his history of magic use, the woman decided to comply with the urge.

Another of the unfilled scrolls was produced and already more gaseous res was being formed, the urge strengthening as he placed more of the vital substance outside of his body. The woman stepped back once again as a trio of clouds were gathered over the scroll, taking a couple of deep breaths to attempt to calm himself. He couldn't let his urge rule his, the lightning bolts he created now were hardly the most powerful spells he could create. Besides, he still had four more scrolls to fill after this.

Elias curled his fingers downwards again, moving his arms down to signal for the clouds to repeat the previous actions of the other clouds of purple res. Purple sparks danced in the air dangerously, harbingers of the powerful and deadly constructs to be made. Less than a tick later the rest of the transmutation occurred, another almost blindingly fast salvo of lightning arcing down towards the Focus.

Elias grinned in quiet delight as the trio of searing blue lightning bolts were absorbed by the Focus, ecstasy alight in his cold eyes. Truly there was no sensation that approached the sheer primal joy of casting, the placing of the powers of the world at his fingertips.

The mist cleared from his vision and Elias reigned in his pleasurable thoughts before they wandered down a very dangerous path. He couldn't afford to be controlled by his magic here, precision was needed to create these scrolls. He still had a bit more work ahead of him, thought the really difficult and taxing casting was now out of the way. Para-Elements, being a combination of two elements working in harmony often were a bit more taxing. The remainder of his spells, while moderately sized, would simply be utilizing the Prime Elements of Fire and Ice.

Elias held both of his hands out before him, willing Djed to gather underneath the palms of his hands. From here he willed the vital energy to push outwards, translucent blue liquid gathering in the palms of his hands rather quickly. Again the urge was brought to the forefront of his mind, however his casting here was not going to be overly large compared to the lightning bolts he had previously discharged. Simple firebolts were going to be contained within the next two scrolls, nothing fancy but each scroll would contain three of the simple elemantal constructs.

The warm vital fluid moved up past his wrists, sheathing his hands in the res. Elias willed the liquid to move outwards from his body, three balls of smooth liquid forming easily in the air over the new scroll. Compared to the lightning this task was nearly as simply as breathing to the mage, the lower tier spells being nothing but child’s play now. Theoretically he could probably have summoned a storm of the things and still have reserves to spare. Perhaps one day he’d have reason to put that to the test.

Once the balls were in position Elias willed them to start circling above the scroll, flicking his wrist idly as they danced around one another. The res ignited and small tinges of pleasure washed over his mind as the three balls of flame were born. The dancing flames twirled and flickered, the outer layer of the balls having been transmuted to flame. Most skilled reimancers layered their transmutations to keep maximum control of their spells until the last possible moment, Elias was one such reimancer. This was especially true for most fire related spells, letting the flames get out of hand was a poor idea.

With a slight movement of his index finger he signaled the dancing balls of flame to speed down towards the Focus, one after the other. As they approached the scroll the mage willed the inner layer of res within them to transmute in sequence. The first one was absorbed into the Focus, followed by the second and finally the third. The flames followed the similar path of the lightning, appearing to have vanished for all intents and purposes.

The urge was now a little more forceful, and the desire to cast more was settling very firmly on his mind. Perhaps if he made the next spell a little bigger, just a little bit larger...

No. He had a plan and he was going to stick to that plan. Carefully Elias set the primed scroll aside and brought out the next empty scroll, res already forming in his palms. He took another few deep breaths, trying to keep control of his emotions as long as he could. This was not the place to lose control, he controlled his magic not the other way around. He was a mage, a professional wizard for all intents and purposes. Being consumed by his own powers was not how he intended to go out.

Again the pale stryfer held out his hands before his, willing the res to sheath his hands. As before he willed the liquid to move outwards from his body, forming three hovering balls of res to circle over the scroll. Today was a day of repetition it would seem, though the Reimancy was a fair bit more exciting than the act of Glyphing common scrolls. It was also a little thrilling to control the dangerous elements and stuff them away inside of pieces of parchment, turning mere parchment into deadly weapons.

Elias flicked his index finger out again, willing the res circling above the scroll to ignite. Three balls of dancing flames flickered into existence as the outer layer of the balls ignited, the action sending a pleasure fueled shudder down his spine. Sex didn't even come close to this kind of power trip. Well... okay maybe that was stretching it a little.

As before Elias willed the Firebolts to speed downwards towards the Focus of the scroll, transmuting the inner layers as they drew close. They entered the scroll one after the other, priming the Sigil to the brim with the reimantic power. The mage allowed his shoulders to slacken slightly, the exhaustion of the amount of casting here starting to get to his. Unfortunately, he knew that he couldn't stop now, as there were only two more scroll to fill up. Once he was done with that, then he could rest.

Elias decided to pause for a brief chime or two to gather himself, to try and maintain control of the waves of demanding excitement and the urge to cast ever larger spells. He drew in a deep breath through his nose, holding it in his chest, only to release it slowly out his mouth. He wasn’t nearly close to his limits, but if the past experiences with the arcane had thought him anything, it was that magic had a way of taking from you more than you took from it.

After those chimes Elias allowed a loud sigh to escape his lips, releasing his hold on his temples as he did. Just two more spells, that was all he needed to squeeze out here and then he could finally rest. They weren't going to be very large either so it wasn't going to be that big of an issue. At least that was the hope. Overgiving was certainly not something he needed or wanted to experience anytime soon.

The mage gathered his Djed underneath the flesh of his arms, willing it to push outwards once it was focused there. Fat cyan droplets formed on his skin, rather like sweat but not quite natural. Elias found that more often than not, reimancer had a tendency of focusing their res at their hands. It was instinct to do so, and it was a failing of their creativity, or rather an unwillingness to think outside the box. Res could be conjured from any point on the body, and the quicker one grew as accustomed to that fact as he had, the better.

He willed these droplets of newly formed res to move outwards from his flesh and hover in the air all around him. Dozens of the things surrounded him, shaping to his whim to resemble a shark's teeth in both size and sharpness.

Elias willed the droplets to move upwards and over the scroll, sighing in contenetment but feeling the exhaustion of the actions weigh further upon his. It didn't really register at the moment as the mage was so focused upon the task at hand, willing the outer layer of each of the spikes to harden and transmute. Soon enough dozens of small icy spikes hovered above the scroll, poised and ready to be released down into the Focus.

The reimancer held them there for a moment, before pointing to the scroll with his index finger. The things immediately and very quickly swarmed downwards, a barrage of ice that would likely have shredded through whatever was in their path. It was not his most powerful of spells, but if nothing else it might prove a distraction if he encountered a particularly nasty creature in the wilds, or an unsuspecting opponent in some back alley.

The frozen shards poured into the Focus, the shredding storm being taken into the Sigil to prime it. As he finished a similar production of res was formed on his arms, the urge pounding at his skull for his to produce more res. For a moment he almost did, almost completely surrendered himself to the feeling of casting. The utter joy of toying with the base elements of the world. Through an effort of will though he managed to keep control, preparing a similar display for the final scroll.

This was the last thing he needed to prime, then he could simply store them away into scroll cases for when they were needed. Hopefully these would be enough to stave off any threats and increase the ceiling of his spell output. There was no preparedness like being overly prepared.

Elias willed the droplets out from his and rose them up above the last scroll, gritting his teeth as he willed the transmutation to occur. Dozens more of the jagged spikes hovered above the scroll, poised to be unleashed at his command. He was licking his lips as he willed the constructs downwards, watching as the shards were absorbed by the scroll.

The mage allowed himself to slump back in his chair, pinching his temples once more in an attempt to stem the throbbing pain within his skull he knew would soon be coming if he wasn’t attentive. A slight trickle of blood was felt working its was down his nose, which he quickly covered with his free arm. Considering his Triggers it would be very, very unwise to bleed all over the very dangerous scroll. Being blown to smithereens by his own magic would be rather embarrassing after all.

With a groan, Elia leaned over and took hold of his bag, safely store the scrolls away in the nearby scroll cases and storing it within. They were cheap and made from leather, but they would keep the scrolls safe which is all Elias was concerned with. Wiping his clammy and sweaty hands on his cloak the pale mage slowly stood and carefully, delicately rolled up the pieces of parchment and stored them away. This task accomplished the mage gathered them up and headed towards the direction of the stairs, his steps slightly uneven as he did. Six scrolls completed, one step closer to being prepared for the what lie ahead, whatever that may be.
