44th of Summer, 516AV
When they got to the lake, Ixzo attacked the fishing kit. Fishing was not a strong point of hers, although she did enjoy the days as a child playing in the Kanduktu Basin. A river was far different of course.
"What's this?" She pulled a wound bit of chord from the small kit, holding it up for Rufio, who was still tending to her horse. The Kelvic had walked alongside her bondmate, forcing her to go much slower than normal to their destination. At least Loha no longer freaked out at the smell of her. Still, she wanted to give her bondsister's strider space, so she wandered over to the river bank, determined to learn how to fish.
They weren't alone at the river, with the city coming so close to this, there were other people who had decided the rare leisure day was worthwhile. Downstream from them, a shrill scream broke the wilderness sounds as a small girl was shoved into the water by her brother. Ixzo's head snapped up before she wrote off the child play, fishing was going to be particularly rough with them making a nuisance. Still, Ixzo didn't say anything, already hearing the chastising from their mother, declaring they should stay with the horses.
Ixzo didn't wear much. She didn't like the restriction of clothing, but today she was limited to a loincloth and a breast wrap, clothes that could easily be slipped in and out of if she needed to transform. She doubted it would be necessary, as she'd much rather get wet as a human than a cat, but the habit was still there. They were also clothes that exposed her tattoos and scars, letting her dark skin absorb the heat of the midsummer day. It was brutal, and the walk had already coated her skin in a slick layer of sweat, all the more reason to be near the water. It was that or baking in their tent with no wish to move.
Giving up on the kit, Ixzo stood up once more, scooping it up in one hand and returning to her bondsister, whistling a quick play-tune. Challenge. "Who catch fish first?" She grinned wickedly, poking her bondmate in the ribs in an attempt to make her laugh. If she had any real intention for catching the fish she might've bought herself arrows meant for water and her bow, attempting to spear one in a way that was familiar. But the idea of a day with no responsibilities was too tempting to give up. Ixzo also knew not to try to bet on things with Rufio. The Drykas was too keen on predicting the outcome, and she always lost, but she couldn't help the competition.
