When Vizyous shut the door of the Sanity Center behind him, what was before him was completely different than before. The traces of mud on his sandals had no known source, the cobblestone ground of Alvadas now perfectly clear and even covered with toe-deep water that would wash it away from it's questionable existance. The water didn't sit so as to collect dirt, but flowed constantly and gently towards some unknown direction, underneath buildings rather than around them. It made Vizyous slightly on-edge, making him fear for a second that it would also flow underneath him and sweep him away, however gentle the current may be.
Vizyous stepped away from the Sanity Center and decided to head down a narrow sidestreet to his immediate right rather than walk through what appeared to be the busier main streets. The coiled anxiety within him had released and been replaced with a calm curiosity, and if Vizyous could be represented by any item at that moment it would have been a sponge absorbing everything from the curious yellow shade of the sky to the scent of exotic foods in the air that wafted from a few of the buildings he walked by.
The small amount of people that he passed on the sidestreet didn't seem to pay him a second glance, perhaps because they were familiar with the unfamilar, or possibly because everyone kept to themselves here-- he hoped it wasn't the latter.
Vizyous continued walking forward for what seemed like a long time, eventually finding out that the street he was on dead ended into an abrupt and towering wall. This wasn't the wall surronding the city, but another that provoked him into scaling it and finding out what was on the other side. Slipping off his sandals, the Symenestra approached the curious looking structure and placed his hand on it. With a small hop, Vizyous landed his foot onto the rough surface of the stone and began crawling up the wall.
Symenestra were natural scalers of walls, although some were excellent compared to others. Vizyous had neglected to work on becoming an elegant and graceful crawler, his legs bending in jerk movements rather than slowly and calculating as his Web had taught. His claws were sharp but sensitive and with every clumsy scrape they gave against the stone, Vizyous inwardly flinched and tried to mind his claws more.
There weren't many people around at all to witness his climb, aside from those inside the buildings nearby. He wondered if maybe this wall moved with the buildings, if it was a permanent structure, or if it was also an illusion. The stone seemed strange and unfamilar to him, and although Vizyous hadn't traveled too much throughout his life thus far, he had spent the majority of his youth living underground where rock was the only type of wall you had. Illusion or not, the wall was scaled relatively quickly although clumsily, and when Vizyous reached the top he peered over the edge in anticipation, preparing to leap down to the other side.
Perhaps Vizyous could muse at Ionu's humor for placing an interesting looking wall in front of a Symenestra, or perhaps Vizyous was just a fool for assuming anything was on the other side. Below was what appeared nothing but darkness, although not that from lack of light. What it was, didn't make sense to him, and Vizyous figured that it never would. How does one see nothing? Could he perhaps just be seeing a very deep, light depriven space?
It made anxiety twist within the man that felt he was teetering on the edge of the world, made him quickly tear his eyes from the black pit he could have plunged into had he been less patient and simply leapt down before looking.
"My fault, I suppose." Vizyous spoke to himself, and to the pit itself, before carefully lowering back down onto the wet cobblestone below.
A bit shaken, the man slipped his sandals on and began heading back the way he came, although ultimately ended up at new intersections and new sideroads. He took routes that he thought were most interesting, making cirlces and seeing if he ended up where he began or if the roads had changed again. Vizyous stuck to staying on land for the day, not climbing anymore things that normally couldn't be climbed, and by the time night had come he was eager to explore more, but knew he should eat and sleep.
The key was retreived from his bag and held in a tight grip, the man wary of theives. Alvadas would be an easy place to live for a criminal, as hiding would be practically unneccesary considering the city changed appearance and layout whenever it pleased. With a bit of faith, Vizyous followed the invisible string that pulled the key towards his new home, until finally he found it.
It sat inbetween two similar houses, small and unremarkable among Alvadas's buildings. The stone appeared aged yet sturdy and idly, Vizyous wondered how the buildings retained their structure even though they were being "moved" by Ionu every day. Without another thought, the Symenestra approached the simple door and inserted the key into the lock, turning it.
He went inside, finding the simplicity and small size of the house comfortable, although without a doubt if he stayed in for too long it would soon become suffocating. Although nocturnal Vizyous found himself drowsy, and after eating fruit from his bag, he went to sleep, content with the new life he had before him.
