Pain. Hauks entire world was pain. It overcame all his senses, and it made a single moment last an eternity. Waves washed over him, caused by any twitch or slight movement. In this moment it was his entire identity. No memory, no thought. Just pain.

Ticks went by as he was consumed by it. Slowly he regained his sense. In the background he could barely make out the sounds of barking. Fen, his canine companion was barking at him, almost to telling him to get up, concern fueling the dogs energy. Deep breaths he kept telling himself, breathing deeply in an attempt to keep the pain away and come back to his surroundings. A huge weight lay on top of him, pinning him between the ground and the trunk of a tree. With a grit of his teeth, and a massive surge of will, Hauk pushed with all his might, using the very pain that crashed over him as fuel.

With a thud, the body of the boar rolled off Hauk, leaving wide the wound that it had left the hunter. The beast had run itself straight through the spear that Hauk had been using, too determined to care. While it had lost its life at the hands of the hunter, a deep gash, just above Hauks hip had been his revenge. Free of the weight, Hauk gasped, blood oozing out of the wound. In his misfortune, he had a bit of luck; a chunk of the boars tusk had broken off and stayed in the wound, keeping most of the blood from leaving.

He pressed his hand to the wound, trying to ignore the pain, and through gritted teeth “I need….to stop the..blood” more to himself than any one else. Fen ran up to him, whining and licking his face knowing that his friend was hurt. He appreciated the friends concern, but Hauk had to push his friends head away. Thankfully, the dog seemed to understand, and sat back, watching Hauk struggle, concern clearly in his eyes.

Propping himself up against the tree, Hauk looked down at the injury. Blood. That was what he mostly saw. That and the end of the tusk sticking out his side, a pearly white against the backdrop of a deep, dark red. Hauk wasn’t sure what to do. He needed to cover it, that was sure, but he couldn’t just bind it with cloth, the blood would just seep through. He looked around, frantically thinking. Next to his hand, he saw that his blood had mixed with the dirt and leaves there, making a thick soup. An Idea sprang to his mind. It wasn’t going to be pretty, and it was probably gunna hurt, a lot, but what choice did he have? Grabbing a handful dirt, Hauk smeared into his wound, grunting at the pain.

The dirt slowly soaked up the blood, which was what it needed to do. That should buy me a few moments. Taking one of the daggers he carries with him at all times, Hauk reached down to his leg, several inches above his knee and cut off his pant leg. Ripping it down the middle even further, he now had two equal lengths of cloth he could now use to wrap around the wound. The makeshift wrap would have to do, and combined with dirt, that should buy him enough time to get to the camp. He needed a healer, desperately. He knew that there wasn’t one at the outpost. His only chance of survival would be to make it to one of the boats that would take him to city.

Reaching over to the dead boar, Hauk used the shaft of the spear prop himself up, finally standing. Slowly, he wrapped both his hand around it, and with all the might he could muster, Hauk managed to work the spear free of the dead animal. He would have to leave the boar here, left to the scavengers and other animals. He was loath to, but he knew that it would not be a waste. Turning away, He staggered back towards the outpost with Fen who would not leave his side, using the spear as crutch moving slowly, painfully, onward.
--------------
Hauk arrived at the outpost with time to spare before the next boat left. He had made quite the uproar when he did, with several of the locals rushing to his aid. Someone, he wasn’t sure who, gave him something to drink. Another man, this time someone whom Hauk recognized as the owner of the general goods store, sat him down and examined the wound. The next few events where a blur; hehad began to feel the effects of the blood loss. A heated knife had been produced from somewhere, followed by a searing pain. The world went black.

A few chimes later Hauk awoke. The sharp pain of his wound present, but by some miracle hauks head was more or less clear. The same man who sat him down was crouched next to him. “You need to get to Ravok, now. We managed to cauterize your wound, but it’ll only hold for a some bells.” Hauk looked down and saw the black and charred skin of the wound, mixed with the blood and dirt. ”Help me up”, said the hunter through grimaced teeth. With the support from the other man, Hauk slowly stood on his too feet. “Thank you” looked at the man, “I may just owe you my life.”

“All I did was buy you a few more hours of your life, friend” He answered with a wry smile, “You’ll owe which ever healer that fixes you up you life. In the mean time, I’ll hold on to this…” He held up the chunk of boar tusk that had previously been stuck in his wound. “I might make something from it for you, that is if you survive.”

Hauk nodded, not really wanting to say more given his state. Looking around, he found Fen loyally at his side. “Lets go boy.” Together, they made their way to the boat.

The voyage of a life [Itt]

Postby Itt on February 18th, 2019, 4:34 am

It had been a long day. Itt had been up all night last night, mapping the city the best he could and following some statue he had thought was a bird. That wasn't even the best part. Anyway, on top of him being extra tired today due to not sleeping much last night, he was also running back and forth on this boat all day.

He started off by the guy from yesterday waking him up. The man's hair was messier than his own on a bad day. He told him to repeat after him and take the message to a guy with a big face tattoo here at the outpost. The several bell trip was all for naught though because over the past few hours Itt has almost entirely forgotten the message. So he was sent back to the first man, got a good slap on the face, and retaught the message. He came back to the outpost and repeating the message by the skin of his teeth, was told to go and say that he got the message.

So that was what he was going to do.

For what was hopefully his last trip of the day, Itt boarded the first boat on it's way to the city. He didn't wasn't entirely sure what the city was actually called, as he hasn't really heard anyone say what it was called. Or maybe it just meshed too well within the gibberish everyone seemed to speak already. Either way, he was going back— no more boat trips today! He was done! No more, he was good on the boat things, too much water sailing for one day, thank you very much.

Itt had taken a seat by one of the sides of the ferry. By seat that meant he was leaning on the side of the boat so much that if someone swept his feet out from under him he wouldn't fall over. He started at the water, arms dangling over the edge, his eyes puffy and red from the exhaustion of a long day looking back at him. He just wanted to go back to where he had been and take a nap. A long nap. One that lasted 10 bells or so. Yeah, that sounded like a good nap.

Itt was just getting comfortable as the ship started sailing, hoping he might be able to get some shut-eye on the trip there. But just like every other trip today, there were a bunch of loud people, yaking away. There was also always someone who smeller horrid— so horrid that his nose tingled. Like feces or rotten berries or something. But this time, all the talking was different.

The smell was different.

Itt crinkled his nose, looking at his arm. The slice across the side was scabbed over, a juniper leaf glued onto it by the crusted blood. Itt had taken special care to make sure it stayed on because the man from yesterday made sure he knew it was good for him. But maybe he messed up? Was it still bleeding? The scent of blood was too strong for it not to be bleeding again. Itt sniffed his makeshift bandage, but the subtly of the aroma perplexed him. If he wasn't bleeding then who was?

He turned his head to glance around. Women in some dresses and high boots, men with hats and big man beards, and- Oh! A doggy! Look at that cute dog, he was pretty. He had a nice co- oh no, what in the world happened to that guy?

Itt's eyes bulged from his head a bit, looking at the man who looked paler than he was, his shirt reddening. The smell suddenly became more intense, Itt's nose stinging from rejection. He almost wanted to throw up how bad the iron liquid smelled, it was almost potent to him. But even the sloth knew that a smell won't kill you. Probably.

The Kelvic looked at him for a few chimes, his brain getting used to the fumes that were berating his nose. But when it started to dissipate due to his tolerance building up, Itt thought more about what happened to the man. Maybe he fell off a roof and hurt himself too.

With his curiosity got the better of him, Itt walked his way over, his face in a state of confusion and wonder. The dog really was cute, but the bloody wound was just a tad bit overpowering in terms of demanding his attention.

The voyage of a life [Itt]

Postby Hauk Tarn on February 18th, 2019, 6:07 am

The boat had been full of people, but to Hauk, they barely existed. Once they had set sail, Hauk and Fen found themselves a corner to settle into, and the hunter promptly slid down the wall. He had to support himself with the hand rails and walls as he went, for the guardsmen at the dock had refused to let him through before storing all his weapons, the spear he had been using as a crutch included. He felt less pain than a few bells before, when he had the boar had gotten him, but he knew that his life was still in danger. He felt it.

He was unsteady on his feet, and felt as if his legs would betray him at any moment. The tips of his fingers he felt a cold numbness, and his entire body was surrounded by a chill. Worse yet, he felt a sort of… exhaustion, gnawing at the edges of his consciousness. It was not something he had ever felt before; not the tiredness of a long day of work, nor the drunken bliss that comes from a night of drinking. No, this was different. And he feared it.

The makeshift wrapping that he had used to cover the wound was utterly soaked in blood, although it had succeeded in stopping the blood loss. That, and the emergency cauterization that they had done in the outpost. Although the blood had stopped, still felt his strength ebb away from him ever so slowly. The rocking of the damned boat didn’t help.

As if sensing his master’s worry, Fen had curled up next Hauk, as if to lend him some of the dogs warmth and strength. Hauk could not appreciate Fen any more than at that moment. His hand gently petted Fens back, sliding across the smooth coat. “If I get through this…” he whispered, “Im going to buy you a whole lot of treats, you got that boy?” Fen picked up his head to look up Hauk, licking his face gently and wagging his tail. If I get though this, he thought.

Deep breaths. That’s what Hauk concentrated on. As of now this boat was his only chance of survival. The boat was his life. Yet this boat was also the cause of his agony. While the waters of the lake were relatively calm, he felt every twitch, every swell, as if he himself were caught in it. These sensations rolled though him, igniting the pain at his side and making him nauseous.
Breath deep. He tried to empty his mind of everything, trying to remove the pain, the discomfort…but to no avail. This damn boat wouldn’t let him. this damn boat…would safe his life. He had to keep reminding himself of that, reminding himself that life was going to be saved because of this boat. Right now, he hated it. The exhaustion grew.

So caught up was he in his own world that he barely noticed when Fen had began to growl. Opening his eyes, Hauk saw a young man, rather small if he were to be honest, approaching the pair, his eyes darting back and forth between Fen and Hauk. Fen, still lying beside hunter growled louder, protective of his injured master. “Fen…” he said, somewhat weaker than what he would have liked, “…its alright”, he said reassuringly. Turning back to the approaching man, He propped himself up and nodded a greeting, unsure if he wanted any company other than Fen right now.

Itt had kept his hand on the railings, walking along the side of the boat towards the man when the dog started growling. The deep rumbling scared him, forcing him to jump back. But the floorboards were slippery and his feet ran out from underneath him. He fell on his rump with a thud and a gasp of brief, dull pain, but pushed away from the dog with his heels, hoping it wouldn't attack him. He didn't mean to make it mad, he just wanted to see the guy! He wasn't going to do anything to the dog! He wouldn't even pet it- or look at it or nothing if it wanted!

Itt's hands trembled lightly, his eyes wide, remaining in a balled form on the floor. The sloth wasn't used to ferocious eyes being on him, so the look of aggression terrified him. He almost stared too long at the dog because he almost missed the man's greeting which was a polite nod.

Itt understood that. He wasn't used to people greeting him silently. People were all too fond of their words so most times people's welcomes were just sounds on his ears that he didn't understand. But he understood that!

Itt nodded in return, trying to swallow the terror in him like it was a bug that was still alive. It took a moment, but he eventually remembered what he came over there for. The Kelvic let go of the railing above him and tried to dig the item out of his pant pocket. it was harder to open pockets when you were sitting down, he realized, so he eventually laid down for a moment on his packet to try and retrieve the Juniper leaf intact. When it was freed from his pocket, he sat up with a new soaked back and a somewhat decent Juniper leaf.

The leaf was folded in a few spots, so it wasn't in 100% best condition, but he thought it might do.

Itt held it up to the man, and his dog, to see. He also lifted his arm which had been cut the day before with a Juniper leaf laying on top of it. He was going to use it as a replacement for the old leaf on his arm if and when it stopped sticking, but Itt thought this guy needed it more. If a leaf helped his own cut then maybe it would help this man's cut.

The voyage of a life [Itt]

Postby Hauk Tarn on February 18th, 2019, 10:06 pm

Fens growling had evidently startled the approaching man, for he had jumped back and slipped on the moist floorboards of the ship they were on. His apparent clumsiness seemed enough to calm Fen; it has assured the dog that his man was no threat. As such, his growling had stopped, but he still kept his eyes on the figure. Hauk for his part had to suppress a chuckle when he did see the stranger fall, both because the vibrations hurt and also because he did not wish to offend. He hoped the wince that covered his pain was convincing enough. It sure felt real enough.

“Pay no mind to Fen..” he coughed, noticing how the young man in front of him stared at the dog, “..his bark is worse than his bite…usually” He allowed himself a smile, while gently stroking his dog’s coat, knowing full well how effective Fen’s bite could be.
He wasn’t sure if the young man understood him, for he did not say anything back, at least not yet anyway. Though he did seem understand the nod at least. Instead of replying, the stranger seemed to be digging for something, for what Hauk hadn’t the slightest idea. It took him a few moments, going so far to lay over his pack, arching himself over it as he dug his hands in his pockets. What he produced confused Hauk just as much as the act. It was a leaf. Slightly worn, but otherwise it still seemed fresh.

Hauks confusion continued even after the young man held up his arm, not sure what he was trying to…Ah. Now he understood. He saw that he had a similar looking leaf plastered on to his arm, as some one would when trying to cover a cut or injury. Was he offering him the leaf to cover his own wound?

Hauk looked down. The makeshift bandage and linen shirt were covered in crusty dried blood, but the injury still felt fresh; it was pain that both stabbed and pulsed. He had not seen the wound since before the emergency cauterization; if he were to be honest with himself, he didn’t want to look. The image of the raw flesh, the chunk of boar tusk and flow of blood was still fresh in his mind. A wave hit the side of the boat, making it pitch and yaw violently, or at least violently enough to cause a wave of nausea crash of Hauk. He shut his eyes, trying to picture green pastures and trees in the breeze, driving the images of the wound from his mind as he waited for the sickness to subside.
The boat is going to be the death of me.It didn’t escape him that this boat was also what would save his life.

He opened his eyes once more as the feeling subsided, looking from the leaf, to the young mans face. “What..what is it?” he managed to say.

Itt watched the dog from the corner of his eye. Even though it had stopped growling, the hair on Itt's neck still were standing in heated caution. He's had a few close encounters with bigger, hairier dogs back in Syliras before, the images of jowls pulled back, tight gums, and gnashing teeth were not taken lightly by him. Sure, he liked the dogs, especially ones that followed people. But he was very much aware of their dangers. Not every dog was friendly.

Itt listened carefully to what the man said. Not only was it likely vital information about the dog, but it was also hard to hear him over the gentle waves of the lake and the sloshing of the thin line of water that ran over the boards, hitting his legs. But as usual, Itt didn't understand much. Nothing at all, really. 'No' was familiar, but most times when people told him no it was to tell him to stop doing something. So don't go near the dog maybe?

He could do that.

The sloth nodded again, showing him and the dog that he agreed to not get any closer. The stench of blood was strong enough as it was from here. He continued to hold up the leaf, gesturing to his arm a few times since he didn't get an immediate response, which usually meant he didn't understand. He even put the leaf on a clean(er) part of his arm to show him what to do with it.

As the Kelvic was peeling the leaf off his arm, the boat jerked, knocking Itt on to his side, since he wasn't sitting in a very boat friendly position with only his rump and heels touching the ground to prevent himself from getting any more wet. He almost dropped the leaf into the water pool on the floor, but he held onto it enough that it didn't slip away. He quickly sat up again, holding the leaf out once more to show that the leaf was okay. It was okay everyone, the leaf was okay!

Oooooh, that guy really didn't look good.

Itt grimaced at his clammy face and closed eyes. He looked like he didn't feel good. He really hoped that the leaf would help.

When the man reawakened, he stared at him, saying a phrase that was familiar.

What is it? Oh! Oh! He knew that one! He's asking his name!

Itt grinned proud he was able to understand something, pointing to himself with his other hand,"What the petch is that. Courier." He then pointed to the man in hopes of learning his. "You?"

Concern swept across Hauks face. What the petch? Courier? The strangers reply made no sense to him. He worried that the blood loss was beginning to affect his perception of the world so much so that he missed the man’s second question. Taking a deep breath, trying to clear his head, Hauk pointed to the leaf once more and asked “What kind of leaf is that?”.

At this point, Fen had almost forgotten his previous agitation as curiosity consumed him. He leaned forward, sniffing at the leaf. It wasn’t the same when the hunting dog was following a trial. This was more plain curiosity. “Fen..” Hauk called, remembering the mans concern when Fen had started to growl. To his trainings credit, the hunting dog backed off, observing the man infront of him

Hauk felt the numbness in fingers grow. His legs started to tingle. How much longer did he have to wait for this damned boat to cross the lake?
I need…to get my blood flowing, he thought to himself. Can’t let my body stiffen up. With on hand resting on his wound, he used the other to brace against the floor, not caring about the stagnant water. With gritted teeth, Hauk slowly stood, using the side and the railing of the boat to support himself as it the ship rocked back and forth. Fen, surprised by sudden movement lept up and looked at Hauk, forgetting that they had company, he let out a single bark, as if asking his master what he was doing.

“It’s ok Fen,” Hauk said, his voice sounding more confident that he felt. Turning back to the young man, he gestured to the leaf and then to his wound, remembering what the stranger had done with it before the boat had jerked. “Is it medicine?” he asked hopefully? If it was, it may be expensive, Hauk was sure. He wasn’t didn’t why a stranger would offer up something that was expensive. He had heard that the people of Ravok weren’t exactly trust worthy. Oh sure, they put a civilized front, but the way the knights had always talked about it, it seemed as if they were hiding something. In that moment, though, he really didn’t care. He wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

He repeated the question, as calmly as he could. “is it medicine?” Looking down at his wound he noticed that a trickle of blood had seeped through.
Petch. He was going to have to change the bandaging, but he didn’t have anything to do it with. When was this ship gunna dock?

Itt's brows folded and scrunched, his eyes narrowing on the man's lips as if the words spewing from his mouth would make sense if he focused hard enough. That the words would magically translate themselves from the void of his mouth. But obviously that didn't happen.

What kind of leaf is that. That was his name. Huh, both their names began with What. How interesting. He liked the sound of it though. Itt smiled, his face relaxing,"What kind of leaf is that." He repeated to make sure he got it right. He had gotten pretty good at repeating after people for the past couple of days due to sending messages.

Itt was excited to be conversing somewhat with someone that he didn't notice the dog had walked up to him until its short sniffs brushed his fingers. He froze, as Itt was prone to due in stressful situations, holding his breath. The dog didn't necessarily seem that aggressive anymore, but it also didn't seem aggressive before it started growling, so Itt didn't know what to think. He was glad when the dog returned to the man's side though, his tense shoulder's slumping some.

The made continued to ask something, Itt trying to parse what was being said. Medicine sounded familiar... The guy from yesterday who gave him the leaf said medicine. At least Itt thought so. Itt nodded, reaching the leaf out more to him, hoping he'd take it.

The young man nodded when Hauk had said medicine. He could clearly talk, but for what ever reason chose not to. Perhaps the lad was a foreigner, like Hauk? That would explain the odd response he had given earlier. Hesitantly, Hauk reached over and took the offered leaf. He was fairly sure that the leaf was medicinal, if the strangers enthusiasm was any indication. Well, it wasn’t like Hauk had anything to lose.

Slowly, leaning back against the rail of the ship Hauk undid the bandaging around his wound. The cloth was crusty with dried blood, and clung to his skin. Peeling it, he revealed the extent of his wound. It was, for the most part, closed, but that was due to the cauterization. Blackened, charred skin stood in stark contrast to Hauks lightly tanned skin. However it was not uniform. Already cracks in the skin shown, likely caused by the jerking of the ship and his own movements, the angry red of flesh and blood like coursing like veins. It was from these ‘cracks’ that blood still seeped through. Hauk winced. The cool breeze of the lake hitting the wound like a slap. His legs threatened to give out on him, especially as the boat rocked along the waves, and he had to pause a moment to steady himself.

once he was ready, Hauk examined the leaf. It wasn’t exactly large enough to cover the whole thing, but it certainly was better than nothing. He glanced down at the wound and briefly considered what would be the best way to apply the leaf. He decided that length wise, following his waist would be best, so he proceeded to apply the leaf. At first the sensation stung, the leaf washing the area with a cool tingling sensation, but after all the pain he had already endured, this was almost relieving. Once the leaf was fully applied, he held his hand against it, securing it in place. Soon he felt a peaceful numbness cover the wound entirely. He let out a deep sigh.
Thank Caiyha. He briefly thought out a small prayer to the goddess of the wilderness, for this leaf was direct from her domain, even if it had come to him through other means.

Turning to the young man whom had provided this relief, Hauk once again nodded, this time in thanks. He would have even bowed slightly, however such a move was beyond him. The boar continued to lurch as it sailed onwards, and Hauks feet began to slip of the soggy boards. Instead of fighting it, he let himself fall slowly down back into a sitting position, legs out infront of him, resting his back against the wall of the ship.

Pointing to himself, he said “Hauk”, giving the man his name. Pointing to the dog who sat beside them both,“Fen”. H e wanted to thank this man, and would like his name to do so. He pointed back to the stranger, certain that he spoke very little common, and asked, “Name? what is your Name?” hopefully he would understand this.

As he spoke Hauk tried to clear his thought, but all it led to was a few harsh coughs. “Gods, I could use some water” he mumbled to himself.

Itt smiled when the stranger finally took and applied the leaf. He wasn't sure if it helped much, considering that he's seen many man traveling through Syliras with wounds similar and never wake up, but the look of relief his face and breath gave was enough to encourage Itt. It must have helped. Right?

The sloth gave some time to thinking about what the man was trying to say when he said 'Hauk' and 'Fen'. After a few moments, Itt remembered that the man has said Fen several times before, all in reference to the dog. Soooo, the conclusion therefore is that that's the dogs name! Haha! The dog's name is fen! Wait, did that mean the man's name was Hauk and not What Kind of Leaf is That? Woops.

Itt pointed to himself again, repeating,"What the petch is that." Maybe he hadn't heard him earlier. He looked awfully tired, and Itt understood that tiredness could cause one not to hear things as well because he was often tired. Leaves didn't give much energy if you think about it.

Before Itt could respond, the man fell back against the wall and slid down, the Kelvic frowning. He was in really bad shape if he couldn't even stand. What else could he do to help?

The word water then tapped his ears.

"Water?" He said, his voice awkward with unfamiliarity in the language. His mind flashed back to when he had heard someone screaming for water just outside of Syliras, some knights producing a skin of water, dumping it on the man and in his mouth. He could get water!

Itt nodded and glanced around, realizing quickly that there weren't any trees around. Itt normally was able to get water from trees if he so wanted, but that was the thing. He needed trees. And there were no trees on this boat. Itt bit his lip and glanced around.

Everyone else on the boat was either watching with intense stares or remaining as far away from the pair as possible, acting as if they didn't exist. No one appeared to be drinking anything, but someone did have a bottle hanging on their belt in a net like bag.

Itt wasted no time and went over, almost slipping on the way there. The man he walked towards looked almost offended at his approach, one eyebrow raised in a sharp hook and a frown in the shape of a crescent moon on his lips. Itt pointed to the bottle,"Water?"

"There's no water left in it." He said, his voice stern.

Itt understood no water, but he didn't care if the bottle didn't have water in it, he just needed the bottle. He nodded to show he understood,"Water." He pointed to the lake.

The man didn't look all that happy with what Itt had suggested, his hooked eyebrow furrowing into a glare. But he glanced over at Hauk for a tick or two, and grunted. He gave Itt the bottle, waving him away.

Itt took the container with glee, flashing Hauk a smile over his shoulder. He quickly went to the railing of the boat and leaned over the edge, trying to reach the surface of the lake. But the sides were just too tall. Or maybe Itt was just too short. Or both. That was probably it.

The sloth huffed and grabbed the railing. He stepped his legs over it one at a time, and with as firm of a grip as he could muster on his right hand, reached down to fill the bottle. It didn't matter if he was short if he brought himself closer to it, so with a smug smirk, he filled the bottle.

To make sure it didn't take too bad, Itt took a large mouthful, swishing it in his mouth to get a good taste. It definitely tasted like what he thought this lake would taste like. Nothing like tree water. But it wasn't salty, or too bitter, so he figured it was fine. He spat the water back into the bottle and pulled himself back on the deck.

Because Itt had quite literally thrown his weight onto the side of the boat, the shipped rocked and leaned to that side. So when he came back onto the deck, the boat rocked the other way to compensate for the sudden shift. Bare feet, wet floors, and rocking boats weren't necessarily friends, and much like earlier for the 3rd time, Itt slipped and fell to the deck with a loud slap of skin and a grunt. "Aaaauuugh." He groaned, grimacing. This stupid boat. He swore he wasn't going to get on another boat for days! For seasons! He wishes he'll never get on a boat! Flying was a much more efficient way to travel!

Some of the water in the bottle had spilled, but not enough to warrant Itt to go back. So he stood up and rubbed his side where he had landed and went over to Hauk again, holding the bottle out to him. "Water."
