INFUSION

Administer: orally, hot or cold, 1 cup 3-6x/day
Uses: flowers, stems, leaves
Shelf Life: 12 bells
Ratio: 2tsp fresh/1tsp dried herb/1c water
Instructions:
(.1.) herb -> ceramic pot
(.2.) boiling water -> herb, cover
(.3.) wait 15 chimes
(.4.) strain w/ cheesecloth
(.5.) add honey for flavor

DECOCTION

Administer: orally, hot or cold, 1Tbsp 3x/day
Uses: roots, barks, seeds, nuts
Shelf Life: 12 bells
Ratio: 1tsp fresh or ½tsp dried herb/1c water
Instructions:
(.1.) herb -> pan
(.2.) cold water -> herb
(.3.) wait 3 bells (12 for roots)
(.4.) cover, slow boil
(.5.) simmer 30-60 chimes
(.6.) strain w/ cheesecloth, squeeze
(.7.) add to sweet drinks

POULTICE (fresh herbs)

Administer: topically, replace after 4-6 bells
Part: flowers, stems, leaves, roots (powder)
Recommended plants: burdock root, dandelion leaves, calendula petals, chickweed stems/leaves, plantain leaves
Shelf Life: use immediately
Instructions:
(.1.) chop herb, crush into pulp w/ mortar
(.2.) apply evenly across wound
(.3.) wrap w/ muslin

POULTICE (quick)

Administer: topically, replace after 3-5 bells
Part: leaves
Recommended plants: lemon balm, bee balm, plantain, mullein
Shelf Life: use immediately
Instructions:
(.1.) bruise herb leaf in hand
(.2.) spread leaf over skin
(.3.) wrap w/ muslin

POULTICE w/ dried herbs (faster)

Administer: topically, replace after 4-6 bells
Part: flowers, stems, leaves, roots (powder)
Recommended plants: same as fresh
Shelf Life: use immediately
Instructions:
(.1.) add water to herb (hot or cold for powder, hot for other)
(.2.) (powder) mix into thick paste
(.3.) apply evenly over wound
(.4.) wrap w/ muslin

INFUSED OIL

Use: roots, barks, seeds, nuts
Use for: salves, or apply topically in a pinch
Shelf Life: 30 days
Ratio: 8:1 oz oil to oz dried herb
Instructions:
(.1.) herb -> jar, cover w/ oil
(.2.) stir
(.3a.) seal jar, let sit for ~35 days OR
(.3b.) double boiler, slow boil 4-8 bells
(.4.) strain w/ cheesecloth, seal jar
