Hair color

Hey, does anyone know how to change hair/eye color in pics? I can do basic ones, but I haven't been able to change the colors in my sig and avi. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I needed her hair to be black with white underneath and to have silvery eyes, but for some reason couldn't change it >.<

Here's what I did with the sig, let me know what to change.

EDIT: Do you have a copy of the avatar that doesn't say Solas on it? It's hard to edit the hair with it there, so I was thinking I could just add the text in after I finish painting in the hair?

I know you said you'd help Senn, but for other peoples benefit, how exactly did you do it?
Was it using a site like picnik or do you have to download an official program?
