Laviku Monument
This statue, depicting Laviku the God of the Sea, is a reasonably new monument in Zeltiva, funded by the Administrative Committee of the Sailors' Guild. It stands in the very center of the Ancient Quarter, the figure sits regally on a rock, elevated above the square it sits in, staring out at Zeltiva's people in a heroic fashion. The eyes of the figure are crafted from seaglass, and catch the light reflecting from the sea on sunny days.
It was crafted by the artisan Perram "Perry" Marvelo, who resides in a small workshop near the docks. He's a quiet man, but is dedicated to his work. He crafted much of his heart and soul into the monument, and received a generous fee of Mizas for his efforts.
It was commissioned from the Council in the hopes that the monument will create renewed interest in the oceanic deity, and remind people of the power of the sea. It serves as proof that Zeltiva and it’s people remain dedicated to the God of the Sea, and proud of their devotion. It is comforting to many, knowing that Laviku watches over them.
