The day after Ennisa's sparring match with Vigor, she counted her kina, asked Itzi nicely if she would look after the sleeping baby for a bell or two, and went to the Azure Market. The situation the day before had got her thinking, and she knew she needed to buy a few extra things if she was going to be able to do her usual tasks with a baby in tow. Life was difficult enough already without having the problem of childcare added to it. Before she went, she flicked to the back of her notebook and wetted the nib of the quill with ink to write a small shopping list.
The first requirement was some kind of basket, so she scribbled this down at the top. The basket was to put the child in so that if she needed to, she could set him down and not worry about him falling over and hurting himself. She tapped the pen against her chin as she thought. There were a few other things she knew she needed. Namely, and at this thought she cast a wary glance at the desk where her cloak and hat were draped, some thicker winter clothes. Her cloak, which somehow had miraculously changed its colour, was perfect for spring through to autumn, but the chill winds of winter cut through it like, well... ice.
There was also the distrust she felt towards the two articles of clothing. Ever since the dream where the baby had come from, various things had changed or gone missing. Her dagger was gone, though she couldn't remember losing it anywhere in particular. Her cloak was a shimmering new thing, and her hat... She set the pen down and gingerly placed the hat on her head. It was comfortable like it had always been, but... "Are you really that cold, wearing a hat indoors?" A little sarcastic voice whispering in her subconscious. It was, and could only be the hat, of course. It was all too strange.
She took the hat off again, and picked up the pen. She wrote down the rest of the things she wanted to get, and double-checked her kina. Once she was ready, she waved goodbye to Itzi, gave her baby a final, measured look, and left.

It was a lovely day, but Ennisa was cold and as such, a little miserable. She walked briskly to try to warm herself up. By the time she reached the Azure Market, she had mostly succeeded, except her exposed hands, ears, and the tips of her toes. First things first would be the new, warmer cloak and hat. Perhaps a scarf, too. She looked around and instead of going to the Silk Palace like she normally did, she sought somewhere with ready-made clothing. She had no patience for waiting.
Thankfully, due to the plunging temperatures, the various seamstresses and tailors of Lhavit had been capitalising on it to produce warming clothes for caught-out Lhavitians just like Ennisa. There were several stalls and small little shops peddling such items, with wildly varying price tags depending on how confident the seller was feeling. Ennisa ignored the first two shops that popped up as she entered the Azure in favour of those deeper within the twisting streets of the market. She hoped those, which might reasonably be expected to get less trade, would be better priced in the hopes of getting a sale that way.
Eventually she stopped outside the neatly laid out stall of a pale-skinned woman, who was sipping a mug of steaming tea. "Hello there!" Ennisa greeted the woman and began to feel the material of the woollens laid out on the table. She was pleased to feel the texture; rough yet warming, and thick enough to keep the snow off her. She picked a dark brown item with a hood out from the pile and asked, "Can I try this on?" The woman considered, then nodded in the affirmative.
Ennisa slipped the cloak around her shoulders and fastened it at the collar. She swished a few times. The material felt comfortable, and warm. The hood was trimmed with a soft, tan-coloured fur, which was delightfully warming. She didn't bother to take it off again. "How much?"
"That's one kina and 5 topaz kina." Ennisa's eye landed on a set of deep, burgundy red gloves and a scarf that lay nearby. She ummed and idled whilst admiring the woollen material, then caved. "How much for these, as well?"
"The gloves and scarf together come to one kina and 8 topaz. Are you getting all three things?" The shop-keeper grinned. Ennisa, feeling generous as well as cold, dug the coins from her coin purse and deposited them in the woman's hands. "Thank you."
