Name: Gweneveh Race: Human Date of Birth: 82nd of Spring, 492 AV Place of Birth: Lhavit, Kalea Title/Occupation: Pleasure worker at The Red Lantern Skills: Acting- 97 Seduction- 51 Persuasion- 63 Acrobatics- 44 Meditation- 36 Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Fluent), Nari (Basic) Personality/History: Gwenenveh had an insignificant upbringing. Her parents held no great influence but didn’t find themselves poverty-stricken. Theirs had been an arranged marriage, something of a sideways business move that went nowhere, leaving the two in a loveless relationship with nothing more to show for it, but the two were in it together and decided to make the best of it. While they didn’t love each other, they weren’t about to miss out on the pleasure to be had. The fruits of that pleasure were three children, all daughters. The eldest left the City of Lights and made a name for herself defying death with the Inverted in Alvadas. Showing a particular affinity for projection, the youngest joined the Shinya, thriving there while not necessarily moving up the ranks.
The middle daughter was Gweneveh. No one really ever expected much from her. They thought she would disappear into the regular day-to-day of the city, become another forgotten cog just like her parents, but she had ideas of her own and made connections as she grew up, the one that mattered most of these being Madame Belladonna. Gweneveh knew her before she opened the Lantern, and the two became fast friends.
When Belladonna, or Bee as Gweneveh knew her, suggested they open a brothel, Gweneveh was only too pleased to go along with the idea. Whether it was an idea of her own creation or the product of growing up with two parents in a loveless marriage, Gweneveh had come to the conclusion that love wasn’t real. One could love their family and their friends, but romance was just an idea that people played at, and if there were people foolish enough to pay for that illusion, she was happy to reap the benefits.
While she didn’t believe in it, she could fake it, play it, as if she was head over heels. Anyone she tried this on fell for the trick, tricked themselves into believing love was real, as she saw it. Together, the two managed to fund Bee’s idea and turn it into a reality, and while it was a joint effort, Gweneveh let Bee step into the spotlight. Her friend had the natural air of grace and sophistication that made her the better fit to be the face of their new venture.
As their business boomed, Belladonna drew them in, but it was Gweneveh who seemed to retain more clientele. Those who came to her believed they were in love. While her skills in pretending and making others believe in what she pretends are her greatest tool, her memory is what holds it all together. She remembers most everything her clients tell her about themselves and everything they tell her about the way they feel about her. She even remembers details that their closest friends don’t recall.
Though she is a somewhat clumsy seductress, Gweneveh more than makes up for it with the way she manipulates the emotions of those she entertains. She is unafraid to perform the usual work by the bell that most of the other women in the Lantern do, but she is in her element when she is alone with a single customer for a length of time. Most of her regular clientele will pay for a whole night or day with her, and those she has come to trust and know best are welcome to her actual living quarters on the second story.
As Gweneveh was with Belladonna from the beginning, she is one of the Madame’s few confidants and one of the few who knows the truth about her history. As manipulative as she can be, Gweneveh is loyal and would never disclose information about her friends and her clients. Though she firmly believes that romance is a pretense, she still cares for those whose hearts are in her hands.
Description: Lymne House sits on a fairly standard street on Zintia Peak, perhaps about fifteen chimes walk from the Azure Market. The most noticeable main feature of the house is the large black door that serves as the entrance to the building. It is accessible up the three front door steps, whose tiles have cracked over time as weeds have grown in the corners. The numerous windows seen from the front of the house are all small, square, and often curtained over and closed shut. The walls are made out of the local stone, and the building is tiled with slates, though unseen from the road, the middle of the roof boasts a decent domed skyglass skylight. The older residents of the street remember who once lived there, and sigh at the state of disrepair the house has fallen in to.
Lymne House is the family home of the now deceased Lymne family. The owners were an accomplished mage who found his success in his peculiar brand of tinctures and potions that were the rage for a while, long ago, and an artist who never really 'got big', but whose abstract, colourful art adorns the walls of the house. When, due to old age, the occupants died, the house was inherited by the strange Lymne daughter, Laure. When in turn she died, the house fell into the ownership of the daughter's husband, Clement, though this last resident only uses a few rooms and has allowed the house to fall into disrepair and neglect. As such, Lymne House now looks rather sad and lonely, and those who pass it in the street would struggle to tell that anyone lived there at all.
Although Clement is the sole living owner of the house, Laure Lymne still haunts her old family home. There is evidence of her all across the house, if you know where to look. Smashed family paintings, torn sheets, and Mr Lymne's trashed workshop show her frustration and malevolence. Whilst walking through the property, one might even feel the ghostly chill of the dead woman, as she considers what to do with the trespass.
Ground (1st) Floor Parlour: This room contains an old harp whose strings are beginning to snap. Most of the furniture is packed into one corner, as if ready to be moved out. Kitchen: The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment. Pots and pans lie across the surfaces, and the hearth is neatly stocked with fuel. A pantry lies to one side, stocked with several boxes of empty glass bottles, and some food for Clement. Workshop: My Lymne's workshop is long since abandoned to spiders, dust, and time. His old workbook lies, burnt, in the fireplace. Several pieces of his equipment are smashed as if in a rage. Stairwell: A sweeping staircase ascends to the second floor, and though the rest of the house is dimly lit due to the curtains, the stairs are well-lit as a skyglass dome allows natural light to flood into the home.
Second Floor Landing: The landing features several peculiar paintings affixed to the wall, in all the shades of the rainbow. Some have faded in places due to the sunlight, and one painting has a large, jagged hole that looks as if it has been punched, years ago. Bedrooms: There are three bedrooms leading off from the landing, only one of which looks as if it has been used in the last season. The others are dusty and fairly ordinary. Privy: A tiled room with a large square bath is fairly coated in grime, and only the sink looks like it has been used. A large tureen of water sits, empty, inside the dry bathtub.
Clement
Name: Clement Race: Human Date of Birth: Spring 492 AV Place of Birth: Lhavit Title/Occupation: Cook Skills: Cooking: 55xp | Seduction: 43xp | Unarmed combat: 25xp | Weapon: Kitchen knife: 25xp | Spiritism: 20xp Gnosis: N/a Appearance: Clement is fairly tall with a mop of tightly curled blonde hair atop his head. He often wears a greying apron, and he often wears shades of white. The man has slate eyes, a smattering of freckles, and once upon a time, his nose has been broken, which gives his face a fractured appearance. Personality/History: Clement was born to an ex chef mother and a hunter father. Childhood took a turn for the worse when he and his brother got into a dangerous situation… and only Clement came out alive. He has never spoken of the incident, though he'll hold the memory of his brother's corpse floating out to sea forever. Ever since that time, his parents cut him off from their affection. Although they never once directly said so, Clement knew that they thought he was guilty.
He moved out as soon as he could, and fell in love with a strange woman named Laure. The two were besotted with each other. When Laure died in childbirth and their child was a stillborn, Laure stayed back as a ghost, hoping one day to have a child again.
This tumultuous time wore Clement down. With the grief over losing his wife and child, and the disorientation of the remaining, ghostly presence of Laure, he began to lose his grip on reality. As such, it was easy for Laure to convince her husband to find a new girlfriend, and to use such a woman, essentially, as a breeding mare for her to possess during the birth of their eventual child. Then and only then will Laure leave this mortal world, satisfied in the knowledge that she has finally given birth and provided her husband with an heir. In the meanwhile, Clement sells cooked meats to Lhavitians from a cart he bought as a way to make a bit of kina to sustain himself.
Clement is prone to rapid changes of mood, veering from mirth to black anger at the flip of a coin. He is doggedly devoted to his dead wife, and will do whatever she says. As he has been spending so much time with a ghost, his view of normal people has been skewed, to such an extent that occasionally he can slip into a delusion that the world isn't real, and ironically has to be persuaded to sanity by his ghostly wife. In more lucid moments, he treats life as a game. He is charming when he wants to be, and fairly good at seduction, though once you get to know him, it becomes obvious that the finer arts of meaningful conversation passed him by.
Laure Lymne
Name: Laure Lymne Race: Ghost (human) Date of Birth: Autumn 491 AV Date of Death: Summer 516 AV (aged 25) Place of Birth: Lhavit Title/Occupation: Haunt Skills: Possession: 40xp | Soulmist Projection: 35xp | Materialisation: 19xp | Intimidation: 17xp | Stealth: 15xp Gnosis: N/a Appearance: In life, Laure was a rather plain, brown-haired woman with close-set eyes. In death, she chooses to portray herself at her most beautiful, which was the fifth night into her marriage to Clement, where she wore a purple velvet gown to a fancy dinner and had the most blissful night of her life. Yet, in ghostly form, she is pale and flickering. Most of the colour seems to have leached from her form. Her appearance wavers and her long brown hair waves about her, as if she's underwater. If she's looking to intimidate someone, she materialises as she did when she died, her lower half drenched in her and her own newborn's blood, her cheeks blanched pale, and her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Personality/History: Laure was the only child of Suzann & Jeremy Lymne, however from the get-go, she knew she was different. For a start, her parents were already old when she was young. Her parents were nothing like what her friends' parents were like. As a child, she tended to rebel against the soft and kindly nature of her mother, and her father didn't really know how to handle her wild side. Her childhood consisted of listening to taunts from her so-called friends - that she was adopted, that she was a castaway, that she wasn't really loved. Every time she dared to ask if she was truly adopted as everyone said she was, her parents either brushed the question aside or placated her with half-truths and bribery. Over time, she gave up asking, but the questions remained, burrowed deep inside.
Her father died of old age when she was about fifteen, and she was cursed with the task of caring for her ailing mother as their luxurious house seemed to crumble around them. As Suzann's mind began to falter, she spent every waking moment asking, "Do I have any grandchildren yet?" Without any kina to sustain them and wanting to have any excuse to be away from her stinking, stupid mother, Laure had a stint as a barmaid, and this was when she met Clement. They fell in love almost immediately, and Laure invited him to live with her and her ill mother. Suzann, whose mind was failing, died peacefully whilst asleep in her chair. Lovebirds Clement and Laure, so obsessed over each other, didn't notice the old woman had died until a few days after.
With both her parents dead, Laure smashed through the house, looking for some proof of her adoption, desperate for answers, yet she found nothing for all her trouble. After the funeral, Laure was delighted to have inherited all her parents' savings. With it, she and Clement hoped to live a long and happy life. Yet bad luck followed her. During childbirth, she and their unborn son developed complications, and she died in agony. She remained as a ghost intent on delivering a child into the world; to satisfy herself, her dead mother, and to give her lover the heir they both so desperately wanted.
Laure is spiteful, jealous of the 'necessary' lovers Clement acquires, and yet ferociously besotted with her man. She loves frightening and intimidating the poor souls that are unlucky enough to fall into her and Clement's clutches. Her possessions are insidious affairs, and her morals have long since faded, just like her soul. She is hell-bent on the task she has set herself, yet in doing so has put blinkers on and cannot see the damage she is causing to Clement's state of mind.

Autumn- Gweneveh is approved. I might adjust some small things (namely thinking of adding a few more skills and languages honestly) but otherwise she's fine, and I'll try to find the time to get her a picture and add her to the Red Lantern location this weekend.
Ennisa- Betali is approved. Similarly to what I told Autumn, I may add in a few skills to round things out a little bit, but she's good to go and I'll also get her added to the Silk Palace over the weekend. As for the location, I've PMed you with a few questions about it before I approve it and the NPCs.
Name: Mac Gemurk Race: Human Date of Birth: Fall, 493AV Place of Birth: Lhavit Occupation: Mathematician for the Twilight Tower Skills: Mathematics (65), Tactics: Business (60), Gambling (50), Cosmetology (45), Disguise (35), Astronomy (25), Cartography (20) Language: Common Concept: Mac was supposed to be a cartographer. His father is a shipwright int he tranquil port, and his mother a barmaid. They worked hard to make sure that Mac could get an education and make something of himself, it never occurred to them that he would do it on land and not the ocean. After a near-drowning incident as a teen Mac has refused to go near the salty waves ever again. Although having been trained to become a cartographer, he took his interest in math far and is nothing short of a genius for his age, an absolute whiz with numbers. But for all his strengths in the numerical realm, Mac is largely antisocial, and has not spent much of his time focusing on other skills.
Mac is often described as 'scatter-brained' by his peers, a common assumption for his habit of not finishing his thoughts. He doesn't enjoy casual chatter, although anyone can pick up a conversation with him if they manage to propose a problem to him that he feels the need to solve. He is a friendly fellow, despite his slightly odd behaviors, and although he doesn't enjoy the company of people many of his peers would consider themselves his friends. He works diligently for the Twilight Tower, balancing their books in order to fund his enjoyment of the night. Mac is a known customer at the Obsidian club, although he is often unrecognized by his peers there. A long time fan of costumes and feminity Mac enjoys wearing costumes and cosmetics before heading to the nearest card game, where he never loses, a habit that has gotten him kicked out of most games before he could collect his wins.
He stands at an average height of 175 cm, with lithe limbs and slight pudge to his stomach. It is clear the man has never had to lift anything near his body weight in his life, and has no intention to. He is pale with dark curly hair that falls past his ears, and although it looks unkempt, seems to be intentionally so. His face is long and often described as 'sad' although he is not a depressive personality to be around, and so can often be seen wearing a slight grin which exposes the gap between his front two teeth. His nails are long despite his gender, and he often wears color lacquers on it, which he is prone to flaunt with confidence to those who question him. He often wears plain black professional clothes to work, and bright vivid silks and cosmetics in his personal time.
I wasn't sure if this was an appropriate write-up or not. I'm totally happy to make edits or scrap completely if you don't think it works for Lhavit.
The Heilana Courage
Description: The Heilana Courage is a small sloop capable of carrying up to 30 crew and ten paying passengers. The ship has the capability of carrying up to twenty tonnes of cargo. The Heilana Courage is a marvel to look at; it is certainly a large ship, though somewhat leaner than most other sloops. The hull is battle-scarred and there is clear evidence of previous repairs. One of the masts is a well-honed specimen of a tree trunk, complete with scraps of bark here and there. The sails are a plain brown, but the ship proudly flies a small pennant of purple fabric, with the symbol of an osprey's head stitched onto a background of a sword crossed with an anchor.
The majority of the deck is kept sharp and neat. The ship's wheel stands in a prominent position. Two doors lead below deck - one door takes you to the captain's room where the ship's leading crew conduct meetings, and the second one takes you through to the cramped, mass sleeping quarters, which are hammocks suspended from various struts on the low ceiling. Once in the main sailor's space, there are a couple of trapdoors that lead down to the cargo hold on the right-hand side. On the left is a single trapdoor constantly propped open, with a couple of small wooden steps leading down to the galley and a narrow table bolted to the floor for meals.
The ship is kitted with a couple of large throwing harpoons for defence, as well as a small ship's boat used to get from the shore back to the ship if it has not been able to dock somewhere.
Products/Services: The Heilana Courage is a trading vessel and offers a small level of transportation from Lhavit to other locations in the Outer Ocean. Transportation is rarely offered however, and comes at a steep price. Please PM your local storyteller for prices. The Heilana Courage trades in a variety of things depending on the season and what Kastene and Heilana can buy or acquire. They do not sell directly, but instead sell to other merchants and city people in Lhavit, primarily. Again, if you have any questions or queries about non-standard items traded, please contact your local storyteller.

Captain Kastene
Name: Captain Kastene Race: Human, Svefra Date of Birth: 3rd Winter 467 AV Place of Birth: The Suvan Sea, near Kenash Title/Occupation: Co-captain of the Heilana Courage Skills: Sailing: 70xp, Persuasion: 50xp, Leadership: 50xp, Weapon: Shortsword: 48xp, Unarmed Combat: 40xp, Swimming: 37xp Personality/History: Captain Kastene is a large, intimidating man with greying hair and a tousled grey beard. His face is lined from a lifetime on the sea, and his voice is low and gravelly. He looks older than he is, but the vibrancy of his mannerisms betrays his true age. He is large - tall and brawny also. He wears a long weather-stained leather coat to protect himself from the elements, and sturdy boots upon his feet.
Kastene grew up as a merchant's son near Kenash, in a tiny Svefra pod. His father's business existed in a volatile, constantly shifting market and as Kastene turned 9 his father's small trade finished for good after an incident which caused Kastene's father the loss of one eye, and the complete loss of his self-esteem. A short time later their pod joined another. Kastene began to fall in love with the seaman's life more deeply than before, and when his father moved onto shore after 10 years, Kastene stayed with the pod and eventually founded his own ship with Heilana.
He set himself up as a trader, and did well for himself. Unfortunately, he also managed to get on the wrong side of a fellow Svefra after an evening drinking gone wrong. Eventually, he was forced down past Riverfall, and out to the fringes. On the way, he fell in love with a lone Kelvic osprey, who became his bondmate and his reason for being. She dreamt of a glittering city in the far reaches of Mizahar - Lhavit. Together, they relocated their business to the Outer Ocean. They winter in Lhavit to avoid the harsh climates up north, and to re-stock the ship.
Heilana
Name: Heilana Race: Kelvic osprey Date of Birth: 3rd Winter 504 AV Place of Birth: The Suvan Sea Title/Occupation: Co-captain of the Heilana Courage, bondmate of Kastene Skills: Navigation: 75xp, Weapon: Crossbow: 55xp, Sailing: 50xp, Unarmed Combat: 50xp, Fishing: 45xp, Geology: 30xp Personality/History: Heilana is a fair-haired woman with clear skin and twinkling eyes that betray a hint of savageness. In the right light, her brown eyes flash with a deep yellow. In the summer when her face has caught the sun, a darker band of tan scans across the top of her nose, around her eyes, and the lower part of her forehead. As a Kelvic, she is typical of an osprey, with a light belly, and dark brown wings.
Heilana was born on a small boat on the Suvan Sea, but she does not know the identity of her parents. She remembers a flash of a bright smile, and the shadow of an angular face, and that is all. Her early years were spent flying, swimming and catching fish as she explored the Suvan. After a time, she found a Svefra ship and they took her in. A young lad grew too fond of her, but as she grew up alone her defences were high, and she rejected him and his advances. Hurt and embarrassed, the young man lashed out and cut a large gash in her shoulder. After she healed, she left and met Kastene.
She fell in love, and bonded with him despite her reservations. Her love of knowledge and freedom led her to Lhavit, where she discovered a deep love of the study of rocks and earth. During winter, she studies in Lhavit, and the rest of the year she co-captains the ship along with her husband Kastene.
Roberta
Name: Roberta Race: Human, Svefra Date of Birth: 50th Autumn 485 AV Place of Birth: The Outer Ocean, near Lhavit Title/Occupation: Lia aboard the Courage Skills: Unarmed combat: 60xp, Projection: 50xp, Sailing: 45xp, Leadership: 30xp, Negotiation: 30xp Personality/History: Roberta is a dark-haired Svefra woman with a vibrant, charismatic personality. She is tall and lithe, and has a bounce to her step.
She was brought up near to Lhavit and spent a lot of time there in her youth. Initially, she rejected the Svefra lifestyle and sought to join the Shinya. Her youth revolved around constant training with her older brother, and her Lhavitian boyfriend who taught her projection. When her boyfriend was promoted, he began to ignore Roberta. For a while, she pleaded with him and begged for attention, but after a while she realised the reason for his abandonment - he'd found another lover. One who "was a better class of person", she found out after a particularly bitter argument.
Feeling angry and bewildered, Roberta dropped her studies, left her family, and went for change. She met Kastene and Heilana, and on a whim decided to join them on their ship. The peace and quiet of the ocean resonated with her away from the hassle of her family, and the broken love she left behind in Lhavit. And the Heilana Courage, being an unconventional Svefra ship, accepted her as their Lia, which is a role she never expected but deeply enjoys.

Personality/History: Kyra was born and raised in Lhavit. Her mother was a visiting Myrian woman who became pregnant by a Shinya she became enamored with. She left soon after Kyra was born, and so Kyra was mainly raised by her father Kellen.
Kellen raised her to follow the path he had taken, and Kyra always excelled in the more physical talents required of a Shinya. She has always taken combat seriously, but never herself, and like the city itself being split by day and night, considers the juxtaposition of serious and fun to be an important balance for any fighter.
Kyra joined the Shinya at a young age, and rose through the ranks equally young to eventually rise to become a Rider. She spent the majority of her time serving by working the night shifts, and besides a few rather interesting nights work she does not discuss, had a rather quiet career.
Eventually she felt her age was interfering with her duties, and so retired at the ripe age of 69. Since then she has kept to her training, and is known to be fit and strong even in her advanced age. She retired to a small but pleasant residence in the Okomo Estates, with her own in home training room for practicing combat and working ones body. However any who met her after she retired would question her supposed reason for retiring, for if she is as skilled a fighter as she is now she must have been a terror to any wrongdoer in her prime.
She keeps active in her community, and at times take on work training youngsters in the ways of combat and the Shinya. She is however picky with her students, and will not take on just anyone with the funds to hire her, seeing as she does not need the money she charges. Rather she accepts those she sees has promise, or who she thinks might go the wrong way without some intervention.
Lani - I believe we discussed this over PM, but approved!
Ennisa - Approved on the condition that the captain be made a Svefra, since otherwise trading/transporting people by a non-Svefra would probably catch their attention and cause issues. You don't need to make it a whole pod (unless you want to).
Okay! Edited the backstories slightly to reflect the changes. Roberta is now the Lia, with the captain also changed to a Svefra. His wifey is still a Kelvic. I hope that's a bit better? Happy to change if not.
Hi Lumi! At it again, I'm afraid! Here are two write-ups for NPCs. Always perfectly happy to edit if there's anything you'd like changing. The names being similar is an accident. :|
ALETH Name: Aleth (model’s name is Nariman Malanov) Race: Kelvic donkey Date of Birth: 3rd Spring 510 AV Place of Birth: Sunberth Title/Occupation: Cleaner at the Shooting Star Inn Skills: Unarmed Combat: 55xp, Cleaning: 50xp, Weapon: Club: 45xp, Organisation: 37xp, Torture: 30xp, Stealth: 26xp Gnosis: n/a Appearance: Aleth is a lanky, gangly kind of man. There are several signs of malnourishment on his body; a few minor scabs from persistent rashes, and one arm is weak at the elbow. His hair is blondish-grey, and his eyes are a deep warm brown. When in his Kelvic form of a donkey, he has large ears that are typical of his race, and his gait is a little slowed due to the poor joint issue. Personality/History: Aleth was born in Sunberth. His mother soon learned he was Kelvic, and promptly sold the poor lad to a local lout named Ronen who had recently come into some mizas. He grew up a slave, but his Sunberthian background gave him a hidden strength, even amongst the hardships of slavery. His master was not kind, but he was fairly clever. His cleverness, however, did not extend to mizas. Mostly, he fought and won, living life through bullying to get his way. Aleth was dragged along in his master’s wake. Ronen made him his right-hand man. Aleth was forced to hurt others he never intended to, otherwise he would be beaten. Eventually, Ronen ran afoul of a bigger lout than he, and he scraped enough mizas together to leave Sunberth. Through a series of wild, skin-of-the-teeth adventures, he heard of a woman in Lhavit, an ex lover, who had come into some wealth. With the tantalising thought of gleaming mizas, Ronen took the long and arduous journey north, with Aleth in tow. However, Ronen was getting older, and more stupid. He trusted Aleth, his trusty Kelvic, and over the long boat ride had got used to forgetting about him as there was no need to keep an eye on him when in the middle of the ocean. Yet as soon as Aleth got a moment alone, he took his chance, and finally escaped from Ronen. He now lives in Lhavit, tenuously making a living as a cleaner. He is a quiet man, twitchy, and tries to keep himself to himself. However, once befriended, he is happy to talk about some aspects of his life, including even some of the dark deeds he was asked to do when he was a slave. He’ll never be happy to share this information, though.
(history is a bit long, so I'm happy to shave it down if you'd prefer )
SETH Name: Seth Race: Human Date of Birth: Autumn 29th 499 AV Place of Birth: Lhavit Title/Occupation: Shinya Rider Skills: Weapon: Composite Shortbow: 65xp, Riding (Okomo): 50xp, Unarmed Combat: 48xp, Weapon: Shortsword: 45xp, Projection: 40xp Meditation: 35xp Climbing: 35xp Endurance: 26xp Gnosis: n/a Appearance: Seth has a head of tightly curled russet hair. He is fairly tall, and well-built, but he would definitely not be classed as a muscle-machine. His dark blue eyes are lit with a certain brightness, and he is always ready with a smile. He dresses in the uniform of his rank: a dark blue robe with silver trim, and a black sash with three white stripes and dark-coloured beads. When he’s off-duty, he wears hard-wearing, outdoorsy clothing, and favours green. Personality/History: Seth is a Lhavitian born and bred. He wasn’t always a follower of the rules; in his youth, he often got in trouble with the Shinya for inconsequential mishaps and tricks, egged on by his sister. Over time, he grew up and discovered he had an honourable streak a mile high. He outgrew silly tricks, and fostered a deep love and respect for the traditions of his birth city. He trained hard for several years, and after joining the Shinya ranks he discovered he had a natural inclination for riding. He soon achieved the rank of Rider, and developed his speciality: archery from the back of an okomo. He is at home on the slopes of Lhavit, and he is fair and level-headed. His only fault would be his innocent, naive look on the world, for he wants to believe the old adage: innocent until proven guilty.

Personality/History: Aja's father, now deceased at some point after Aja left home, was the Pathfinder who initiated her. He claimed that their families Pathfinding Djedline could be traced back to before the Valterrian when they were members of the Iraso guild (albeit lesser ones who initially survived more by chance and location when the great calamity occurred than any great skill). Whether this is true or not is hard to debate since there are no remaining written records to refer to, leaving only the oral history passed from one generation to the next.
He initiated all of his children at a young age, six in total of which Aja was the youngest, from a total of three mothers.
Aja was the only child of his third and last wife, who was an Inartan. When Aja was old enough to travel her father took both her and her mother from Wind Reach and to their family home where Aja spent most of her childhood. Once Aja was weaned her mother was allowed to have little to do with her upbringing, though she did make sure to teach Aja a bit of her heritage and how to use a bow passably.
Her eldest siblings were expected to focus on the families purpose- Pathfinding: learning their history to pass it on, growing their ability as a Pathfinder, and continuing their Djedline within and beyond Kalea. Aja being the youngest was mostly ignored by her father, treating her more as a spare which left her freer to explore her other interests than her elder siblings.
From a young age Aja found she enjoyed spending most of her time in the kennels and stables of Iraso animals, taking care of them and helping to train and handle them. She ended up spending more time with them and feeling more connected to the horses and dogs and goats than she did the human members of her family, being who she felt she could understand and care for better than she could people.
As she seemed proficient in it she was mainly delegated to handling the animals and keeping them in check when out on hunts and eventually on initiating new animals to their menagerie when needed. Over time her skills developed and she grew her own crew of Iraso animal companions. Around the time she was coming of age and considering leaving the household she was approached and marked by Caiyha, who perhaps for her past actions or seeing promise made her a mountain witch.
Once that occurred no one could argue with her path, and so Aja left home to explore the wilds of the Kalean mountains and to work to bring balance to its ecosystems. She has not returned home since and has seldom spent time inside of any human cities or places for more than short visits.
She learned morphing from another mountain witch who she spent some time in proximity of, giving her the ability to better pair with the animals and wilds, learning to turn into most of the animals of the appropriate size she could mimic for her skill level such as cougars and boar.
Over the years she traveled to many places, spending time in one spot or another until it was in balance and then traveling on to another. It was on one such exodus, having brought balance to an area and searching for another place, that she passed near Lhavit.
By then her Iraso companions had grown large in number and type. There were the more common ones her family had held and trained, a few Kalean Spicecoats who were hounds well suited to the mountains, a mountain pony for riding and travel, and a pair of hawks for use in hunting and exploration. There was also a family of mountain goats who had become her Iraso companions, being the most numerous single animal type of her companions in part as they were so well adapted to the mountains and could go places on foot the other land animals could not. Lastly was a large boar who had stubbornly followed along after meeting Aja and had been joined into the growing Iraso family.
Due to her upbringing and life since leaving home Aja is not overly comfortable around people, doing better with animals. In larger groups she tends to speak in short terse statements, avoiding eye contact and focusing on her Iraso companions of which a few seem to be with her at all times. In smaller settings she does better, particularly one or one or perhaps two, conversing more easily.
She laughs easily, and does not take much of anything to seriously that is not serious. That is unless it harms her, her friends, or the balance of the world around her which she sees as her charge. In that case she will quickly act to address the problem by whatever means she deems necessary. When riled she is confidence personified, not backing down and not letting anyone get away with something they should not.
