"Move."
Davarin ignored the rude shove of the guard behind him. There was little actual force behind it, though for his kind that meant it rather hurt, but the building in front of him was... Impressive. He moved before another 'request' to move along already came his way. He'd been thoroughly frisked, so the two guards weren't treating him like much more than a nuisance, but he knew fully well that he risked a beating just for being himself here.
He'd been trained to expect fear and revulsion. He hadn't expected it to be so blatant. The Svefran had been... Distant but amiable with him, especially once he made a few comical errors trying to speak their language, patched up their wounded after a few grog brawls, and knocked out the cabin boy in another, but these people were either mortally terrified or visibly enraged by his presence. Smiling had not helped.
It crossed his mind that maybe the guards were for his protection as much as theirs.
The sound of a boot being readied for a remonstrative prod disabused him of that notion. Finally he reached the bottom of the steps and found himself reluctant to proceed further, not in part because he'd gotten the impression that this was the legal nerve center of the entire place and thus probably had a nice cozy cell with his name on it somewhere behind the imposing doors, but also cause it was damn pretty out here to look at.
With a resigned sigh he began trudging up the steps, one of his escorts moving ahead to open the door. He doubted that had been a gesture of consideration for his frail frame versus the heavy door, but he appreciated it regardless and thanked the Shinya as he entered. His eyes adjusted with the usual quickness to dark environments, and he whistled through his fangs despite himself. Lhavitian architecture was a vast improvement over what he was used to.
A madly suicidal part of him thought to ask the guard why they called an eight storied tower endless, but his sense of self preservation prevailed, and he waited calmly for direction from his chaperones.
