When the giant mentioned that Alenias had been trying to steal she turned a confused look at him, "I wasn't trying to steal, Treanas said it's bad to steal, so I don't steal," there was only sincerity, and a bit of pleading, in her words, because it was true. Stealing was when you took something that was someone elses, but no one had been holding the shiny thing, so it wasn't stealing.
She then turned her dark eyes back to the short man as he ruffled her hair, causing her to shake her head, and then spoke. The mention of her having not enough meat on her bones brought to mind the image of the giant putting her in a cage and feeding her to get bigger, like the animals sold in the market. This set her shivering again, and pushed from her mind the thought of answering his question about Treanas. It was a silly question anyways. Treanas wasn't a sibling, or a friend, or anything like that, he was just Treanas.
When the giant asked his question she stared up at him for a few moments before quietly answering, "B... Because you're really really big, and were taking me away..."
