THE PRIZES:
- Alisters Everburning Tinder Box: While little is known about the creator of this tinderbox, its utility is immediately apparent to anyone who is fortunate enough to come across one. Inside of this faded wooden box engraved with its namesake is a tinder rope along with a piece of flint and bar of steel. Of course what is unusual about these items is they will naturally replenish over the course of a day after you use them. It also takes barely striking the flint and steel together to get the tinder to light, and regardless of weather condition, the tinder will stay lit until consumed. The tinder rope will regenerate any pieces broken off of it to start a fire, while the flint and steel will look as if they have never been used before. Once closed after used, this takes a full twenty four hour period to replenish. Once such a time has passed it will be able to be opened and used once more.
- Bottomless Miza Purse of Exchange: Inscribed across the inner lining across the top of this purse are the words. “For the well traveled, long may your journeys be” in gold stitch. It appears to be made of a soft, brown felt with a gold stitch drawstring that is used to keep the purse closed when not in use. This purse is unusual for two reasons. One is that it can store an unlimited amount of mizas or other coinage depending on your region. The second is that it can automatically convert their coins to whatever is demanded at that particular moment. Note that this does not fabricate coins out of thin air so if they do not have enough mizas to make the exchange the pouch will do nothing so no trading copper rimmed mizas for kina.
- Martial hand wraps: Thought to be created during the heyday of the Suvan Empire, these hand wraps are very useful for unarmed specialists and flux users alike. Appearing as two strips of cloth that are equal length, when wrapped around ones hands and wrists the magical effect of these hand wraps become apparent. Better than any bracer, these wraps are capable of deflecting direct blows from all sorts of sharp edged melee weapons without cutting the user so long as the blow is blocked by the wraps. However anyone using these should remain cautious as blunt damage will get through however it will be down graded in severity one level based on the strike. So a severe blow would be downgraded to moderate and a moderate down to minor, ect.
-Sharkskin cloth: This cloth is about ten square inches across, with shark skin on one side and gray felt on the other. When used to sand wood it does so in half the time of normal methods without losing any durability so long as it is stored in salt water after each use. Miraculously when removed from the salt water it is completely dry while the sharkskin remains as supple as ever. Additionally, it confers a + 10 bonus skill to any carpentry project this is used with.
- Sentient flame: In an otherwise unremarkable glass jar lurks a most unusual creature that goes by the name Oslo. The result of an alchemy experiment gone awry, Oslo initially appears as a tiny ember bouncing around its glass prison. Of course he will try to speak with whoever finds him, but it will be perceived as a squeaking noise too high pitched to discern for ordinary ears unless one has exceptional hearing as a kelvic, or they have been gifted with Audius. Oslo for the most part will remark about how hungry he is, and how lonely it has been in the jar, desiring to be freed. Oslo eats flammable material and once fed he will grow larger which will also make it easier to talk to him. One should be careful about handling Oslo however as he burns just as easily as any other flame, and is always hungry. If one gets to know him they will find him to be very passionate and knowledgeable about Ivak. In fact, once they get him going about the topic its hard to shut him up other than closing the jar which would make him a tiny ember once more.
- Deep sea candied fruit: Stored within a small clay container is an assortment of small candied fruit. These candies have a salty sweet flavor that depends on the fruit, and will take about fifteen chimes to dissolve in a person’s mouth if they manage to resist biting into it. So long as they keep it in their mouth though they will be able to breath under water for the duration it takes for the candy to dissolve in their mouth. There are ten candies in the container to start and after a tenday passes the candies will replenish.
- The listener: Used once long ago with a mage that was too busy to write anything down, this quill comes in a ebony wooden box lined with red velvet. The quill itself is quite an artistic piece, it appears to be made with a gold frame that encases a rainbow feather. Inscribed across the body is the name “Alex”. When one says the phrase “Alex listen to me” the quill will immediately animate and proceed to write verbatim whatever its owner says. It does not require any ink, but ample parchment should be laid out if one does not want the quill to start writing on every other available surface. Another unique property of this quill is that the color of ink it uses depends on the orators mood, and temperament with a vibrant range of colors and textures available.
- Sweet Refrain: Also known as the ‘Singing blade’ or the ‘Bard’s sting’ this weapon is iconic for its silver handle which features several holes that give it a flute like appearance with an abnormally long handle. When used by a regular user, this blade functions like a sub par weapon however in the hands of a bard this blade truly shines. This is because it can store sounds that can then be released by saying ‘Sing for me’. All one has to do to store a sound is to use the mouth piece at the end of the hilt. Once stored the bard can then aim the sound by covering the holes on the hilt and then swinging the blade in the direction they wish the sound to travel. However, this ability can still be used even if the bard is not currently wielding the sword but the sound will be expressed through the holes in the hilt instead which will cover the immediate area around the blade’s hilt. (OOC: This weapon is capable of storing one Audius ability at a time. If you are not holding the blade when you activate it, the effect of that Audius ability is halved and affects the area immediately around the blade within five feet.)
- Silas Wordsmith: Since time immemorial mages have been secretive about what they wrote down, some more than others. Created ages ago by a mage named Silas who kept an extensive series of journals that he then animated and imprinted with his personality. Because he lived to be a very old mage before he eventually died centuries ago, he managed to cover quite a few topics from personal magic to world magic. These tomes all share Silas' personality, a man who was well known for being intelligent and industrious as well as rather cruel with those he considered to be his subordinates.
(OOC: These journals are careful about who they share their information with, and require that you develop a relationship with them and convince them in thread to divulge their secrets. The subjects they cover can be found in the Personal magic list, and the world magic lists. Because only one journal can exist for each subject, the highest total word count gets first pick, followed by the second-highest and so forth.)
