It had taken a while to get a job like this, and while entertaining regulars at the Scarlet Sanctum wasn’t exactly her dream job, it was safer than being out in the streets. Here Ruby had protection if the clients got too rough, and plus a place to entertain in so they weren’t exposed to the elements. Of course she took a cut, but that didn’t bother Farren too much. It was safer after all.
Business was just starting to pick up as dusk came upon them. Farren was dressed in borrowed garb in order to stay on theme with the other associates. It wasn’t much different from the red dress she usually wore, if she squinted. Truth was, she was trying not to think about how nice it looked. It was made of red lace, and designed to be sheer in all the right places as far as their clients were concerned. For the first bell or so wearing it, Farren could hardly get herself to move for fear of damaging the dress in some way or getting something spilled upon it. That would be just her luck, owing Ruby for a dress she couldn’t possibly afford.
Then she saw some of the looks the other girls were giving her, and the men as well, and finally she got out onto the floor to brave whatever come. Since she didn’t have some of the talents the others had, her job was to service the customers in other ways. At the beginning of the night that meant engaging them in conversation, especially if said patron was sitting alone. Ruby wanted her to keep them there for as long as possible because that usually meant they would be spending more money, and perhaps eventually buy a private audience. Farren thought she could handle that well enough. She’d had a little experience of that on the streets. One had to be quick with their tongue to survive as an independent contractor, but it was so much more than that. So much more beyond her ability that it was small wonder why she hadn’t faired well on her own.
Lingering near the back Farren spotted her next client or rather, he spotted her. Sitting over at the bar he was looking her up and down lasciviously and crooked a finger at her when their eyes met. There was a blush and a hint of a smile that was not entirely voluntary on her end as she inclined her head slightly and made her way over to the man at the bar. He had long brown hair that parted in the middle, a wide forehead, a pair of close set brown eyes, and a long flat nose that lead to cracked lips that were currently smiling at her. He had a beard to match the hair on his head that was reasonably full, giving him an almost wild man appearance that Farren couldn’t deny she sort of liked. That was the thing about seduction. About her trade. Leaving herself open to all sorts of interest because if she couldn’t make herself believe there was some attraction there, how could the client? Farren’s smile teased out a little wider.
“The night is just getting started. What can I do ya for?” She asked, a slight bit of amusement injected into her tone as she made her eyes quickly dart over his body as she sucked in her lower lip.
