55 Spring 523
Heading out from the deep smell of the city, Moritz found himself on some rockier ground. Not quite the same as Lhavit, Moritz still felt more at home in this place with uneven rocky soil and land compared to the smelly city center with its massive crush of people. From what he had been told he was near the Dust Bed Ridge, though not were the actual ancient cemeteries and such were. Having been there or in the area before, and having been given simple directions, he did not have too much trouble finding the spot. Particularly since the rest of the land near where he was going was barren or wrecked buildings barely standing.
Where Moritz ended up going he saw quite a few people coming and going, people bringing stuff that would be used for building he assumed... Finally he arrived at what seemed to be the edge of his land, his acre which was marked off with some fencing that seemed new seemed to have been mostly cleared. Moritz recalled Goldfinger mentioning an old building being there before... Some kind of... Summer home? He was also unsure what that was just as much as Goldfinger. Did it mean the person only used it in the summer? Or they had multiple? Or was it some kind of design style? He was unsure if it was any of those, but decided it did not matter if it did not affect his house to come. Besides a few stone pillars, nothing else seemed to be standing he could see on the surface. When he got close to the center of the people moving Moritz saw the man who seemed to be in charge, and he assumed he was the builder.
"Ah, hello. I'm Moritz. And you are..."
Not looking up right away, the man kept talking to other people for another chime, before finally turning to meet the Kelvics eye. "Ah, your the one eh? Names John. All we need is your final okay before we get going. We've cleared the land around here where we are building, marked off the the edges of your property... Left that bit over there, as it seems usable, but tore down the rest as it wasn't worth keeping. Follow me."
Without looking back the man charged off, moving along and pointing out spots marked off in the dirt and with small wooden posts marking the edges of rooms roughly. As far as he could see there was no real blueprint, just masses of material and people and the main builder in charge eyeballing things so to speak. "Right, so I heard what you wanted, and how much you can spend. So walk with me, and I'll point out what I'm seeing. Just keep up, and it'll go well, and we can get building already."
With another nod Mortiz followed after, listening and watching as he painted a picture with words and sticks much clearer than a drawing would likely be to the Kelvic who had never built anything.
