Ariel was sitting on her kitten's saddle. She hadn't yet named it, and was still struggling between a few. The reigns were resting in her hands, and the pair were walking through several long blades of grass a few feet away from the emerald clan's lands. The sun was high in the sky, and there was only a light breeze coursing through the grass causing them to sway in a way that reminded Ariel of the sea. The air was crisp, and the scent of sweat and horses lingered in the air, carried to Ariel's nostrils by the breeze.
Ariel rode along, in a fairly straight line. She was still getting used to riding, after a life on her feet, or in people's pockets, or sitting on their shoulders. The experience was rather foreign to her, although, not something she necessarily saw as a bad one.
After awhile, Ariel pulled up hard on the reigns. "Whoa there!" she called to her furry friend, forcing it to stop as she dismounted by swinging her leg over the side of the saddle and hopping to the ground.
Ariel had forced her kitten to come to a rest in front of a large rock-like structure. The structure towered over her, at about two feet tall, and another three wide. The structure was a sand-like color, and closely resembled the one thing that gave the tiny pycon life: clay.
Upon closer inspection, (walking up to the mass and licking it), Ariel discovered that it was indeed what she had thought it was, a clay deposit. Ariel jumped up and down with joy, spreading her tiny arms out and practically hugging the massive clay deposit. She wasn't sure she had ever seen so much clay in one place in her entire five years of life.
Overwhelmed with both joy and excitement, Ariel's eyes started to sparkle as she ripped off tiny bits of clay with her hands, and began to shove the clay in her mouth, chewing loudly and quickly, before grabbing more and repeating the process. Chew, chew chew! More more more! Shove shove shove! Eat eat eat!
Ariel was so overjoyed, and busy stuffing her face with clay that she hadn't even noticed the shadows circling overhead. She hadn't heard the chirping of various Endrykas birds, or the soft flapping of their wings. She hadn't noticed anything other than when her mouth had run out of clay to chomp on.
By the time she did, however, it was too late, the birds were diving at her, and the clay, and all the poor pycon could do was scream at the birds to get away, and cover her head with her hands. Her kitten, which should be having a field day with all the birds around, was conveniently, no where in sight, lovely, she thought, as she yelled at the birds who for whatever reason, were eating small nibbles of her clay, or breaking off pieces and flying away with them.
Ariel straightened herself up when the tiny brown birds with black eyes and black beaks started to leave her alone and go after the clay deposit. She waved her tiny fists at them, and wished she were bigger so that they would all go away. "Hey, stop eating all my clay!" Ariel shouted, as she picked up a tiny pebble and threw it at one of the birds, it missed by a few inches, and quickly came crashing back down to earth, and all Ariel could do was stare in horror up at the birds, how could they take all that wonderful clay away from her?
OOCYes, this is yet another thread in which Ariel is both psycho, self-absorbed, and completely insane =)
