Race: Ethaefal
Birthday & Age : Forgotten
Gender: Male

Physical Description

ImageBeneath Syna:

Tall, regal, and radiant, Zvi holds himself with the grace of the divine. His eyes are a gilded blue, holding in them a haunting acceptance of his current state. There is sadness there, though it is less from his fall and more from the events since that time. They are wide, innocent eyes, eyes that hold all the truth of the world, the sadness of knowing beauty and losing it, and the hope of finding it again. They are framed with thick, dark lashes, and set beneath a fine, noble brow.

His face is boyish, but unmistakeably ethereal. There is a delicacy to his features, a smooth purity that echoes of the realm of Syna. Even when serious, his countenance holds a pure warmth and patience. His beauty is not as morose as those of Leth's realms, though there is saddened element for all his soft smiles. He does his best to keep this at bay, however. He wishes to always emulate Syna, with her beauty and warmness, even in the hardest of times. From his temples protrude horns, their color, like his hair, varying from season to season, though always touched with Syna's kisses of gold.

Zvi's body is a strong one, like a work of art, his skin as smooth as polished marble. His limbs are sleek and clean, free of scars and blemish, save for one, one that marks his body unmistakeably. A long, diagonal line runs across his belly, from his ribs to his hips, just above his navel. This he gained during his struggle with slavers, and it has served as a reminder ever since.

ImageBeneath Leth:

Like the moon to the sun, so is Anstice to Zvi. When Leth rises and takes hold of the sky, Zvi's skin darkens, and his body grows harder, more powerful. He is shorter during the night, but burlier, sturdy. His eyes are dark, rich, but sparkling with intelligence. His gaze is dark and intense, the sort that pierces souls with single glances. They hold, too, an element of his dry sense of humor, a glint that shows his mapping out steps before speaking. Anstice's eyes are taken from his mother, and mark him as a proud, half Lhavitian.

Anstice's features are pleasant and strong. His full lips are generally drawn into a smirk, one that flashes brilliantly white teeth. His smile is dazzling, and has been known to get him out of many sticky situations in the past.

Unlike his Ethaefal form, Anstice's human body is burly and powerfully built. It does not hold the same grace as Zvi's body. His hands are large and rough from use. It is a man's hard, sturdy body. Tough to break and strong enough to endure. He is young, and muscled, though not overly so. He has a track athlete's body as opposed to the bulky frame of a wrestler. Long and lean, but strong. He is not as tall in his human body as in his Ethaefal form, but he's hardly short.

His hair is a deep, chocolate shade of brown, and is worn in dreads. He generally ties the top back, or all of it into a ponytail to keep it out of his face. He is very proud of and fascinated by his hair in his seeming form, and can often be seen fiddling or playing with it. When nervous, and in his seeming form, he often tugs on the ends of his hair in agitation.

Character Concept

Quiet and reserved, Zvi is not one to open himself to others. He prefers solitude, to spend his time with the sun shining in his face, soaking up the rays of his goddess. He is friendly, but not overly so. He isn't one to shun those who would approach him, but he's not overly outgoing, either. He holds himself aloof, a radiant, distant being. It is clear that he does not belong here, among the earthly sort. He is distant, even in his kindness.

Clever and quick of wit, Zvi enjoys hearing and solving riddles. He enjoys a mental challenge, as it helps to keep his mind off of more depressing things and focused on lighter pursuits. He has a gift for music, and can often be heard singing quietly to himself, or playing his lyre. His Master uses his skill to entertain guests and add a pleasant atmosphere to his shop.

When Leth takes his place in the night sky, the already withdrawn Ethaefal becomes more introverted. His moods often swing from high to lows, and his quietness becomes almost overwhelming. His smiles become intensely focused, and he often appears to have lost himself to his thoughts entirely, or bitterly sad. These times are, too, marked by swings of extreme joy, and overly chattiness. These moods, however, do not dominate him, and he is still, most often, himself. He simply becomes more prone to these swings in his mood, as if his longing for Syna's light would destroy him.

Character History

Before Celestial Bliss:

ImageAnstice Nevarr was born the son of a gardener in Syliras. His parents were humble, good people, who worked for a wealthy family. His mother, a Lhavitian, tended the children of the family, and Anstice played with them as he grew up. They became like a brother and sister to him, siblings he never had. The children, Dominic and Florence, were his very best friends, and they remained thus into their teens. Anstice was pure and kind, with a smile that could disarm the harshest of hearts, and it was this that held the three of them so close. His kindness was able to settle any disputes, and to help overcome the inevitable sibling rivalry between the twins.

However, as they grew older, stronger feelings developed. Anstice and Florence developed feelings for one another, while Dominic held a secret, and unrequited love for the gardener's son. He watched his sister and Anstice with their secret meetings, becoming more and more excluded as the two drew closer to one another. Jealousy swelled and brewed within him.

One night, when the three were sixteen, Dominic caught Florence and Anstice together, kissing beneath a full moon. Dominic's heart broke, and he determined to make certain that no one else ever had Anstice. When Florence had gone to bed, and Anstice was crossing the yard to get to the gardener's cottage, Dominic rushed out to meet him. Anstice, happy to see his friend, turned to him with open arms, but when Dominic caught up with him only a few yards from the little house, he was greeted with the cold steel of a dagger in his belly.

But once was not enough. In his fury, Dominic lost count of the number of times his knife fell, content only when Anstice lay still, his blood glistening on the grass.

ImageAfter the Fall:

The tear in the fissures were healing, but there were holes, still, and it was through such a tear, in 508 AV, that a male's body fell. He streaked the sky like the gold tail of a comment, tumbling from heaven and into the seas below. Frightened and confused, he swam to shore, and there dragged himself up onto the beach, where he lay, naked, for some time, attempting to regain his strength.

He was found by an elderly couple, who had witnessed his fall. The man and woman clothed him and took him into their home to rest. He remained with them for some time, before his urge to follow Syna became too great, and he began wandering. He traveled where he could, singing for meals or places to stay, until he came, drawn by memories, to the Sylira region. It was there, outside of Ravok, that the lone Ethaefal was come upon by slavers. Alone and without knowledge of combat, he was easily overwhelmed, and injured in the process, a long, clean slash across his belly. He was fortunate enough to escape death, but not slavery.

An aging shopkeeper purchased him, awed by his beauty and by the form he took when Leth stepped into the sky. In an attempt to increase his business, as well as his own pleasure, he brought Zvi into his possession, and set the Ethaefal—every day—right by the front window of his shop, where he played his lyre and sang, a tin by his feet in which to collect coin. When he did well, he was rewarded with a walk under the sun, and when his sad songs failed to bring in sufficient money, he was locked away in the cellar for a day.
