Basic Information Race : Human Birthday : Winter 72 Age : 20 Winters Gender : Female Languages : Lhavitian = Fluent Common = Basic Nari = Poor Physical Description Standing at the diminutive height of 5 feet, Rai has a slender and willowy build. With black hair, dark almond-shaped eyes, and light olive skin, she seems much like any other Lhavitian. Callouses mark her hands, which in total, posess only nine fingers. A small stump resides where her left pinkie used to be. The young Shinya carries herself with pride and dignity, her back always rod-straight, and her steps careful and measured. To an observer, it might seem that each of her movements is carefully calculated and planned out, as if she's moving in a dance.

Personality Raiyari is extremely polite, to the point of sometimes coming across as either very friendly or very cold. Honor and duty are what she lives by. She will always bow to someone, and will always treat them with the utmost respect and politeness. But what she appears to be is not truly what she is. Over the years, she's built up a strong wall of defenses. If tested beyond what she can politely bear, Rayiri will fall back on her first wall: Rudeness. She will be sarcastic, catty, and downright mean if pushed too far. Living with her crumbling family has taught her one lesson above all else: Don't trust anyone with your feelings. She's learned to react quickly, to dodge questions as well as blows, and to never let anyone get close to her. Deep down, she's truly lonely for a friend; She yearns for understanding. But her walls don't enable her to have close friends. Rai constantly pushes people away, both on purpose, and by course of habit.

Character History Born as the second child to a Shinya mother and an Aisha father, Raiyari led a happy childhood. She played at stick fighting from her brother, watched her father paint, practically worshiped her warrior mother, and did all the things a child would be expected to do. At the age of nine, she was taken in by a Shinya sponsor, joining the other Viraya. A life of a Viraya was not a terrible one, and Raiyari enjoyed the lessons with her fellow students. However, when she turned eleven, her mother was stricken down by a sickness. Once sick, she didn't last the week. Dealing with her mother's death was extremely hard for her. Rai looked up to her mother, idealized everything that the woman had done. But what was hard for a young child, was heartbreaking for the others in her family. Her once friendly and loving brother turned hard and cold, disdaining and holding a measure of contempt for his little sister. Her father turned to alchohol to relieve the pain of his wife's death. Between the pain of losing her mother, and earning the slaps and glares of both her family members, polite little Raiyari began to foster a hatred of her own. After five years as an Acolyte, spent surviving her family, and striving to turn herself into a weapon, Rai summoned before the Shinya elite. She was given the Awakening, a test to prove her devotion, determination, and dicipline. Rai decended from the city, seeking the Starlit Cave within the Misty Peaks. After fasting and meditating in the hidden temple there, Zintila herself spoke to Rai through the reflection of the stars. The Alvina instructed Raiyari to procure the feather of a Wind Eagle of Wind Reach. It took the young human many a moon to reach the remote mountain of the Inarta. The trecherous journey up the Sanikas Valley and Sanikas road almost bested the young woman, armed only with her katana and tanto. (Flashbacking getting the feather, summary will be added once thread is completed.) Raiyari brought back the feather and ascended to the rank Shinya. Under her Hatul's unit, Raiyari patrols the city as a Protector, trying to uphold the rules of Lhavit, protecting the city of the Goddess of the Stars.
