This chat log made me laugh very long. Now I feel sympathy for him. You two (or three) have been quite intimidating, haha.

And I personally would like to see a 'Goss is a Goddess' medal. Because that can have a positive and a negative meaning, no? Think of Ivak vs. Priskil.

I wake up in the morning and I knew in my heart that we will have the medal with wings (one wing won't make me fly but I'll stop complaining) soon. But I log in and see that it's been delivered. Can you say best valentine's day ever?!

Jen, anybody who loathes you don't even deserve to stay here, least of all, have a medal. More people would submit themselves to the "Goss is a Goddess" idea (Nice idea Malia, it kind of rhymes), because you could kick spam, answer PMs, write posts, all in the same day. You are just as awesome as GP and the rest of the Blue names (Red names in chat), but you attract mature players who do not fantasize about Harry Potter, so I guess no cult following (for now... hehehe) for you. Most would say that the most hated and feared is also the most respected and loved ;)

Wow valentines making me cheesy.

Happy valentines Mizahar. *huffs at and polishes new medal* You make me feel loved.

Thanks Pao for the idea. :-* Love you babycakes.

Jili and Mao.

Where do I even begin to reply to that chat log... for once I am amazingly at a loss for words... it was at once Beautiful, and Persuasive, and Pushy. All qualities Satu holds dear in her twisted Konti Heart.

And yes, we did deserve the medal. But like I told Tarot, it wasn't for us... it was for him, in his honor! We are merely the planets orbiting his sun. We simply have no choice.

And yes, I will end with this thought... More pixels? You've got to be kidding! Like I even would have a clue... you're lucky you got the glimpse that you did. ;)

I spent drawing the last two hours drawing a big golem for Sahova together with a background of Sahova's epic library. It was nothing magical, just digital pencil, but when I lost it because my drawing program decided to say "error error error" in many different ways, I felt super bummed.

And then I said, to oblivion with drawing I'll just go write and then logged on and saw the lovely Onyx edit my Marie Belmont's picture (which was yellow with a Castlevania logo) so that it would fit better with my CS theme and then sent it right to my inbox, you don't know the happiness that poured into my lonely heart.

Thanks Onyx.

Jil loves sci-fi

“Lan and Nynaeve are two of my favorite characters, both singly and—as of Chapter 31 of A Crown of Swords—together. I love Nynaeve because she’s so unapologetic, and I discovered the Wheel of Time at a, shall we say, unapologetic time of my tweendom. But being the bitchy girl doesn’t mean you can’t fall in love, too, and, miracle of miracles, a smart, loyal, serious man can love you back. This scene is the payoff for nearly five thousand pages of separation, stoicism, and frustration; I read and re-read it until the spine cracked two thirds of the way through the book, right at “‘I will not die here,’ she muttered. ‘I will not die here!’” - Megan Messinger

My college boyfriend (now my ex, but still a good friend) introduced me to the Wheel of Time Series of Robert Jordan. I would have to say that this series was my induction to the world of paperback sci-fi. I remember buying him book 8 and 9 for Christmas, only to request to keep them "for the mean time" because I was one book ahead of him. So I read book 8 and 9 - which I bought as a gift for him - before him. Haha. Good days. I have decided to return to them, and when I found out that my favorite character, the one I could relate to (except the part about being angst-driven, okay I lie, I can be temperamental at times.) is on the front cover of the e-book. I told myself, it's time to re-read my first fantasy novel. I'm thinking about buying the e-book.

Because of this:

Which shows Lan Mandragoran and Nynaeve al'Maera. Melanie Delon, whoever you are, my gratitude goes out to you.

Past forward to my current beau, who is one of my favorite fan-fiction writers, though he despise them like Jews despise Nazis now, who introduced me to a man named Scott Westerfield, the solution to my steampunk cravings. I have previously mentioned a book named Behemoth somewhere in this scrapbook, but I'd like to let you know that the third installment to this young-adult steampunk novel will be out sometime this year.

Image

On the far left, our copy of the book. When it got released again, the prints went out with the in between images. Not that I hate seeing Prince Alek and Daryl on the covers.. but I loved the old style better.

I'd also like to point you guys to his blog: http://scottwesterfeld.com/blog/2011/02/from-draft-to-hardback/. His last few posts detailed the publishing process of his book, from writing to editing to ARCs (Advanced released copies). I don't know about you writers out there, but everytime I see how a novel goes through copy editing and proofreading and lay-outing (I worked for the school paper back in college as a lay-out artist/editor, so I could totally relate, and I wish to have a book someday which most of you could totally relate to) I am very very happy. It's also a cute post, hearing the publishing process from the author's end.

Also, on my must-buy-when-has-money list: Drawing & Painting Fantasy Landscapes & Cityscapres by ROb Alexander.

Before I leave, may I entice you to read the following arguments:

http://bordersblog.com/scifi/2011/01/04/uncategorized/ten-reasons-why-zombies-are-better-than-unicorns/

No matter how much I love zombies - still waiting for World War Z movie - and is still trying to get through Resident Evil 5 in the Ps3, I think, hands down, unicorns > zombies. Cause you know, Rainbow Brite was 80's Milla Jovovich.

That was random.

I have been sleeping with my husband, Nintendo, again.
I just finished Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. I cried a lot. I just wanted to solve my puzzles. T_________T But yeah, it was sensational. Some of you may not know, but aside from being fixated on Zombies and undead in general, I am also a time-travel nerd. Even if the story didn't make any sense towards the end, I still love the game.

I love Flora.

Loves anime.

I'm also into anime. I have actually cosplayed once, a vampire named Maria Kurenai. I even had the opportunity to actually play the character impromptu when another cosplayer came up to me and dissed me, him cosplaying Zero. We exchanged lines, in our own world, I was Shizuka Hio.

My fandom does not end there. I also draw anime. In fact, aside from a good friend in highschool who taught me how to draw gundams and asuka langley shoryu, I mainly learned how to draw by reading manga. My drawing skills improved, but not so much. I remember drawing Trunks and Son Gokou of DragonballZ on my pad paper, over and over again. Being influenced by Japanese art is evident in how I draw, and later I found this to be my block as well. I can never draw characters past the age of 13. Loli characters, as some call them.

One time my best friend and I decided to work together. He can write, I can draw. So he challenged me to draw a zombie. Taken the above statement into consideration... it didn't turn out too well. We ended up planning for a dating sim game, nothing too fancy, but as it turns out writing a visual novel is barely half the work. I tried my best, and produced these three lovely ladies:

Image

Anya, Therese, and Melissa.
(I'm actually surprised their poses could be put aside one another and they'd look like they were meant to pose together like that.)

These were drawn before I had a tablet. I used a mouse. Bragbragbrag. I drew them a second, even third pose, and they are all neatly kept in a folder. They are ready, or so I thought. My flaw: they are supposed to be in highschool. They looked 16 to me when I drew them, but when I finished I realized that Anya could pass for a grade 3 student. Therese looks mature, but still not quite. Melissa is a pre-teen with big boobs.

The summer after that I had to go through an operation and the project was shelved. The year after I was on my last year in college, the business and thesis and all, and the project was left untouched. Now that my life has been rearranged, priorities straightened, I decided to pick the novel up. My best friend, still here for me, seems to be a little hesitant to try and finish, but I think he just needs a little persuasion.

I'm now trying to redraw them, and change the way they have been colored. The vector-like shading does not sit right with me.

For those of you interested what a visual novel is, I highly recommend Narcissu and Ever 17. There aren't a lot of english-sub Visual Novels, but if you are curious and need a past time, please visit http://www.insani.org/.
Narcissu could be found here: http://narcissu.insani.org/.
