Human; Male
Age: 27 years
--From Sunberth

Physical Appearance:

Ikbin Vorgesetzter stands exactly six feet tall, weighs precisely 207lbs. and has an athletic, yet muscular build. His head is a short unkempt mess of brown hair with a dark gold matte. He has an upper, right ear piercing and light gray facial tattoos. Combined with his dark grey eyes, Vorgesetzter's cynical sneer and his cold and flinty visage, makes for an altogether intimidating
countenance.

Character Concept:

Arrogant, cynical, ambitious, and hyper-individualistic . . . Yet artistic, intuitive, intelligent, and passionate. These are the character traits that best capture the essence of Ikbin Vorgesetzter's being. He is complex character in his entirety, yet he is driven by a very simple force: a carnal passion to reach his full potential. To achieve an immortality of the Mind. To rise to a Greatness and an unmatched superiority. He is his own master. He will do whatever it takes to achieve his dream. He knows not peace. He knows hardly anything of love, save for that which his mother gave him, and is quite naive on the subject. His philosophies, his ethics, morals can all be summed up in the implications of a phrase he is heard uttering quite frequently: "Good and Evil is the way of the Weak. Rise and Fall is the path to Immortality." The only one he has ever cared for was his mother, yet she was torn away from him by his Father, a drunk and a fiend, and his mother's (now his) horse. He cares not for anyone that he deems ''inferior" and harbors an unbridled contempt toward those of whom he deems Weak. He is full of hatred and anger. He knows not mercy, and very little of compassion. He is mildly sociopathic, considered to be a flaw by most everyone (it seems his mother's locket tends to enable him to retain the last vestiges of his sanity). And he is always concerned with the achieving of his greatness, which sometimes drives him to severe lengths and fatal risks.

Personal History:

Born into the trappings of poverty, Ikbin Vorgesetzter has always known what it means to struggle to make ends meet. His father was a drunk and a fiend, his mother a compassionate soul, was an indentured slave to one of the many gangs of Sunberth. His father was a laborer, spending much of his pay on alcohol and debauchery, leaving only enough to feed himself and to barely feed his wife and child. Ikbin, and his mother, were his father's favorite targets for beatings, and because of this, his mother often encouraged him to get out of the house, giving him a small dagger to fend off anyone who harrassed him.
In his ventures into the dangerous streets of sunberth, Ikbin would go off exploring. Sometimes he would go steal food and other items for him and his mom. Often times he and the other kids of the slums would practice brawling and fighting with small sticks. At one point he found a massive tome, called The Dominance of Time, a historical compendium of philosophical teachings, and upon bringing it home, his mother taught him how to read. It took him many years before he was able to read The Dominance of Time, and comprehend its meaning yet he persevered, reading as much as he could and as often as he could. In between his self-imposed reading sessions, he would go off and practice other forms of writing. He kept a journal in which he recorded his thoughts and beliefs. Ikbin also developed a passion for poetry and he poured out his soul into his poems.
At the age of 17, he decided to begin readng The Dominance of Time (he had earlier decided to withhold from reading it until he felt competent enough in his abilities so that he may fully understand it) and upon doing so, he experienced a massive paradigm shift, altering and changing many of his own convictions of the world, rejecting many former beliefs and adopting others for the truth he saw in them. Upon the night of completing The Dominance of Time, his father came home more drunk and enraged than usual, for he had just indentured himself to a ganglord for his gambling problems, and he started to beat up on Ikbin's mother, who had become severely ill and weak (and Ikbin had taken upon himself the responsibility of caring for her out of his love). Enraged, Ikbin rushed into the room and tackled his father to the ground beating him away. After brawling for a bit while more, his father took a cast iron candle stick and struck Ikbin on the head, knocking him out cold, and then proceeded to beat and ravage his mother. Upon reawakening, Ikbin saw his father strike his mother with a heavy blow before finally killing her. Ikbin then took his dagger, rusted and chipped, and stabbed his father through the temple, breaking the blade at the hilt as it lodged into his skull. Ikbin then decided to flee, taking his mother's locket and horse, and has travelled the world since seeking enlightenment and the keys to unlocking his full potential. His many struggles and hardships have left him hardened and bitter, with a mind ravaged from the horrors of the world and driven by a single burning desire.
