He continued to smile, ”Well if you decide that you want re-payment my offer still stands” He reassured her wondering why she was so glum all of a sudden. Was she prone to mood swings like that? It was like a flip of a switch. Though she did look tired, and that could explain a lot. He knew when he was tired he wasn’t always in the best of mood either, but the sudden change caught him off guard and made him wonder if he had said something. He did feel bad for her, and watched her change and curl up and sleep. She was something… That was for sure.
He got up, his bare feet touching the cold floor of the rented room and went over to her stuff and started to rifle though it looking at the saddle that she had bought for her horse. Just stuff and it was something to do. He poked and prodded it with a curious finger but didn’t go as far as to open any of the pouches. He looked at the wolf that was trying to sleep or was already asleep. He couldn’t tell. So this was her as an animal, much bigger than him as a cat that was for sure. He guessed it was time for rest, but he wasn’t all that tired and so just took off his cloak and laid on the bed sprawling out. Unable to get comfortable he rolled on his side and just tossed and turned. Even on a bed… Strange, though he found a comfy spot in the middle of the bed, and so he did his best to curl up like he would when he was cat. He closed his eyes and just focused on his breathing.
As he did so he thought about everything that was happening. Everything that has happened and everything that could happen, that might happen. He always thought it silly that the humans and other races preoccupied themselves with the future, and now that he was free he thought he understood. The future, when your every move wasn’t dictated by a master, was so uncertain, so scary. He thought he understood now their desire to know… Sometimes it was unnerving. Not knowing….
