Singing in the rain (Dlight)

Rosetta hadn't went outside of the circus area during her whole time in Zeltiva. She was afraid that she would see the Scholar again and that he would hurt her. Now that she was in Syliras, all she wanted to do was explore. The circus had arrived last night so today was her day to explore. She had found her way to the top of a roof and was sitting on it.

She had started to sing to herself as she watched the city down below. Though most people were inside the castle there were still some who dicided to walk outside. She watched as couples, families, even stray animals, walked by, unknowing that they were being watched.

She continued to sit there as the sun began to set. Soon enough the moon peaked out from the horizen and then was fully in the sky. It's silver light blanketed the city and made the snow that was around sparkle. People soon began to return to the castle seeking heat and soon Rosetta had no more people to watch.

She continued to hum as she stood up and climbed down from the roof to the ground below.

Singing in the rain (Dlight)

Walking outside during the night always brought mixed feelings to the Ethaefel that only allowed himself to be called by his past name as Dlight. He loved being freed from the aggravation of the hot Syna, who was always stubbornly trying to make him as uncomfortable as possible. However, he could only view Leth from afar, his wings even being stripped from him as soon as his God rose, forbidding him from flying towards Him. The anxiety and overall torture Dlight felt was apparent, making him wish to be away from others lest they ask him what was wrong.

Luckily, as populated as Syliras was, most of it's inhabitants and merchants went indoors a while after Syna lowered beneath the horizon. The black robe he wore covered his skin from the chill of Winter, his true form lacking the warm fur that he had as a Zith, although not lacking in height. It's hood was left draped against his back, as if there was one thing that Dlight had, it was pride for the body that Leth had given him. His fine hair fell long and straight almost to his hips, a slightly dull silver color with odd strands of rust left from the Fall. The black horns that marked him as something unique stood out atop his head, almost gleaming a deep purple when Leth's light hit them in the right way.

Tonight, he felt like wandering. Dlight stood in the previously busy courtyard, paying no mind to the few merchants and civilians still out at that time and instead gazing at Leth. He'd been there for a while, out of the middle of the courtyard and more to the side. The weather was nice, cold but not too cold. Just as Dlight was about to let out a pleasured sigh, he stilled, seeing something drop to the ground in his peripheral vision.

He turned his attention to it, thinking it was a small bat that may have run into a building. "Are you alright?" He muttered, his voice quiet and almost sounding ashamed. Dlight hated his voice.

Only moments after Rosetta had started walking she stoped, hearing a voice behind her asking if she was ok. She turned around to see a man in a cloak. She began to walk toward him once she had gotten about a meter away she replied, "I'm ok. I do that all the time." and smiled up at the stranger.

"Who are you?" asked little Rosetta, her face becoming twisted with curiousity. The young pycon looked up at the man's horns. She found this odd only having know deer and other similar animals to have horns. "Why do you have thoughs?" she said pointing at the horns. She acted just as much like a child as she looked like one.

"I'm Rosetta by the way, Rosetta Little. I work at the circus." she added with a smile. She was very proud of her work and wanted people to know about the circus so that they would come. They didn't have alot of people coming and if it continued like that they wouldn't be able to travel anymore.

Singing in the rain (Dlight)

Postby Dlight on February 4th, 2011, 5:34 pm

Dlight had never found such a small creature that could communicate so well. Was this creature made of magic? It was hard to see, his eyes weren't so well in the dark as they would be if his Zith form wasn't stolen away by the time Syna lowered. So intrigued, Dlight lowered himself to it's level, finding it's voice hard to hear from so up high. Using his ears to locate where the source was, the Ethaefel found himself locking eyes with a very small girl. She seemed devoid of color, and without a doubt had to have been created with magic as no race he'd heard of was so small.

"Who are you?" She asked, her voice curious and oblivious to the pain that the question caused him. Dlight wished he could speak the name Leth gave him to her, he wished he could yell to the sky and write it proudly. His horns were inquired about, the curiosity in her seeming to be caused by those alone. Dlight remained quiet, determining whether he wished to continue observing the sky as he had been or remain listening to the tiny girl.

Rosetta Little, it was interesting that she worked at the circus. Dlight had heard of it while he was a Zith, had even thought to stop by and see if there may be any performances that could teach him further of music. He wondered exactly what Rosetta could do at the circus, imagining that she may be an entertaining prop.

As much as the Ethaefel wished he could tell her his past name, Dlight, he couldn't get the word off his tongue. "Nameless," Dlight told her, the single word perhaps quiet even compared to her small voice. "Leth bestowed me this body." His mind slowly worked to remind him how he interacted with others while he was a Zith, "Rosetta Little, how do you work?" There was something about the question that seemed innocent. It wasn't intended to be offensive, but was truly asked out of curiosity and was reminiscent of, What are you?

The small pycon waited patiently for his answer. It was something that she had learned when she had lived with the Scholar. It would be rude to interupt while he was talking even though she wanted to asked more questions. When the answer finally came she became confused.

"What do you mean nameless? Everyone has a name! I'll make one for you." she replied. She looked around looking for inspration. As she began to run out of ideas she looked down at the snow below her and noticed how it twinkled. The man had said that Leth had given him his body. Leth was the god of the moon right? She couldn't quite remember but it seemed fitting. "How about Ay?" she suggested.

How did she work? Rosetta concluded that it was probubly about the circus. "I'm a trapeze artist. I do flips and tricks while I keep my balance on a small stick." Then the small clay figure thought some more. "Did you mean how I live?" she asked.

Dlight pondered Rosetta's words, wondering at her choice of name. It was unique and thoughtful of her, but he wouldn't accept any other name except his own--that is, the one Leth bestowed him that he could no longer pronounce. No, it didn't cross his mind to even consider adopting a new name, though her intentions were good and he didn't want to disappoint her. "I like Ay," He simply said, a sort of kindness in his voice that showed he was smiling even though it didn't appear on his face.

Dlight listened to her explanation about her work at the circus, trying to imagine such a small girl performing for such a large crowd. "I enjoy performances." The Ethaefel told her, his voice louder than before; he really loved performances. He slowly lowered himself to the ground, sitting atop the cold stone of the courtyard so that he was more at speaking level with Rosetta. She looked much more detailed from that point of view, Dlight now being able to see her long hair and dress. "Yes." He answered her, "Is it cold for you?" Dlight's hand patted the ground lightly, gesturing to the freezing stone.

Rosetta smiled. She was happy the he liked the name. She watched as Nameless now Ay slowly sat down on the stone. "You should come watch it some time. Its lots of fun! I even get to sing sometimes in my shows." The pycon's smile got larger. She was proud of her work and she knew Big Rosetta would be proud too if she hadn't dissapered.

"I can't feel the cold. Or heat for that matter." Rosetta replied as she sat on the ground opposite of the man. "I eat clay about once or twice a week." she added thinking it might be usefull.

Clay! So beings could be made from clay that could speak and move just as anyone else could? That thought was fascinating, making Dlight's usually bland expression seem to brighten a bit, his eyes moving to lock with Rosetta Little's. "Clay, amazing." A weak smile crossed his lips, looking slightly pathetic but at least he tried. "I perform too." There was pride strongly evident in those words, and in an instant the Ethaefel was retrieving his violin case from where it had been propped up against the building, lowering it carefully to the ground. He was eager to share his mission with the fascinating clay girl.

"Violin," Dlight told her, "Not good, but learning." His hand was placed against the case's lock, showing both protectiveness and how treasured the instrument was to him. "I play for Leth. Who do you sing for?" There was a certain tone to his voice that showed he couldn't imagine anyone performing for only themselves. Surely there had to be someone they wished to please, someone specific and beyond the audience.

Singing in the rain (Dlight)

Postby Rosetta on March 6th, 2011, 2:05 pm

(OOC: Sorry if I take a long time. Life is crazy right now.)

A smile surfaced on Rosetta's face. She was happy that the information she had given was usefull to Ay. "Really?" she asked, her eyes widening as the man retrived his violin case. "I once knew someone who played the violin." One of Big Rosetta's friends used to play the instrument. When ever she would come over she would play her violin while Little Rosetta would do tricks on the trapeze to the music.

The Pycon thought about his question for awhile. Did she play for someone? She had never thought about it before. Then the answer came to her. "I sing for Big Rosetta. She was my best friend, but then she disapered." sadness crossed her face as she thought of her friend. How long had it been now? A year? Probably less but close enough.

OOCIt's fine, I understand. :) Take as long as you need and don't worry about it.
"Oh, you knew someone?" Dlight automatically asked, another slight upturn of his lips appearing before quickly vanishing. Rosetta's happiness seemed to wane as time passed and she considered his question, until finally she answered. The Ethaefel had to admit, he was slightly surprised that the clay girl could feel such strong emotion, but then again he had never met one of her kind before.

He remained quiet, knowing that the wounds of losing something important were deep. Before Dlight spoke, he thought carefully about what was best to say. "She will still hear you," he wasn't sure if Rosetta had left her or been taken away, "Leth is so far away." The shortness of his sentences wasn't because of lack of knowledge about the Common language, but the result of not being comfortable with his own voice. The Ethaefel could never sing, and found himself having respect for Rosetta's courage.

"I still play for him. He hears," Dlight attempted a smile once again, "Big Rosetta hears too."
