Malemar Syrus Basic Information Race: Human Birthday & Age: 20 Summer 492 AV, which makes him to be 18 years of age. Gender: Male Physical Description Malemar is a fairly tall young man standing at 181CM tall, which is slightly over 6 foot in height. He has short, cropped jet black hair and a scar in the shape of an arrow on the left hand side of his left eyebrow. He is quite well built and athletic, due to his diet consisting mainly of fish, meat and vegetables, as well as his hard working nature. His eyes are a light shade of blue, changing colour slightly in the summer, sometimes even appearing to shimmer. Character Concept He is a man considered arrogant by some, confident by others. He will rarely back down from a fight, although he isn't stupid enough to fight if the odds are stacked firmly against him. He has a loving side, and seeks a good set of companions. He looks to build deep meaningful relationships with others. He can often anger quite easily and sometimes struggles to keep his anger in check. For the most part, Malemar attempts to keep himself to himself, although he often ends up finding trouble. Or trouble finding him. Despite only being young, Malemar has high hopes and ambitions, one day hoping to own his own restaurant serving food of the fishy variety or perhaps his own fishing vessel. The two are not entirely similar, although the passion for each is there. Before he starts his entrepreneurial journey however, there is much he must learn, and he wishes to see more of the world first. Character History The First Year & The Death Of His Mother On the 20th day of the season of summer in the year 492 AV, a boy was born in a small village near the Evantide Tower. Born into a simple family, unheard of anywhere outside of the village, it was a birth hardly worth knowing about, and realised by very few people. The boy that was born upon this day was Malemar, the man you now see before you. At the time of his birth, Malemars mother did little besides tend the house and keep up with the local gossip. Comings and goings, news from outside and general goodwife gossip seemed to be the main topics of conversation between the women of the village. Dalya Syrus was always held in good stead by her friends and family, and indeed even held some sway with the village council due to her good standing. One day however, when Malemar was little older than four months of age, Dalya became suddenly and violently very ill. Confined to her bed, there was nought else she could do, but be waited on hand and foot and attended to by her loving husband Bari. For a month she endured, with her condition never improving and ever worsening. Finally, it became too much and she gave up fighting. She died not long after, seemingly having given up the will to live. Bari, the father of Malemar was stricken with grief and precious little was able to console him. The one consolation he found was in his son, a helpless babe, still innocent and unaffected by the world around him. When his eyes met those of his sons, a smile would always touch his lips and a love would shine in his eyes. The sort of love that only a father could have for their son. "You will grow into a fine man one day son. Make your mother proud." His father would often look down on him and smile, I suppose one of the reasons was that he could see a part of Dalya in his son, which pleased him greatly, reminding him that whilst she may have been gone, her memory and legacy were not. His Childhood Years Malemars childhood was a fairly fulfilling time in his life. Over the course of many years, his relationship with his father had grown and flourished, blossoming into one which saw them become inseperable. There was barely a moment that they were apart. Whether it was learning the ways of fishing, or just talking and chattering, they were always together. A good deal of their time was spent at the lake, a short distance from the village that they called home. They would spend countless hours there with Malemar learning to fish from his father, or making fires and reflecting upon their day. When Malemar was not with his father, he could be found with his good friend Tomalin. Born two months later than he, Tomalin was the only boy his own age within the village. Growing up together, the two boys shared many interests, including that of swords and adventure. They would often stay up late swapping stories with each other, dreaming one day that they would both become adventurers, exploring the world together and vanquishing any foes that stood between them and greatness. His Teenage Years As Malemar began to age and develop, he also began to take on more responsibility, being entrusted by his father with far greater tasks than he had previously. He became very hard working and reliable, still spending a good deal of time with his father. As Malemar grew older, his father decided to entrust him with larger parts of their job. Hevwould often take the fish to market by himself, coming back with a good deal of coin to show for it. It was around the age of 15 that he also took up a job in an inn within the village, performing simple cooking and cleaning tasks. In this time he managed to develop into a young man that would indeed have made his mother proud. When Malemar was 17 years of age, he and his father were upon just another fishing trip. All was going well, and the men were having a pleasant time, joking and laughing between themselves. Suddenly, things took an unexpected turn for the worst. A black shafted arrow shot from somewhere nearby buried itself within his fathers torso. Knowing not what to do, Malemar simply attended his father in his dying moments, tears making lines in the dirt that was upon his face. [i]"You have done your mother proud, son. I didn't mean for you to see this. Find them." Before Malemar could ask his father what he had meant by that, he let out one final breath and died. Malemar would spend the next few months of his life searching for answers. He then headed to Syliras hoping that maybe there he could find the answers that he was looking for.
