As the wind blows.. [Vizyous Aconitum, Private]

Date: Spring in the Year 511 AV, day 3

His bones crackling, he looked around, trying to detect somewhere he could find food and shelter.

"Dear god, I'm getting sluggish.." he mumbled in common

Wrapping his wings around himself like a cloak, he began to feel uneasy. It was quite, too quite. Un-aware of the Knights of Syliras, he didn't feel threatened in the least. Still, he knew his race wasn't exactly welcome in most human establishments. Wrapping his wings tighter, he swiftly walked off down an alley, going his best to remain stealthy. He was in search of a cat or dog to cart off.

"Fuck.. I'm hungry.." he growled to himself

Suddenly, his ears picked up a familiar sound. Heartbeats. Many of them, and Shame decided he should probably behave himself until he was sure what threats await him, after all, he was in unfamiliar territory. Turning, he looked down the alley he stood in one more time for good measure, before returning to the lighting of the main street. Suddenly, he began to hear a couple of the heartbeats quickening. Smirking, he raised his hands up in a gesture of what he perceived to be a friendly greeting - careful to keep his wings folded. Arms raised in greeting, he displayed a broad smile and spoke.

"I can hear that I've been noticed. Don't fear me, I'm not here for conflict. I need a place to buy food and look for work, and I'll be on my way." he said

His voice was deep and silky, load enough to be heard by all nearby - but low enough that he wouldn't disturb those sleeping in their homes nearby.

He observed the style of the building surrounding him, the quality of the stonework and the various tracks left in the street muck. Though he had never spent much time within a city before - he remembered the 'feel' that human's put into their homes. It was curious to him, how much love and dedication humans could put into their homes; and yet, he remembered how easily his colony were able to burn them down and take slaves.

As the wind blows.. [open]

In an effort to get some fresh air and escape the suffocating smell of alcohol in the Rearing Stallion, Vizyous sat nearby the courtyard, resting atop the cobblestone and looking up at the sky. It wasn't nearly as dark as his home city of Kalinor, nor was the air ever fresh enough compared to that atop the mountains of Kalea. Syliras offered little to Vizyous nowadays, and what once used to be an exciting city full of promise, was just tiring. Only twenty one years, and the Symenestra was already starting to feel old.

His sigh was cut short by a sight that wasn't often seen in Syliras, nor in many other places aside from the wilderness-- however in a place this well guarded, it was doubly rare. In the darkness, a Zith had managed to make it's way into Syliras, likely by flight considering how tired the man seemed. How Vizyous knew of what race the man was born from was only due to the seediest moments from his past, the impressive black wings folded down in an instant to resemble a harmless cloak.

With the speed and stealth that Zith were infamous for, the man was gone in the short instant that Vizyous blinked, and perhaps foolishly or in doubt of his sanity, the Symenestra began a chase. The bat-like creatures had a hunger for flesh and slaves, he remembered, having delivered supplies to Xy a few times. Vizyous could only hope that the one he pursued was more sense than stomach, his eyes scanning the darkness with ease.

Before the Symenestra could even begin to feel as if he'd grown closer to the Zith, he paused in his step past a rare alleyway, hearing a carefully pitched, rich voice speak to him. Vizyous should have known, really, that such a creature would dart into the darkest, most desolate area they could find-- which in this city, would be an alleyway. Although his body froze, his heart pounded and his mind worked rapidly to decipher the man's intentions behind his words.

One clawed, pale hand grasped the corner of the wall that made the entrance of the alley, another slowly following. After a shallow breath of determination, Vizyous poked his pale face around the corner, eyes taking in the darkness and translating it into one quick image. Pale, with dark hair and a falsely comforting smile, however the distrust the Symenestra felt wasn't displayed within his bright, amethyst eyes. With a voice of curiosity that wasn't entirely untrue, the man mumbled loud enough for him to hear, "There isn't much food there."

A small, tentative smile curved Vizyous' lips, "You must be tired from flying," his face and hands remained the only parts of him visible, "would you like me to get you some food?" The subtle concern he expressed wasn't only a facade, the memory of how tired the Symenestra had been when first arriving still very vivid.

As Shame listened, he turned and observed the man before him. Pale, and spider like, the man caught Shame's curiosity. For a moment at least, his hunger was abated by his curiosity. Walking t words the man, he paused a safe distance. Shame rubbed his own chin with one taloned hand, before speaking..

”Your not human, and honestly, because of that your a welcome sight. Those knights made it pretty clear that my usual meals won't be tolerated here.. No food here indeed...“ he said smoothly

Looking up at the ramparts, he watched as a couple knight patrolled their posts. Nodding to the ramparts, he gestured to the knights in question, before speaking once more.

”I won't be here long.” he said, smoother still

Pulling a few gold miza's from his breeches pocket, he held them out.

”If you would purchase for me a slab of raw meat, I'll pay you two gold miza's for it. I would get it myself, but one wrong tone and I'll be turned into a quiver...” he explained, this time with a crackle in his voice

Placing the gold miza slowly back into his pocket, he made sure they gleamed in the mood-light; clanking enticingly one at a time as they landed upon their kin. Turning, he walked over to a nearby bench and sat down. Crossing his talons legs, left over the right – he waited for a reply. He intentionally sat on a well lit bench, so the guards in the ramparts could see he was up to no shenanigans.

As the wind blows.. [Vizyous Aconitum, Private]

From the safe distance that the Zith had approached, Vizyous revealed himself as more than just a head popping around the corner, stepping from behind the wall and into the entrance of the alley. It wasn't a surprise that the creature may have felt relieved at being seen by someone other than a human, however the fact that a Symenestra and a Zith were talking would seem suspicious to at least one guard. His proposition of payment for fetching some meat kept Vizyous from voicing his concerns, attentive eyes shining as brightly as the coins that shimmered within the Zith's dark palm.

Before the eager Symenestra could approach and accept his offer, the male made his way to a well-lit, nearby bench, and sat. It was a purposeful action, Vizyous could tell, and it gave him some hope that this Zith was more intelligent than most of his kind. Eyes having trailed the man along path, Vizyous' feet soon followed, casually and quietly heading to the male.

His long, bare arms were carefully held by his sides, claws only slightly fidgeting in anticipation of holding the miza. "Vizyous, ready to help." Already bright and pale enough to be seen clearly in the darkness, the Symenestra refrained from further illuminating himself by stepping into the light. "You're lucky to have been let in at such a late bell."

"As equally unwelcome as my kind are, you've happen to run into one that has a way with words. I'll try persuade a business to let me buy raw meat from them, if you'll be patient a short while." Vizyous stepped forward enough for his hand to extend forward, palm quietly and patiently open, awaiting the gold rimmed miza. "One coin will be enough, to pay for the food."
