The urge to turn the man down was strong. There was something about him which let the Animator grow wary, which let his eyes time and time again find the man's face and hands just to see what he was doing while they talked. There was also the fact his newest acquaintance was so eager to ask questions coupled with his seeming unwillingness to offer details about himself. Both did not sit well with Velarian, who could not make out if the man was just curious or actually hunting for some more vital information.
Finally the older Symenestra shrugged. He had barely enough work to fill his evening hours and as a result had a not minuscule amount of time he could have spend on other things. It was a vague streak of courtesy which let him pick the other man's company over his books and studies.
"You know Hunters' Gather?," he asked with a nod out into the darkness beyond the market. The shapes of other buildings formed pale shadows against the black of the cave, even behind them his keen Symenestra eyes could make out the contours of the stalagmite rising from the cavern floor. Had they been closer they might have been able to make out the luminous moss covering the stone's flanks, but so they could only catch a hint of its silhouette. "I would not mind a meal, if you want to come along. So early in the day the place should be empty. Good for talking."
Velarian did not offer to invite the other man on a drink, did only wait long enough to see if the man would follow before starting to navigate towards the the main street. The red silk rope would not lead them the entire way towards the tavern, yet they could follow the broader path for a while before they revert to the more narrow threads only their kind could navigate properly. He stepped around a group of young woman about to leave the market, but stopped before moving out onto the red silk of the main trail himself.
"If you want to come along that is," he offered the last time, his smile only a faint trace on his features. He might have paid the place a visit even without the other man asking for a more private place to talk.
