During the Valterrian, the landscape changed dramatically. Mountains rose almost overnight and whole cities vanished beneath the inland flood. To anyone looking at a cartographer's map, they would not help but notice how The Suvan Sea looks like one giant crater. The violence and short period of time involved in creating that inland sea was not without its own repercussions. When the salt waters of the southern oceans flooded the main continent of Mizahar, the tidal wave was incredible to behold. It destroyed both major commerce areas and killed most of the population of the world. Here and there, overflow from that epic event created captured pools and marshes of salt water that couldn't quite be contained within the center of the world. Pavi Lake is one such location, and to date, the largest ever discovered. It is an large inland lake that runs quiet deep and is completely filled with salt water. Due to its salt water nature, strange structures towards the shoreline rise up, coated with heavy concentrations of salt. Pavi has an incredible almost alien beauty about it. And due to its unique nature, strange and wondrous creatures live within it. Some even claim to have seen a lake monster, with a long serpentine head and huge humped body swimming through the cerulean waters. Others have claimed to see finned humans singing incredibly beautiful songs at sunset and sunrise. Pavi Lake is large enough to hide a multitude of secrets. It's also strange enough to spawn a thousand rumors. |
