Are You Still There? (Jokor)

"If you want," Jaelyn said with a soft smile, "But I have little else to do today, and so it would not be a problem for me to show you all of them. Though our first stop should probably be one of the schools."

Leading the way into Stormhold pondered for a while silently over what to speak of next. Finally she turned and smiled at Jokor, "Now that you have been in Syliras for a time what do you think of it? Are you glad that you came here? Have you had any trouble in finding your way around?"

Are You Still There? (Jokor)

Jokor shrugged when Jaelyn when she mentioned it wouldn't be a problem for her anyway.
"Eh If you really want I don't really care, at least gives us something to do on this walk doesn't it." He stuffed his hands into his pockets. continuing to walk after her.
When She broke the silence with her question Jokor once again shrugged.
"Finding your way isn't that hard around here when you get the planning down and glad that I came here?" Jokor thought a bit about that. "Its good enough I guess, not a place I would like to live with all those knights constantly looking over your shoulder, but I can't get out of here so I don't think anything can be done about that then try to adapt to those laws. As fricking annoying as they can be." Jokor muttered the last bit under his breath.

Are You Still There? (Jokor)

Postby Jaelyn Baroth on April 13th, 2011, 5:53 pm

Jaelyn gave a small shake of her head and sigh at Jokor's words about the Knights and laws. While it was certainly frustrating to hear him say such it was not like there was anything wrong with him having his own opinion, and a true Knight was tolerant and respectful of others no matter what they said.

"The laws are there for everyone's protection and happiness, including yours Jokor," Jaelyn said with a soft smile as they entered into Stormhold and she started to wind her way through the hallway towards the nearest school she knew of, "And you only need to fear the Knights if you do something against those laws."

A thought came to her as she spoke. Maybe the reason why Jokor was having such a hard time with adjusting because he was on his own and had no family. Her own family certainly played a large part in her life. After a little while of silence she asked, "Would you like to come with me to dinner this evening? I am visiting my parents this evening and I am sure my Mother would welcome you to come and join us for the meal."

Are You Still There? (Jokor)

Jokor rolled his eyes at Jaelyn's defense of the laws.
"Well I would be a lot happier if there weren't so damn many of those, I dare to bet I'm going to piss of those knight by accident one day. How in the name of yshul am I going to remember all of those laws?"
The fact that he just said the name of the goddess of thieves to a knight in training didn't really disturb him, they wouldn't throw him into the tank for just saying her name right?

Jokor abruptly stopped in his tracks when she suddenly invited him to dinner, giving her a look that was a mixture between confusion and suspicion.
Why would anybody introduce him, a thief, to their parents when they where in syliras for Yshul's sake? Still the offer of free food that hasn't been laying around in the alley's for a few days did do wonders though and he nodded.
"eh sure, free food is always good when you are tight on cash."

Jaelyn gave a soft sigh at Jokor's ranting against the laws once more. She supposed she could understand considering his history, but it was not easy to deal with. The name that he invoked however caused her breath to catch. She knew of Yshul, and what she was Goddess over. She supposed that he might just be saying it, and not actually worship the Goddess of thieves, but what if he did?

She would have to keep a closer eye on him, but for now there was little point in worrying about it. Worshiping Yshul was certainly not against the law. So she did her best to give a patient smile to Jokor, "Like I said before Jokor, it is not hard to obey the law as long as you are nice to everyone. It is not like the laws ask odd and confusing things."

When Jokor stopped Jaelyn almost laughed at the look he gave her. It was amusing, but at the same time it was sad that he would be suspicious of such a simple offer. He definitely needed help in overcoming his past. At his acceptance she gave a smile and a nod, "It is still some time until dinner, so we can look at a few more of the places on your list," she gave him a look over, "And perhaps go get you a bath. You could use a little cleaning up."

If Jaelyn though that the look on his face a few moments ago was funny, then the deer in headlights look that spread over his face when the word bath was mentioned would probably leave her in stitches.
Jokor carefully took a step to the side, getting himself out of her reach before giving himself a quick look over, before looking back at her.
"I dunno, I don't smell myself and it rained on me when I was traveling towards here, so I think I am clean enough for my opinion." He kept an eye on jaelyn the entire time he was talking, as if he suspected that she would suddenly make a grab for him and drag him towards the nearest ice cold barrel of water and dump him in.
"So I really don't need a bath." Jokor momentarily shivered as the memory of being dunked in a cold water barrel a few seasons ago came back into his mind. Letting a chill run over his spine. He wasn't going to take a bath anytime soon if ever if he could help it.

Are You Still There? (Jokor)

Postby Jaelyn Baroth on April 15th, 2011, 8:25 pm

Jaelyn blinked in surprise at Jokor's reaction. It looked like he was afraid of a bath. How could you be afraid of a bath? Confusion plane on her face she tried to figure it out, but came up with nothing. So she simply asked, "Jokor, are you afraid of bathing?"

She could understand being afraid of deep water, like what was in the harbor, but you would have to actually try to drown yourself to have any problems in a bath. Giving a reassuring smile to the boy she offered, "There is no reason to worry. If you would like there are attendants at the Soothing Waters that could help you."

"I'm not afraid of bathing." Jokor said a bit of irritated by her even thinking that he would be afraid of something like that. When she mentioned that there where attendants at the soothing waters he frowned in confusion, since when did they call being dumped in a barrel of cold water soothing? And did they need a attendant for that? When she suggested that he needed help to wash himself he let out an indignant snort.
"I know how to keep myself clean and I know that I am clean now, so no reason to go and wash myself." Jokor said the last sentence with a sense of finality that told jaelyn that he wouldn't be easily persuaded to go take a bath.

Jaelyn's lips curled down slightly in a confused frown at Jokor's insisting that he was clean and wasn't afraid of bathing, "If you are not afraid then what is it? Most people find the warm, flowing, waters relaxing and enjoyable."

Suddenly a possible explanation struck her, and she gave a soft smile to the boy, "If it is the cost you are worried about I would have no problem paying the cost," though it still seemed a little odd, as it wasn't like the Soothing Waters was very expensive at all.

Moving towards Jokor she offered him a hand as she continued to smile softly, "Come, it is not far from here, and is one of the places on your list as well."

Are You Still There? (Jokor)

Jokor looked at jaelyn as if she where crazy, he might not be the most knowledgeable person around here but he knew what a bath was and warm and flowing weren't words that he would associate with it let alone that he would relax and enjoy sitting in a barrel of freezing water. The last time he bathed he couldn't feel his toes afterwards. When Jaelyn offered to pay for his bath his eyes bugged almost out of his skull in surprise, People here had to PAY for that? He was about to tell her once again that he was clean an didn't need a stinking bath when she informed him that it was also a place on the list.

He groaned at that prospect and just took her offered hand.
"Fine lets go then, I'm still not taking a bath though." He grumbled out.
